"I suggest you get your hands off me Rogers before you do something you're gonna regret." Fury says harshly.

Steve let's go of him and steps back into the group. He glances up at me. He looked hurt.

"This wasn't my-" I start before Fury interrupts.

"This was not Y/n's idea. It was mine. I brought her here and told her she needed to stay low. I thought if you thought she had died, you would have worked harder to find these guys. It worked for the battle of New York after Coulson died." Fury explains to the team.

I cross my arms and look off to the side. I felt guilty. I knew it wasn't my doing but I still felt like this was all my fault.

I'm surprised by arms being wrapped around me. I don't even question who it is, I just wrap my arms back around them. I hadn't hugged anyone in months.

I look up and it's Sam. I smile, tears starting to form in my eyes. "God Sam i'm so sorry." I say quietly.

He releases me. "We buried you. Are you kidding?! Why are you sorry? I got my best friend back!" He exclaims.

I smile and turn to Steve again. He's staring at me. His stare showed he was confused. I walk up to him and look up into his eyes. I grab his hands and squeeze them tight. "I've missed you the most." I say.

He doesn't speak he just pulls me into a tight hug. He places a kiss on my forehead and continues to hold me.

After a minute we pull apart. I turn to Fury.

"HYDRA knows i'm alive now. One of their people got away. My team knows i'm alive. There's no point in me staying here anymore. I'm going home." I say with pleading eyes.

"Well-" He starts

"With all due respect director, I wasn't asking." I snap. "I can't thank you enough for all you've done for me, but I don't belong here."

He smiles and nods slowly.

The excitement in me rises and my smile grows. I turn to my team. "I'm gonna go get some things together and i'll be back." I reassure them before taking off down the hallway towards my room.

I grab a duffel bag from the closet and stuff my few things into it. I nearly fix my room and cock my head when I finally notice the two dead HYDRA agents on my floor. I shrug and walk out the room.

I scurry down the hallway and back to the people I had left. Fury's face showed concern.

"I'm back, what'd I miss? I ask.

"Nothing much. Take the rest of the day, relax and cool down. Tomorrow i'll come to you and we'll discuss what the hell happened here." Fury says narrowing his eyes at us.

I nod. "Oh hold on." I say and reach into my waist band where I had tucked the alien tech. "Here's this, I didn't let them have it. Also, i'd have cleanup go to my room. I had to take out some guys in there." I say and hand Fury the device.

He sighs and thanks me. I walk down the hallways with the team, a large smile painted on my face. We reach the doors that led to the parking lot. I can see the jet a couple feet away.

Everyone stops and turns to face Fury and Maria. I put my bag down and hug Maria. "Thank you for making my stay here bearable." I joke. She smiles. "Anytime."

I turn to Fury and reach out my hand. He shakes it and we nod. Nothing needed to be said.

I grab my bag and Tony looks at me. "Ready?" He asks.

"Hell yes." I respond and push open the door. The sunlight hits me and the warmth feels refreshing. The door to the jet opens and I jog up to it. I run into the jet and put my bag on the ground. I sit on the familiar bench and lean my head onto the wall. I was going home.

Everyone else boards the jet and we take off. I watch the Shield base get smaller and smaller until it's gone. I turn back to my friends and we talk the entire ride, catching up.

"So Schmuck is dead huh?" Bucky asks.

I nod and look down. "I was trying to get information from her and another HYDRA agent shot her. I couldn't stop it." I say ashamed.

"We'll get any information?" Thor asks. "Like why were they working with the Udhar?" He pushes.

I shake my head. "Not much but I have my theories. Based on the information I got you guys about the tech in the first place.."

"Wait that was you?" Wanda asks.

I nod. "Yea, I didn't wanna be useless." I shrug.

We reach the tower and I take a deep breath. We step off the jet and i stop. I see flashes of me getting shot again and I stop. I stare at the spot where the blood had stained the concrete. I'm frozen. Everyone in front of me stopped and noticed where I was staring.

I feel someone loop their arm in mine and bring me inside. I look over and see Nat smiling. I smile in return.

"Sorry, I guess I just got caught up in memories." I say and run my head.

She brings me back to my room. Not a single thing had been moved. I smile and toss my bag onto the bed.

We walk to the kitchen and some people sit around the couch.

"Anyone else want a drink?" I ask.

I hear several yes's and grab a bottle of whiskey. I grab glasses and bring it all over to the table in front of the couch. I pour everyone a drink.

Thor raises his glass. "Here's to Y/n being home!" He exclaims and everyone raises their glass in unison.

I smile and down my drink. I look around and for the first time notice that everyone was still kind of a mess from the fight. We sit around the couch talking for hours. I don't even notice the sun go down.

Suddenly it's 11:27 and i'm exhausted. I stand from my place on the couch. Still a little wobbly from all the drinks I start walking to my room. "I'm gonna go shower and go to bed." I declare.

I hear them laugh. God I missed that sound. I smile and continue back to my room. I take a quick shower and change into a sweatshirt and some shorts.

I hear a knock on the door and when I open it Steve is standing there. He doesn't say anything he just stares at me with soft eyes.

I laugh and walk over to my bed. I sit down and pat the space next to me. He smiles like a puppy and comes in, closing the door behind me. I climbs in bed next to me and lays down. I chuckle and turn off the light.

I get under the covers and lay my head on Steve's chest. He wraps his arm around me and plays with my hair. I sigh and melt into his arms. I fall asleep quickly as he lulls he to sleep.
