Their Plans

"Welcome to your end."

I stifle a laugh.

He scoffs at me. "Excuse me?"

"Gee where have I heard that before? My end? Really? For the god of mischief, I thought you would at least be more original." I say mockingly.

He furrows his brows, obviously annoyed.

I lean in. "I learned to shoot a gun before I learned to add and subtract. I was tortured by HYDRAS best before I was 10. You don't scare me." I hiss.

"Oh but I really should. I know what you truly fear." He smirks.

I raise and eyebrow and cross my arms. "Oh, please do enlighten me then."

He laughs. "You could still save yourself you know. I have plans for your Earth that should wreak havoc. You're strong and i'd hate for your potential to go to waste. I only need you for the one thing but you could be so much more." He says, fascinated.

My frown neutralizes. Thoughts are turning in my head. I can't think straight. The silence is deafening.

"What do you need me to do?" I ask slowly.

He smiles slyly. "How do I know you are truly interested?"

I look down at the ground. "If I was ever taught one thing when I was at HYDRA it was to always do things for myself. Forget all things past and stay alive." I say quietly.

He looks at me satisfied. "I see." He nods.

"How can I help?" I ask ashamed.

Loki starts pacing again. "We're building a machine. It will open the Earth up to outside forces and they will help me gain control and tower over the midguardians. You are the key."

I raise an eyebrow. "The key?"

He stops and glances down at me."The Udhar energy flowing through your veins is the final thing needed to completely finish the process." He says staring into my eyes.

I stare back into his dark eyes. They were black and looked soulless. It was intimidating and I break eye contact, looking off to the side of my shoulder.

"Will it kill me?" I ask almost sadly.

"Kill you? No. Hurt? Intensely. But we all have our price to pay." He says narrowing his eyes on me.

I stare off into the distance. "How do I find you?"

"I'll send for you when the time is right." He smirks. "For now, just lay low. You will know when you see it."

I nod and lower my head.

I hear him walk away and I gasp and fall the floor again.

When I look up again i'm back in the tower surrounded by my friends.

"Y/n, you ok?" Sam asks holding up my left arm.

"y-yea I just um I need water." I stammer.

Someone rushes over to my side with a glass of water but I didn't care to see who. I drink the entire glass in a matter of seconds.

"Was it Loki?" Thor eagerly asks.

I nod slowly.

"What did he want?" Tony questions from in front of us.

"Just more threatening I guess." I say standing from the floor. My head was pounding.

"You sure? You seem really shaken..." Nat says cautiously.

I stare past them all. "I'm fine it just took more energy than I thought. I need to rest again."

I steady myself and pull my arm back from Sam. I push past the large group and slowly walk to my room. Once I get there I lock myself in and sit on the edge of my bed. I grab my head, the pain was only getting worse. This had never happened before.

So much had just happened and I didn't know how to process it all. I get a glass from my bathroom and fill it with cool water. I trudge to my desk and sit, my still damp hair resting on my shoulders.

I take a sip of the water and set it down on the desk. I lean back into the chair and all the sudden thoughts pop into my head. This would be normal except for the fact that these weren't my thoughts...

I grab a stack of paper and a pencil from the drawer and start writing and scribbling everything down. I lose every other thought except for these new ones. It's my only focus.

The drawings take up several sheets of paper. Nearly an hour later I finish. I release a tired breath and lean back again. The new thoughts leave my head and my own mind returns.

My hands are shaking and I try to drink mor dog my water. I shuffle through the paper and stand from the desk. I pick them up and start laying them out on the floor.

Once they're all spread out I stand on top of my chair and view them all. Dear god. This was insane. The schematics for the machine lay in front of me.

I jump down to the floor and crawl around the drawing, finding every weak spot, every protective mechanism, every nook and cranny. I find the spot for the "Key". It's a small chamber compared to the rest of it.

By the looks of the machine and some of the annotations, the design had to have been at least a few decades old.

That would mean everything HYDRA stood for was this. This was the base of all HYDRA's intentions. Their plans.

I grab more paper and start writing again, this time with my own thoughts. If I was going to plan, now was the time to do it.

~in the living room~

"Is she usually like that after?" Gamora asks hushed as Y/n walks away.

"No. Something was different....." Wanda says keeping her eyes on Y/n.

"Glad that's not the normal because that was weird." Rocket chuckles.

Everyone else stares at him and he just shrugs.

"How do we know we can trust her? She seemed upset and according to her, she had a messed up childhood. What if she-" Quill says before being interrupted.

"We can trust her." Steve says, no hesitation.

Quill throws his arms in the air and grumbles.

"Either way, something happened in there. We need to figure out what.." Gamora says eyeing everyone.

They all nod.

"Let me talk to her." Sam says and marches towards the hallway.
