Marie releases me from the embrace and holds my shoulders. "Ok follow me inside." She says and steps aside.

I smile and walk inside. She looks outside and then closes it behind me.

"Cookies?" She offers,holding up a small platter.

I shake my head and decline her offer, the task ahead the only thing in my mind. She shrugs and places the tray on the table. After brushing herself off, she unlocks the basement door and starts down the stairs.

I take a deep breath and follow her.

"My husband never told me exactly what was going on today but he said it was going to move us up in the world!" She says excitedly as she puts her hand on the scanner.

It's weird, I kind of get bad for her in a way. Once the scan is complete, the locks click and the door creaks open. I feel Marie's eyes on me as I stand in front of the open door.

"I'm really sorry Marie" I sigh and turn to her.

She raises an eyebrow and I grab one of the pool sticks from beside me. I swing it around and hit her on the head. I felt really bad but I didn't want her warning anyone.

She falls to the ground unconscious and I sigh, holding the stick in my hand still. I press my ear piece.

"I'll be right there. Marie's out. We're in." I say, dropping the stick.

I work quickly to find a chair and tie Marie up. Once that's done I jog back upstairs and open the front door. The faces of my friends greet me and I smile up at them and open the door wider.

They all walk in and of course Thor sees the cookies right away and scarfs down at least a dozen. I roll my eyes. "We've kind of got some world saving stuff to do." I say.

He shoves one more into his mouth and I lead them to the basement. We stop in front of the open door.

"Ok we'll need to spread ourselves a little bit. There's a camera at the end of the hall where they'll identify me and let me in. I can get you in once i'm in. Just wait 5 minutes and then follow me. That should put enough distance between us."  I say looking back and forth between my team and the dark hall.

I feel a hand on my shoulder and turn to see Nat. "We'll be ok." She says one last time.

I take another deep breath and smile weakly. I turn and begin walking down the dark hallway. I fiddle with my fingers as I walk, running through our game plan.

Once I reach the second door I stop, press the button, and look up at the camera in the corner. Another buzzing noise sounds and the door opens.

It was crazy loud inside the main room. There were people running around, screaming orders, and a large beam of light streaming from the large machine.

I'm in awe of the beauty and allure of the light. It seems so familiar? I shake out of it and actually look around and analyze my surroundings. There's a room up a flight of stairs filled with computers.

I smile at those who pass me as I try and make my way to the computer room. Just as I reach the base of the stairs I feel a hand on my shoulder. I whip around and see the same doctor from the other day.

I release a small breath of relief. "Doctor."

He pushes his glasses further on his face. "Loki has requested your use in.." He glances at his watch "10 minutes."

I smile and nod. "Ok i'll be there." I say pointing finger guns at him.

He just scoffs and walks away. Lovely. I grab the banister and propel myself up the stairs until I reach the door. I slow myself and quietly open the door, pressing my back to the wall.

The guards sit in their spinning chairs with their feet on the desk. I pull a small tranq gun from under my shirt and cock it. Before they even have time to turn I shoot them both in the neck and they crumple to the ground.

I tuck the gun back into its holster and quickly move towards the screens. I see my friends approach the door and search for the camera.

"You guys ready?" I ask, pressing the comm.

They all quickly find the camera. "Of course." Thor says, flipping his hammer in his hand.

"Welcome." I say, unlocking the doors.

I watch as they walk through the door and almost immediately I can hear gun fire echos out. I turn on my heel and throw the door open.

When I stand at the top of the stairs once again I see we're all surrounded by chaos and fighting.

How do I always end up in this situation? I charge myself up and the energy surges through me. I feel the heat and I smile. Here we go.

I leap off the banister and land on the ground, sending a flow of energy through the ground and knocking over some of the guards. I stand up and look around. The scientists were flocking to the machine to keep in running. I catch the eye of the doctor from earlier and he looks desperate.

I shrug at him and smirk before blasting a man who was running at me. As I swirl around the room tackling the assassins and guards to the ground I notice a green and black splash of color.

I push my way through the sea of people. "I've got eyes on Loki!" I shout through comms.

I use my daggers to force them out of my way until I reach a clearing. I search the clearing and see Loki facing the balcony of the building, watching it all u fold.

"I've got to say, you're a very good liar." He says quietly.

I chuckle in response. "It's one of the first things I was taught. Although it was incredibly stupid to give me all the schematics of the machine." I scoff.

He turns back to me. "What are you talking about? I only ever gave you information on the chamber.." He says confused.

I tilt my head. "No. You gave me everything on the machine." I say shaking my head now.

His eyes latch onto mine. "Unless... you stole them."

"Stole them?" I laugh. "How is that even pos-"

"We will still make it work." He says, turning back towards the machine.

"And how do you plan on doing that?" I scoff.

"You." He responds coldly.
