"He was all tied up by rusted chains. He was shirtless. His whole body was covered in blood. Red blood dripping out of his chest. He looked up at her and smiled softly.

'I'm fine sweetheart. This is what I
-aah- deserve. Don't cry for me."
He spoke looking into her teary eyes. His soft smile vanished away as the whip again connected with his skin.

She sobbed looking at his state. She wanted to move, help him but couldn't. She was rooted at the spot.

He tried to smile at her but the pain only made his eyes hooded. It made him unconscious.

But he kept his eyes open. Just to look at her. Her face was enough cure for him.
But she couldn't look at him. Her heart broke into pieces as three large bulky men beated him together.

Once again the whip connected his skin and there was a loud tearing noise. She couldn't bear it now. She couldn't bear watching his skin getting teared.

And she screamed."

Sameera woke up screaming. But not on the cold floor. She was on her bed covered with blankets. Tears stained her face.

The door to her room slammed open and her friends came in. Raj, Shivam, Pihu, Shrishti and Maaya. They all came running towards her. Panicked.

She was bombarded with questions.

"What happened?"

"Why did you scream?"

"Why were you sleeping on the floor."

"Were you crying?"

"Did you have a nightmare."

She was scared. The incidents earlier crushed her completely. And that scared expression was enough for Raj and Maaya to shut everyone up.

They pushed everyone out of the room but stayed with her themselves. They were the closest friends she had.

Tears flew out of Sameera's eyes when Maaya hugged her. They both didn't even utter a word. They never questioned her but tried to console her.

"Shhhhh.........nothing will happen. I'm here. We are here."

Raj said rubbing her back.
Sameera cried even more. She couldn't live without him. And that dream......it was petrifying. She wanted to tell everything to Maaya. But couldn't. She couldn't even breath properly let alone tell someone something.

She clutched Maaya's shirt. Trying to provide herself some support. But the extreme amount of pain she was feeling was not going away.

She must've cried for an hour and after that fainted.

Maaya lowered her on the bed and Raj covered her with a blanket. Raj had never seen Sameera in that state. She has cried many times in some emotional movies but this time she was crying like he cried when his mother died. It was depressing to see her like that.

Maaya gestured him to come out of the room and he nodded.

"How's she now?"
Shivam asked quickly and Maaya answered

"She cried. For the whole time she was not able to do anything other than cry. For the whole hour. Oh god!"

"What was the temperature of her body? Was she warm?"
Shrishti asked and Raj nodded.

"Thank god. If we would have been any more late she would have been in hypothermia. Her body was ice cold when we reached."
Pihu said and others nodded.

As it was her birthday they planned to party. But she was not picking up her phone and neither was she answering any messages. So they decided to just surprise her. But when they reached her house they only got surprised.

The door was opened and she was unconsciously lying on the ground in the most pathetic state ever.

Shivam picked her up and took her to her room. While others rubbed her palms and feet, Pihu called the doctor.
The doctor said that Sameera was fine. She fainted because of extreme stress and tiredness. And the long exposure to cold almost slipped her into the state of hypothermia.

"But what could have happened that she got in such a state?"
Shrishti asked and everyone shrugged.

"She was fine. I talked to her a day before yesterday. She was laughing and scolding her boyfriend for something. She hasn't told me anything."
Maaya said and suddenly Shivam roared

"Her boyfriend. Shouldn't he be here too? Atleast something?"

Realisation dawned upon everyone's faces. It was clear that Sameera loved her boyfriend very much by her talks and something regarding him might make her cry this much.

"Where is her phone? Let me call that bastard."
Maaya said and Pihu handed her the phone.

She dialled the number saved under 'old man'. But what surprised them was, that phone rang inside her house. In the room which was supposed to be spare. But it's condition told otherwise.

Maaya unlocked the phone and her face dropped.

"What happened? Is there any break up message?"
Shrishti asked and she shook her head in no. And then handed her the phone.

Everyone rounded around her and when she unlocked the phone everyone's jaw dropped.

Sameera's photo was set as the wallpaper!

"That's.............."

"Impossible right? Nobody would ever set a wallpaper of someone which they considered just a time pass."
Maaya answered Raj and everyone nodded.

"But for confirmation just check her messages, whatsapp and everything she has."
Maaya added and Shrishti nodded.

She checked everything on both the phones and nothing was there. Absolutely nothing regarding their relationship.

"There's nothing guys. Absolutely nothing."

They hummed in disappointment. And the most disappointed person was Raj.
Sameera was very important to him. He felt that she only was his elder sister and his mother.

His face had a frown on it and he didn't waste any moment before hugging Pihu. She was his cure.

He buried his face in Pihu's neck and she rubbed his back.

"Nothing will happen baby. She'll be fine again. You know she's strong right?"
Pihu said cooing and Raj nodded.

"I love you."
He whispered and she smiled to herself.

"I love you too."

And then they heard a sob. It was of none other than Sameera.

She was standing, leaning on the door frame. Her eyes were filled with tears. And hands were shaking.

"Sameera."
Maaya whispered and it didn't take a second more for Sameera to run to her and hug her.

Once again she cried and cried and cried and once again she fainted after crying for more than an hour.

This time they called a doctor and the doctor put her on glucose.

Maaya stayed with her and made everyone go home.

It was in the night, probably 11:00 pm when she woke up. Maaya was sitting there on the chair, scrolling her Insta.

She then with a hoarse voice said

"Maaya."

Maaya looked up and upon seeing her awake, she quickly handed her a glass of water.

Sameera didn't cry this time. She was feeling numb. Mumbling a thanks she gulped down all the water.

"Are you okay?"
Maaya asked and Sameera shook her head in no.

"No. I'm not. Can I........can I talk to Shrey one time?"
Her demand was odd to Maaya. But without any word she handed Sameera her phone.

She unlocked her phone and her breath hitched. For the first time in ages she had her wallpaper of someone other than Thalapathy Vijay. Now she had a selfie of her and Shrithik as her wallpaper.

With a heavy heart she called Shrey and he picked her phone up quickly.

"Hello?"

"Hey Shrey."
She said with her extremely tired and hoarse voice.

"Hey! What happened? Why are you sounding like you have-"

"Cried?"
She asked and he hummed. A dry chuckle left her lips.

"Because I have. I've cried for more than four hours today. And do you know why?"
She asked.

"Uh.....no?"

"Because of your best friend. When I'm telling him he hasn't hurt me then why does he have to think that he has? Now he's taken away from me by the lady that cursed him! She said that he should live in the guilt and do you know what he said? He said 'yes I should.' I can't believe it."
She yelled and Shrey's breath hitched.

Taken away? The lady who cursed him?

"What are you talking Sameera? What-"

"What I'm saying is the truth. Today she came and took him away. And I called you to ask that do you know everything about him? Every single detail? If yes then tell me everything. Because now I'm not gonna take a relaxed breath untill I get him back? Do you understand?!"

She shouted and Maaya flinched. She could see the extreme amount of determination in Sameera's eyes and hear it in her voice. She was looking dangerous. Like a devil possessed her.

"You know everything that I know. There's nothing he kept from you except the ways he tortured......you know.......the guy."
Shrey said and Sameera nodded.

"That's nice. Bye. Good night and if you remember anything just call me. Otherwise I'm not gonna spare you."
Saying this she hung up.

Taking deep angry breaths she tried controlling herself. But she couldn't control herself and threw the glass of water on the ground.

In the silent night it resonated loudly.
But her heartbeat was even louder in her ears.

"Sameera?"
Maaya asked sitting beside her and keeping her hand on her shoulder.

"Five months ago. I met him. Only I could see him. He was invisible."
She started and looked at Maaya who was listening to her attentively.

"You may not believe it but it's the truth. He was invisible but I could see him. He is a nice guy. Extremely handsome and even better at heart. Shrey was his best friend. Though Shrey could not see him, he talked to him.

That day when you asked me to return his phone was the day my life took a turn. I ended up befriending my old man. I ended befriending him. Then one day when their landlord kicked them out I offered for them to stay with me.

It was a nice time. All three of us laughed, watched TV and ate together. It was fun. And soon Shrey also left to Canada.

Leaving me with the guy who was like me. He was different than any other human I've met."
She said and turned to Maaya. Her eyes filling.

"He-he never used to gel his hair. And almost disliked the people who did. A-and you know he...he smelled like lobhan. Yes......lobhan. I don't know how. It...it was his natu-natural smell. And.....and he used to laugh a lot. Specially at me. Whatever I did amused him. I don't know why because we both were literally same. We even had same vedic zodiac.

And you know how he walked? He walked like a king. Like he owned the place and nobody could say anything to him. And even that walk of his never seemed arrogant. Ego was a thing that he never had. Never. From the day I met him to...t-to the day I lost him has he ever argued with me because of his ego. He-he used to wear lockets and pendants on his wrist. One time I bought him a nice locket with a sword pendant and he tied it on his wrist. Saying that things bit him when he wore them on his neck.
He surely was a strange guy who use to not drink coffee because it reduces sperm count."

She laughed lowly and continued

"He was there for me everytime. He came to Mumbai for me. There he had a bunglow of his own. Just in front of the Singhal's mansion. There, you know I saw a puppy getting his skull crushed. I was scared at that time. And you know what he did? He hugged me. And when we seperated we were in the zoo.

We lived together and obviously had an undeniable attraction towards each other. And you know I was at extraordinary ease with him. It took me less than a week to become such good friends with him that I am with you now. Guess that's because he is my soulmate.

And one day, in October he started going away. He used to not say anything to me. And then, getting fed up I finally asked him why he was having such behaviour. We ended up fighting and he slapped me. I was ready to kick him out but he came with beer bottles and knives and attacked himself. I was once again scared.

I made him sit and tried to bandage him but my touch was enough to heal him. Literally. Wherever I touched, his wounds healed. Then he left. He was missing for the next three days.

On the third night he came back all drunk. Was almost forcing himself on me and when I went in the balcony to get some fresh air he too came behind me. But he screamed. His body burnt. Purplish smoke came out of his body, his eyeballs went black and he was in pain.
I called Shrey and he told me that it was the day my old man was cursed. His body was getting healed by the moon as it was Sharad Purnima that night.

It was hard for me to get him inside and away from direct moonlight. I made him sleep but he woke up in the night. Crying.

He cried for straight three hours begging for forgiveness. In the morning he told me everything. Why he was cursed, and about his powers and everything. He could do almost everything. And that day we kissed for the first time.

After that everything was great. But one day, on Deepawali another girl could see him. Shivani, you remember her right? She asked us to meet her in a cafe the next day.

And when we went there she told us that my old man was cursed by some heavenly body and that we were soulmates. She could see him just because I was touching him.
And that I was the source of his powers. And yesterday he was taken away from me by the lady who cursed him."

And then Sameera growled
"I swear to go if-"
But Maaya hugged her. Shutting her up.

She knew that what Sameera was going to say would not be possible. She was a mare human. Only thing she could was try, try and try.
