The cut, was the start.
After that accidents started happening daily. One day a book with more than 1000 pages fell on her head in the library. After that a big pot filled with water also almost fell on her.

After that she dipped her hand in boiling water and burnt it. Her pigtail once even got caught in a table fan.
She was tired from all this.

"Hey! Sameera didi!"
Someone shouted and she stopped. Turning around she saw Jayant running towards her and she smiled.

"Hello didi. Ummm.........what happened?"
He asked looking at her bandaged state. She had a band-aid on her forehead. Her leg was wrapped. Her hand was also not in a good state.

"Nothing. It's casual."
She shrugged off and he laughed. It really can be casual.

"So.....how's college going? Any girlfriends?"
She asked teasingly and he shook his head blushing slightly.

"Not yet. Oh, I forgot. Dadi told me she wants to meet you. An-"

"That's so nice. What's your flat number? Tell me I'll be there today itself. Actually I can't come now as I have some work. But today till-"

Jayant shook his head and interrupted her.

"Noo. No didi. Dadi said that she'll come. Day after tomorrow. I assume that's your birthday right?"
He asked smugly and she looked at him confused. And then the bulb lit in her brain.

"Oh yeah. That's so nice of her."
She smiled and he nodded.

"By the way. If anyone bullies you tell me. I have three super big friends. They'll handle everything."
She said, referring to a time when she saw him talking to the bullies of her college. He nodded adorably at that.

"Sure di. I'll meet you later? My class will start in five minutes."
He asked and she nodded smiling.

"Bye."
She yelled when he started running.

She shook her head laughing when he bumped into a girl and became all flustered.

When she reached her home Shrithik was searching her wardrobe. Upon hearing her drop her bag turned around and sighed.

"Thank god you came. Do you have any tshirt that will fit me? Like properly fit me? Not suffocate me?"
He asked and she nodded slowly.

"I guess. But why? We do laundry regularly and like this only you just had no more tshirts left last month so we went shopping."
She said and rummaged through her wardrobe. Then took out one of his t-shirts only.

"I....uh....."
He stuttered and she narrowed her eyes.

"Tell me."
She asked and he gulped.

"I..........lost them?"
He more asked to himself and she smiled. Slowly her smile change into a small laugh.

Then snaking her arms around his neck she pecked him.

"I know that you donate your clothes to the street kids. I saw you one day. At night."
She said and he looked down at her. Blushing!

"Then why were you asking me. It was kind of embarrassing to say it out aloud you know."
He said and buried his face in her neck.

"You are so cruel."
He said when she laughed at him.

"So, should we go shopping? It is 3:00 pm now. We can go at 6. What do you say."

"As your wish."
He mumbled and unexpectedly picked her up. She squealed but he didn't give her any reaction.
As they were already in the bedroom, he layed her down on it and crawled upon her. God knows that how that worst feeling in the world came over him. That he was going to loose her. And as soon as that feeling came to him, he kissed her. He was aggressive once again. But this time his aggressiveness slightly hurted her. She tried to push him away but couldn't as he pinned her wrist above her head and slowed down.

Sameera moaned and he came back to his senses. Leaving her he lifted himself up a little, so that he could see her.
But upon seeing her, guilt filled him. Her lip was bleeding. It was small, but it was because of him.

Sameera could see that on his face. That guilt. And before he could leave, she pulled him towards her. Then forcefully buried his face in her neck.

Both didn't say anything. She just rubbed his back and he hugged her. Squeezing her.

"I'm so bad, sweetheart. I've hurt you so many times. But you don't say anything to me. I should not be with you."
He mumbled and she stopped. Then hit his head hard.

"If you say that one more time then I'll literally kill you. I'm not joking."

"But it's the truth. What if in the future I hurt you more. You will be the one to suffer."
He said and she smiled, kissing his ear.

"Do I look like the person to tolerate any kind of intended harm? Do I?"
She asked softly and he shook his head softly.

"Then?"

"I-"

"Day after tomorrow is my birthday. Do you remember?"
She asked suddenly, changing the topic and he grinned. Flipping them over so that now she was on top of him and pecked her nose, grinning.

"Of course I do. I've also ordered a big cake. Should we hold a party. Like a grand one?"
He asked and she shook her head in no.

"The cake is fine. No need for party. I want all the cake for myself. And.....I'll give you some too."
She grinned and he laughed.

"My sweet little sweetheart."
He kissed her cheek saying this and after that when they fell asleep, none of them knew.

Three hours later Sameera woke. On Shrithik. Slowly crawling down from him she made her way to the bathroom. When she was sure that she was looking decent enough to go to the market she woke him up.

He whined but woke up. She only made him wash his face, so that he was not sleepy and took him to the nearest mall.

Then she made her way directly in the Zara's section.

"There's no need for Zara sweetheart. Firstly it's expensive and secondly either I'm gonna ruin the t-shirt or give it to someone else."

He said and pulled her towards him. She rolled her eyes and dragged him in the store.

"We'll buy matching t-shirts. Then we'll wear them on my birthday and get a photo. Only one. After that we can go to any shop you want. And anyways you are only paying."
She grinned and he sighed.

"I should've known."

"Yes, you should've known."
She said and pushed him in the men's section. Afterall she also bought her clothes from that section.

Roaming around she didn't find much couple like. Well, it was not something they will wear except two tshirt. One was white with small black goggles on the right. And one was black with the same goggles on the right from white.

Sameera took the white one as he said that white suits her more than black. And Shrithik, he took whatever she gave him. Afterall she was the only one who could see him.

"Now........burger?"
She asked and he nodded.

"Sure. But without cheese okay?"
He said and she stilled. Then turning around she looked at him with questioning eyes.

"You've started avoiding cheese or what? I'm noticing that you've almost stopped eating it."

He snorted.
"Well half of the time you eat my things. And my food doesn't digest till you have eaten properly. And one burger is definitely not enough for you. And you can't eat two. So yeah. Without cheese."
He explained taking out his wallet.

It was truth. She needed two three more bites. After she has eaten hers. And those bites should be from his food.

Sameera turned around. Blushing. God! Never has she ever blushed so much. That guy was literally so sweet that even an extremely sweet Indian sweet will be nothing in front of him.

She ordered her two veg burgers and sat down on one of the tables.

"You are blushing!"
He exclaimed after a long staring competition. She looked away.

"Yes I am! Stop being so sweet and I'll stop blushing."
She exclaimed and he laughed.

"Not gonna happen sweetheart. I can't help but love this red face."
He laughed again and she puffed up her cheeks.

After his laughter died down he leaned towards her. She watched him as the distance between his lips and her cheeks decreased from one meter to one inch.

"Will this-"
But before he could complete his stupid pick up line, he felt something. He felt a presence. A presence that was new, but still he felt that he knew who it was.

And that scared him the most. It should not be of the one whome he was thinking it was of.

He jerked back and looked here and there. Trying to find the one person.
He stood up and turned around 180⁰. But could not see anybody.

And that was when he looked down and the tiles showed him the reflection of person he wished he would've never met.

Her two eyes were looking at him. Giving him a dangerous look. A look that said 'Now's the time to end it'.

Her eyes, they were warning him. They were warning him for something that she was gonna do and he'll not be able to do anything but watch.

And a small nagging feeling at the back of his mind said that Sameera was now in an extreme danger.

Without any word he turned around and held Sameera's wrist. She was confused at his sudden change in behaviour. But his eyes, stopped her from asking anything. She let him drag her out of the mall and then let him make her run.
She let him push her in a taxi and she let him push her back in the house. She let him lock the house and she let him squeeze the life out of her.

"Don't go anywhere. Please. Just a week. Stay inside. Please. Please sweetheart."
And she let him make her mind to not go anywhere.

Little did she know, that the cause because of which he was so freaked out was none other than her favourite teacher. None other than Maadhavi Shrivastava. None other than Jayant's grandma.
