Sameera didn't get an ounce of sleep. She was up whole night watching movies, listening radio and songs.
And her hiccups also didn't stop. She was hiccuping the whole time.

She was tired. At night she Googled it how to stop hiccups and did everything she could but her hiccups didn't stop. It was about 6:30 in the morning when Maaya came in the balcony. As soon as she saw Sameera hiccuping she said

"You still hiccuping? Last time how did it stop?"

"Last time........--hiccup-- .......um it stopped --hiccup-- oh yeah. Thankyou. I love --hiccup-- you."

She jumped up and shook Maaya's hand. Hopping towards her phone she quickly dialed Shrithik. Maybe he could help.

He picked his phone on fifth ring.

"Hello? Old Man."

"Yo. Sweetheart. Why did you call this early? It's just 7 in the morning."

"I --hiccup-- what are you doing?"

"Wait a minute."
As soon as he said this her phone pinged.

"Check it sweetheart."

"You --hiccup--sent it?"

"Yes."

She furrowed her brows and checked the message. It was a photo

She released a breath looking at the picture then snapped at him

"Old man! Who sends a photo like this to a girl? Wh --hiccup-- who?"

"Well I thought I should show my abs to somebody. And only you can see me."
He mumbled childishly and she huffed out her breath hiccuping.

"Leave that. Tell me something so --hiccup-- these hiccups will stop."

"Oh that. Take bath from cold water. Ice cold water. If it's not cold enough add 10-12 ice cubes."

"Are you crazy?"
She shrieked.

"Ice cold water in --hiccup-- this weather? I'll catch cold."

He rolled his eyes.
"Bye sweetheart. Take a bath. And remember from ice cold water. It should leave you shivering."

Saying this he hung up laughing. There were chances that she will bath with ice cold water. It was really odd but she trusted him a lot. Shrithik was now finally able to think about something else and relax. He was so scared that something has happened to his brain and he really considered going to a psychologist.

Sameera sighed and went back to the photo. Mumbling 'he has a nice body'.

She took a deep breath. Looks like she should try bathing with ice cold water. She quickly went towards the kitchen to bring ice. There was Maartha cooking something.

"Hey Maartha. If you don't mind can I take a ice tray with me? I'll bring it back."

Maartha looked up and smiled at Sameera.
"Of course mam."

Sameera smiled awkwardly at her and took a ice tray from the fridge and started making her way to her room.

But unfortunately, fortunately for Jay, she bumped into him. Where Jay smiled at her she just showed him the ice tray and with an emotionless expression went away.

Jay's smile faltered. In his five days of knowing her, he knew that she is not the kind of girl to be rude to anyone unnecessarily. It was clear that she gave all the Singhals a formal smile but she was emotionless a minute ago. It would have been better if she was angry.

Sameera quickly went into the bathroom of her room and dumped about 15 ice cubes in a bucket of water making it cold enough to freez something. She really didn't know why Shrithik told her to bath with ice cold water but she was going to bath with it.

She spent 45 minutes in the bathroom in the name of bathing. But she sat there, wasting time and reconsidering her decision and finally the next fifteen minutes, she bathed.
She came out of the bathroom shivering and hiccups a lot more than before. She quickly called Shrithik to ask him why his idea of bathing with freezing water didn't work.

Shrithik just came out of the bathroom himself after bathing from warm water. Upon hearing his phone ring he made a confused expression. He has told every single one of his client to not call him today. It was his rest day. Without Sameera, with good movies and food.

His confused expression changed into a mischievous grin as he saw who was calling him. He picked up the phone and mimicked

"The person you are trying to call is busy. Please try again later."

"Don't --hiccup-- joke old man. My hiccups still haven't --hiccup-- stopped. I even bathed with that freezing water."

He frowned hearing the seriousness in her tone.

"You bathed with freezing water?"

"Hmm."

"Sweetheart! I was just kidding. You didn't have to. Atleast you should have used some common sense. Who uses freezing water in this weather?!"
He scolded her. Sameera who was tired from hiccuping for 12 hours, who hasn't slept in 30 hours felt her eyes getting wet and lips quivering.

"Don't scold --hiccup-- me. You only told me to bath --hiccup-- bath with ice cold water. You are doctor and last time --hiccup-- you only stopped my hiccups. How will I --hiccup-- I understand whether you are joking or not. I haven't slept for 30 hours. I'm --hiccup-- I'm hiccuping for 12 hours.
I'm tired old man!! I'm tired!"
She yelled and then sobbed once.

Maaya and Shrishti looked at each other in surprise. They were not enlightened on the fact that Sameera was almost crying as she was in the balcony and they both were in the room. They just heard her yelling.

Sameera sobbed a little and composed herself quickly. She was not the one to cry in public. Be it her friends or not.

"Can you come here?"

For a moment she heard slience. Then his low and deep voice spoke

"Okay."

And the line was cut. She looked at her phone confused on the fact that how will he find her. She tried calling him again but he didn't pick up.

As she went inside the room Maaya asked
"Were you crying?"

Sameera looked at her in surprise.

"No, why would I?"

"I just saw you shaking and on a call. I didn't want to interrupt you that's why I said nothing."

"No. I was just --hiccup-- hiccuping you see. Nothing else."
She said and Maaya nodded, believing her as there were no tear stains on her cheeks, she was smiling like the goofy, idiot person she is and Sameera was not the one to cry on small things.

"Breakfast?"
Shrishti asked and Sameera shook her head.

"No. You go. I'm not in the --hiccup-- mood. My stomach is also full."

They both nodded and left the room while Sameera sat on the bed playing temple run.

Jay felt immense guilt chewing him when he didn't see her with her friends. But what can he do now? Absolutely nothing.

Sameera sat on her bed playing temple run for two hours. Maaya and Shrishti were in Pihu's room with the guys and Madhu. Sameera was now tired to the point where she wasn't even able to maintain a smile for more than two seconds.

She then felt the need to pee. Quickly standing up she went inside the bathroom. About five minutes later she came out and the first thing she saw was Shrithik sitting on her place on the bed eating an apple.

"--hiccup--"

Shrithik looked up to find a hiccuping Sameera who was trying to hide her smile. Somehow he always made her happy. He stood up and walked towards her. She looked at him in the eye. Somehow he was looking a little more good than usual. She didn't move an inch as he came and invaded her personal space. Then he lifted his hand. To anybody else it would seem like he was going to hold her waist but he just closed the door of the bathroom.

"You here? How --hiccup-- did you find me? I never told you the add-"

She was cut off by him keeping his finger on her lips, shuting her up.

"Shh. Have you eaten anything?"

She shook her head in no. And soon a bag full of food items was hanging in front of her face, blocking his face.
She took the bag out of his hand and looked at it. Then asked

"You knew I wouldn't have eaten?"

He nodded. Swinging his hand around her shoulder and turning her around and then walking towards the bed he spoke.

"I know everything sweetheart. I know everything. Now eat it."

Saying this he kept his hands on her shoulder and pushed her down, making her sit.

"I want all of that finished."

"But I am not hungry."

"I said eat. I'll be back in.....an hour. Bye. Finish it sweetheart."
Saying this he went in her balcony and jumped down. Sameera gasped and ran towards the balcony and looked down to find him already half way out.

She sighed and went back to the room looking at the food. And just a minute later her stomach grumbled. She rubbed her face and started eating the delicious food.

As said, he was back after an hour. But he was not greeted by a waking Sameera. She was sleeping on the sofa curled in a ball. For some reason he didn't smile. He was feeling something different. And the fact that he didn't knew what that feeling is, was keeping her from smiling, because he always knew what he wanted and what he felt.

Shrithik had a habit of reminding himself to not become serious. That's why he was laughing, smiling, making fun and doing hilarious things. Believe me you can't live in a same building with a serious Shrithik.

So once again he lifted his mood up. He had a speciality that he can change his mood according to his wish.

Now he sighed looking at her. She was curled so much that even a pillow will surpass her length sideways.
He pondered over wether she'll be angry or not if he lifted her up and placed her on the bed. But shrugged it off. It's not like she can do anything to him.

So he went towards her and slipped his hands under her knees and her back and lifted her up.

"She has lost some weight."
He mumbled to himself. It was a surprise that she didn't wake up on being lifted like that. She was not a light sleeper, but she wasn't also that of a deep sleeper that she'll be asleep even when she's in the air.

He gently placed her on the bed and covered her with a duvet. Lightly removing the traitor strand of hair that got out from her braid he tucked it behind her ear. Switching the lights off he left.

Wishing her a good sleep.
