Shrey managed to get a look at Sameera's phone and asked about her to Maaya without making anything clear.

Shrey also intentionality left his phone with Maaya. He has told her his address and also some serious bragging about his phone.
This way she can come to his house and he can meet her.

That guy is crushing on Maaya from the day he saw her. Maaya had soft dark brown curly hair like him. And her hairs were what he loved the most. It will be a good opportunity to befriend her. He was smiling broadly and to say Maaya was not smitten by his charming self was absolutely wrong.

Maaya noticed that he left his phone and also remembered that how he told him about 'many' documents he had in it. But sadly she cannot go to give it back to him.
Today she had to go early.

"Oi, Maaya. Don't overthink. Already you have a small brain." Sameera laughed and threw herself on the chair beside Maaya's.

"Oh shut up. Atleast I have one. You seem to be lacking one."

"You've got a point. But what happened? You looked in a deep sad thought."

Maaya looked at her and nodded.
"You remember Shrey?"

Sameera nodded.
"Yeah that cute, handsome nerd who is your senior, who has you smitten?"

Maaya glared but nodded.

"Yeah, today I talked to him. And he left his phone with me."

Sameera raised her eyebrows, scrunching her nose confused.

"So? Keep it with you. Give him tomorrow. He'll be very grateful. Or do you want me to break it's lock?"

"Oh nononononono."
Maaya threw her hands in air and shook her head no.

"He told me he has a assignment to complete. A very important one and all his documents were in his phone. That poor guy must be finding it."

"So go and give it to him if you worry so much."
Maaya looked at her and sighed.

"I can't. I have to go early today." Then she looked up at Sameera and tried making her puppy dog eyes.

"Why don't you go? Please. I'll give you treat."

Sameera shook her head no.
"No! I'm not going,-"

But she was cut off by her friend.
"Please. I'll give you a treat. Please."

"Fine, give me his address."

Maaya nodded and started telling her.

"Wait! How do you know where he lives. Don't tell me Maaya, you've become a stalker."

Maaya hit her head and denied.
"God- no. He told me today itself."

"Ooh."

She looked at the address scribbled on the paper. It was just two buildings away from her apartment.

Shrey waltz in his apartment and threw his bag on the sofa and it directly hit Shrithik on his face. He threw it back at Shrey.

"Oh, you are here. Didn't see you." Shrey said with sarcasm dripping from his voice.

Shrithik rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, I am. Any problem? And do you get anything?"

"Yes. I talked to her. She's such a polite girl. She's beautiful. She is also very intelligent. And you know her hobbies are almost same as mine. And you know her big brown eyes complimented her pale skin."

Shrey said dreamily.
"She's compatible for me in every way."

Shrithik nodded but then his words registered.
Compatible? Pale skin? Brown eyes?
As much as he remembered Sameera had a beautiful walnut coloured skin and her eyes were definitely black.

"Wait a minute. About whome are you even talking about?"

"Maaya."

"I asked about Sameera idiot. Do you get any clue about who this Hunter Maddox is?"

Shrey frowned and then nodded to thin air.

"Let's Google it." Shrithik nodded and sat beside Shrey peeking at his phone over his shoulder.

Search results came and were not very encouraging.

"Do you think it's this one?" Shrithik asked pointing at one tab.

"Which one?"

"The one I am pointing to."

"I can't see your finger idiot. Name it."

Shrithik clicked open the tab. But it was quickly closed by Shrey.

"No, it's not. Look at this.
' Badboy is a virgin' Wattpad. I think I saw this app on her phone. Lets look at it. It also has a Hunter Maddox."

Shrithik hummed and Shrey opened it. It was a story. They started reading it.

It was third chapter of that story when it way confirmed that the Hunter Maddox she was talking about is the same character.

"Yeah!! We found it."
They both were doing a weird winning dance when the door slowly opened revealing Sameera.

She opened the door and revealed herself awkwardly, waving Shrey's phone. She was surprised to see Shrithik here. Maybe he lives here. Nobody would know because of his invisibility.

"Uh...Maaya had to go somewhere and she forced me to return it to you because you have some assignment. So.....here."
She said handing the phone out.

Shrey sighed.
"This is not what I thought."

Shrithik let out a small laugh and patted his back.
"It's ok dude. Get yourself together."

"He can see you?" She asked Shrithik referring to Shrey.

"No, but I am his bestfriend."
Shrey said looking proud. Sameera nodded and started going after muttering a thankyou.

Questions were swirling in her mind.
How was Shrey invisible's friend.
How did they know each other.
How did they communicate.

There was only one way to know which was to ask them directly.
She turned around and was met with a hard chest of Shrithik who was coming to stop her. She looked up at him, rubbing her temple she asked

"Uff..... Invisible? How do you know each other? How do you communicate?"

"Calm down sweetheart. Get inside I'll tell you."

She nodded and followed him. Shrey was almost ready to leave for work.
He smiled at her.

"Thankyou for the phone. And I hope this idiot, wherever he is doesn't annoy you much."

She smiled at him and nodded. He left, leaving Shrithik and Sameera alone.

"You want anything?"

Shrithik asked and she nodded.

"Coffee will do fine."
After a minute or two they both were sitting facing each other sipping their coffee.

"So, how do you get invisible?"
She started.

"I was cursed." She nodded a bit surprised. Cursed? Like, seriously?

"Why did you get cursed?"
The question he was dreading the most. He knew it would come but not this soon.

Reading the look of hesitation Sameera spoke.
"You don't need to tell me."

Relief washed over his features. There was silence for a few minutes which was broken by Sameera.

"How does your invisibility work? And how are you wearing these clothes. That day at the mall also, nobody seemed to look at you. I mean yes, you are invisible but shouldn't your clothes be visible. To be invisible shouldn't you be walking naked?
At least the bag you were holding should be visible?"

"Sweetheart, I am cursed. It's not because of science. It's like...... conduction. If I'll touch non living things then they will also be invisible."

"So, this sofa on which you are sitting is invisible?"

He shook his head no.

"Right now you said any non-living thing."
She argued.

"Yeah that true but there is a limited size. Like I can make a bag full of groceries invisible by touching it but not a sofa. There is a limit."

"Ooh!"
She looked at her feet processing everything.

"Sweetheart, your cup."
She looked at her cup to see it empty.
She handed it to him and asked.

"Did you find it?"
He raised his eyebrows not knowing what she was talking about.

"I told you to not call me sweetheart unless you find out who Hunter Maddox is. So do you know?"

He smirked and leaned down so his face was in front of hers.

"I did sweetheart. I did."

She was not convinced. Who knows that he is telling the truth. For all she knew he could be lying.

"Then who is he, Invisible?"

Shrithik made a face at his name.

"Badboy is a virgin, main character , Wattpad. Am I right or am I right?"

Sameera nodded.
"How do you know?"

"I have my ways."

Sameera got up and calmly said

"Now it is confirmed that you are a stalker. How do you even managed to find it out in one day huh? I am going."

She was going because it was getting late, but he didn't need to know.

"Hey, wait. You cannot go like this. I am not a stalker, for your information."

He said sassily. Sameera had a her brows furrowed and bored look.

"I mean, I didn't stalk you. And you said you'll be my friend if I found out."

"I said something like that?"

"Yes you did."

"Well, I don't remember it and it's getting late. I should go. Bye."

She waved at him and started walking.
But was stopped by him.

"Wait. I'll walk you home."

"There's no-"

"I said I'll walk you home."
She nodded at his stern voice. She wanted to tell him that she can go by herself and to not use that tone on her. But she didn't. She was getting a free bodyguard and also it will sound rude.

Once he was out and the door was locked they started walking, silently.
She saw a dog and a question popped up.

"Can a dog see you?"

He was quite tall so she tilted her head up. He looked down at her then straight and answered a no.

"Not a single soul, except you can can see me. Not even a dog. But why would think a dog would be able to see me?"

"In movies, dog are able to see ghosts."

"I am not a ghost."

"You surely look like one though."

He looked at her wondering did she just insult him?

"How old are you?"

"Umm....I was cursed in 1975 and this is 2021, and at that time I was 24, so now I am 70 years old."

(There is no corona in this book)

"Wow you are an old man. This is the age of my grandmother. But why didn't you age?"

"I don't know but I didn't. From the time I was cursed I am like this. I don't get sick and don't age."

"That's so cool. You will be able to see how the world has changed in 31st century. With great eyes."

Shrithik frowned. He didn't want to live that long. He wanted this curse to break. Or at least to die. He even tried to take his life before, but it all went in vain.

Sameera looked at him and mirrored his expression.

"Why are you like this suddenly. No, don't tell me but you are looking like a monkey. A cute monkey."
Last part was not meant to be heard by him but he did.

"You think I am cute?"

"All dogs are cute."

Shrithik once again gaped at her. Did she insult him again? He didn't know what was happening to him. She was insulting him and he was saying nothing. If it were Shrey or someone else he would have replied with a snarky remark, but he didn't. Comebacks were at the tip of his tongue, but somehow they didn't slip out.

He wanted to say that at first she said a cute monkey and now she is saying a dog, but he kept quiet.

"Thanks for walking me home, I appreciate it. Good bye."

"Why good bye?"

"Cause, I don't wanna met you anymore Invisible. Hope you have a good day."

Without waiting for any response she left. Shrithik sighed. He still didn't know that whether he was a friend of her or not. But it was good talking to someone who can see you.
