It was near end of the July and monsoon has started. Sameera was not a big fan of rainy season. Sure it was good when it rained but she didn't like the aftermath.
Shrithik on the other hand loved it.

And he also had some weird imagination about seasons. Like there was a queen who made this world. Then she made summer and made all people work because it has long days. But then she saw how people were exhausted and she felt guilty and started crying, which caused rain.
Then she saw that her crying has not helped at all so she made winter.
But when she saw that people started chilling and relaxing she got angry and once again started summer.

Though he knew that his imagination was a crap but he still liked it.

It was raining then. Shrithik was sitting in the balcony. He waited for the rain to stop so Sameera could come home. He told her to take an umbrella with her, but being herself she refused.
He waited for five more minutes, from the looks of it, he knew that the rain was not going to stop soon. So he took an umbrella and decided to go and pick her up.
He just reached the ground floor when he saw her running towards the building. She quickly got in and gasped for air. You should never run in the rain.

He rolled his eyes and stood in front of her with his arms cross and a brow raised.
He was standing in a sassy position and Sameera couldn't help but find it hot.
They both stood in silence for a minute which was broken by him.

"Tch. Come on."
He took her by her wrist and guided her towards their apartment. Sameera was glad that he didn't say that he told her to take an umbrella.
One more reason that she has not kicked him out was this. He didn't like to do that told you so, thing.

"Go take a bath from warm water. I'll make you some soup."
He ordered and entered inside the kitchen without waiting for her response. Sometimes Sameera thought, he didn't like answers. He never waited for one.

Shrithik made a hot bowl of soup and kept it on the dining table. Though he could make good soup he despised it.
He was sitting on the sofa when she came out with her slightly wet hair.

His mouth went ajar. Her black hair were reaching down her hips. They were silky smooth. It was probably the first time he saw their actual length. She was looking beautiful. He didn't know but he was breathing heavily.

Shrithik rarely stared at anybody so it was quite weird for Sameera. She quietly sat down on a chair and started eating her soup. He was still staring at her.

"Old man! Don't stare at me."
She said taking him out of his trance.

"Huh?"

"I said don't stare at me."
He could see her lips moving but somehow her voice was not reaching his ears.

"Huh?"
She sighed. He's not gonna get it anytime soon so she just stood up and walked back into her room after washing the bowl.

Shrithik was confused. Did he do something? Why did she go? What was she saying?

Deciding that he was not gonna get his answers soon, he went to sleep as it was pretty late.

Next morning Sameera woke up with her body feeling a little sore. She just shrugged it off, thinking of it as an effect of sleeping too much.
She was not feeling that energetic she felt everyday but she forced herself to be energetic.

"Here, your breakfast."
Shrithik came out with two plates of steaming hot upma in his hands.

Sameera shook her head and denied.
"No old man. I'm not hungry. I'll eat in the cafeteria afterwards. Bye."

Saying this she waved him and left. Shrithik sighed. He knew something was wrong, because usually she wakes up hungry. And her eyes were also looking a little tired.

She was unusually quite today. Everyone could feel it.

"Sam?"
Maaya said.

"Yes?"

"Are you feeling okay?"

Sameera made a confused face.

"Yes. Why?"

"You look tired."

"And your eyes are also red."
Raj added.

"Of course, I am fine. What will happen to me? It's just because I used too much phone, I guess."
She said and once again sat quietly occasionally talking.

She was waiting for Shrithik. Her eyes were literally glued to the cafeteria door. Usually Shrithik came when it was lunch. But today was an exception.
She remembered him telling her that he has got many assingnmennt requests.
Maybe he was busy working on those.

Sameera was right. Shrithik was actually busy working on those. But his mind was somewhere else. He was wondering whether she had eaten or not. From what he knew her eating habits were a bit odd.
Not that she starved herself, but she didn't know when she was hungry until she was extremely hungry. So she didn't eat.

He thought that she would have eaten by now. And continued his work. It was gonna get him a great amount of money.

It was something like seven in the evening when she came home. She was feeling tired.

"I'm home."
She said loudly. She was feeling tired doesn't mean that she'll act tired.

Shrithik came out of his room and one glance at her told him that she didn't eat anything. He crossed his arms in front of him and asked seriously.

"You ate something?"

"No. I was not hungry."

With the same expression he spoke
"Go, freshen up and be seated on that chair in the next fifteen minutes."

She looked at him confused.

"What?"

"I know you heard me in the first time. Now do as I say."
Saying this he went inside his room.

"Rude."
She muttered but decided that obeying him will be good for her sake.

After about twenty minutes Sameera was ready and seated on a chair of dining table, while Shrithik was doing something in the kitchen.

Two minutes later he came with a plate full of khichdi. Though she liked it, but she was not hungry.
He placed it in front of her and spoke with a same blank but serious expression
"Eat."

"I am not hungry, old man. I'll eat it when I am-"

"Sweetheart, you've been on a single bowl of soup for the last twenty four hours. And before I feed you myself, eat it."

"But-"

"Eat!"
He spoke with a stern expression. She nodded quietly and ate few bites. She looked up at him. He was standing with his arms crossed over his chest with a serious expression. Sameera has never seen him like this. He's always playful, but right now he was looking scary.
Now she whole heartedly believed that he could be a badboy. An intimidating badboy for whome cute is really an insult.

She gulped and ate all of the food kept in front of her.

"I'm full."
She said. He nodded quietly, took her plate and went in the kitchen.

Sameera got up and sat on the sofa with her eyes closed. She was feeling sleepy.

"Here."
Shrithik's voice made her open her eyes.
He was holding a tablet and a glass of water.

"What is this?"

"You are sick and this is called a medicine. You were drenched in rain yesterday. Remember?"

"Yeah, but I don't need it. I am not sick."

"Yes you are."
He touched her forehead with the back of his hand.

"Look, you are even hot. Now eat this."

"Old man. I'm just tired. I'll be fine tomorrow. And, a-"

He kept the tablet in her mouth. She was going to take it out but he held the glass to her lips and forced some water in her mouth.

"Gulp it."

He said and she looked at him with an angry expression.

"Drink it, sweetheart. It's not gonna harm you."
She drank it eventually.

He smiled and patted her head.
"That's like a good girl. Now go sleep."

Without saying anything she angry stood up and went to her room. Slamming her door shut loudly.

Shrithik knew that she didn't like taking medicine. And he also knew that she'll be perfectly fine tomorrow. Flew can also be dangerous if not taken care of. And being a doctor, he knew it very well.

Sameera was feeling better, next day. When she came out rubbing her eyes next day, Shrithik asked her softly
"Feeling better?"

She nodded.
"I still would have been okay, without the medicine."
She spoke sleepily.

He smiled at her and nodded.

Today Shrithik was free so he decided to tag along with Sameera. They were talking when they reached her college.

Raj was pointing a finger at Sasha and saying something which made Sasha flinch. Two tear drops fell from her eyes.
Shrithik and Sameera both looked at each other, confused.

"Guys, what's going on?"
She asked. Seeing that Sameera was here, everybody's expression changed. They acted like nothing happened.
Raj looked at her and stormed out.

She looked around, Pihu was also nowhere to be seen.

"Maaya, what happened?"

She asked. Maaya just shrugged.

"Nothing. You know him, right? He just got angry. Nothing much."

Sasha sobbed. Sameera knew Raj very well. He'll not lash out on a girl he didn't know, without any reason.
Knowing that she was not going to get answers from her friends, she turned to Sasha.

"What happened. And why are you crying?"

"Nothing has happened Sameera. Leave it."
Shrishti said.

Sameera ignored her.
"Sasha, tell me what happened."

Sasha was a bitch. Anybody who had eyes, can see how good looking Raj was. She tried to sleep with him, even when she has known him for just one day. Raj declined. Pihu didn't know about this, and was being her usual sweet self.
Sasha got angry and said many bad things to her, making Pihu cry. And when Raj got to know it, he threatened Sasha to stay away otherwise he'd do something he'll regret.

Sasha being the bitch she was tried to play the victim card. She knew Sameera was kind enough to hear her out.

"I didn't do anything. I just came with Maaya and Pihu started yelling at me. Saying bad things. When I responded she started crying and Raj came."

Sameera couldn't help but smile. Who was this girl trying to fool. Pihu can never do anything like that.
Smiling she spoke

"Leave."

Sasha strained her ears.
"What?"

"I said leave."
Sameera was still smiling.

"But I didn't do anything."

"Bitch! You made Pihu cry. Don't play the victim card."
Shivam snarled.

"I'm not-"
Sasha was cut of by Sameera grabbing her jaw. Surprisingly she was still smiling.

"I'm telling you to leave. If you leave when you have time, it will be good. Otherwise I have no problem in slapping you so hard that you stumble out of the campus. Am I understood?"

Sasha nodded weakly, because Sameera had a tight grip on her jaw.
Sameera left her jaw. Bruise has started forming on her jaw.

"Leave."
Once again she spoke and Sasha started leaving.

"Sasha!"
She stopped her.

"Next time, try to fool somebody else. I know my friends well. And don't play the victim card ever again. A face like that can never be innocent."
She snarled.
This was the time rudness actually was present in her tone.

Sasha ran out. All her friends knew that Sasha was gonna spend one night crying till she'll be asleep.
Sameera always smiled while handling this kind of encounter. And somehow, people at the other hand felt so much bitterness. It was good that Sameera was not angry. Otherwise shit would have gone wrong.

"Okay! So it's over. Stop with your gloomy faces and somebody call those two lovebirds."
She said cheering everybody.

Shrithik sat beside Sameera. His mind was replaying the moment which happened a minute ago.
Her lips were curved in a sinister smile.
Her sinister smile, it felt familiar. Very familiar.

"What are you thinking?"
She asked quietly.

"Do you have any sister? Or brother?"

She furrowed her brows. Why was he asking this all of a sudden.

"Yeah, why?"

"Your smile. When you held her jaw, it was evil. It felt familiar."

Sameera chuckled.

"You smile that way old man, when you have something mischievous going on in your mind. That's why it felt familiar."
