'You look so amazing in Indian.' Ahaan complimented as they entered a nearby café. Ahaan had wanted to say this since he saw her outside their apartment. Rifaat smiled, 'Thank you.'

The café is full, as they entered Ahaan's phone rang. He took out his mobile and groaned on seeing Yash's name flashed on the screen. Yash gossips like a woman.

'You look for the seat I will come in a second.' Ahaan excused himself and Rifaat nodded. Once, he left Rifaat looked around searching for an empty seat. Today the café is full and hardly any seat is empty. Rifaat stretched her neck little and searched. As she looked her gaze fell on a man in a white suit. He stood by the counter waiting for his order. Rifaat frowned as she felt his back oddly familiar. She is about to look away when the man turned his head to his right showing his side profile.

Rifaat's heartbeat quickened and her eyes widened on realizing the man is Hariz. She stumbled back. She stared at him frightened as she held the nearby chair for support. Hariz turned his head back looking front, Rifaat stared at his back. She stood there frozen- Hariz is here?

Suddenly, the depressing two years ago, flashed before her eyes. Her palms began sweating and tiny sweat beads formed on her forehead. She gulped as he turned around before he could look up Rifaat quickly turned around. Her chest heaving as her breathing quickened.

She could feel him walking towards her direction, she began fidgeting with the hem of her dupatta. She felt paranoid.

Rifaat wiped her sweat and hurriedly left the café.

Ahaan had a hard time cutting Yash's call, he had to speak slightly louder to make him stop talking. Finally, he shoved his mobile in the back pocket of his jeans. As he is about to enter the café when he dashed with Rifaat.

'Rifaat?' Ahaan said surprised. But she ignored him and walked past him, it was like she didn't even recognize him.

Ahaan called her name but she ignored him, and quickly took an auto and left. Ahaan is utterly confused.

After few minutes, he thought perhaps Rifaat suddenly remembered an important work and left. He then decided to have a coffee.

Ahaan got himself a black coffee and sugar-free eggless cupcake and looked around for an empty. There wasn't any seat except one opposite a man in a white suit.

'Is this seat taken?' Ahaan asked the man. The man looked up from his plate full of pasta.

'No.' he said dryly.

Ahaan didn't get good vibes from the man, nevertheless, he decided to sit here as there isn't any empty seat.

'May I sit here?' he asked

The man looked at him up and down and then nodded, 'I was hoping to have a beautiful hot woman sit here but for now you will do.' He said turning his attention back to his plate. Ahaan frowned, he then decided to drop the matter.

Oblivious about their identities, Ahaan and Hariz sat opposite each other silently having their snacks.

Rifaat was in tears by the time the auto halted in front of her apartment, she paid the driver and turned around rushing inside the locality. Now, she didn't stop her tears. She then locked herself in her apartment.

*********************************

I had been living like a zombie, and you came like a fresh air. Don't think this to be some cheesy lines, trust me I love you. I sincerely love you.

Whenever I see you with some other boys or if any other boy pay attention to you, I burn, I burn with jealousy because I love you. Rifaat, I truly love you.

You are the first and the last girl in my life, I truly love you.

Rifaat, I am earning right what is the use of you to work? don't you believe in me.

What was he doing? You are giving him wrong signals...are you sleeping with him?

SMACK!

Next time you go close to any other man, remember this.

Whose child is it, I am sure it's that Michael's. He keeps coming here when I am out for work. You slut, you can't be with men back in office so you have started ****ing men in my house.

Don't annoy me, woman.

I am sorry, you found out like this Rifaat, but this is the truth.

I fell out of love with you.

Rifaat woke up with a jolt as her phone rang loudly. She looked around, she had slept off cuddled up in the corner of her room. Her cheeks dried with tear stains and her eyes swollen. She sniffed and wiped her eyes with the back of her palm. She looked at her mobile.

20 missed calls and 10 messages from Ahaan. She then remembered she had left the café in such hurry that she didn't speak with Ahaan. Rifaat switched off her phone and stood up. Ahaan has been very good with her, he doesn't deserve to be treated this way. She didn't bother freshening up and left her room.

Outside she glanced at the wall-clock, 10 pm. No wonder, Ahaan is worried sick. Knowing there is someone caring for her Rifaat felt better, she felt secured knowing Ahaan is thinking about her, looking for her.

She left her apartment.

Ahaan is pacing frantically in the living room, he had called Rifaat many times but no response. Since morning, even her apartment door is locked from inside. Now it is night. He ranged the bell thousand times but again no response. Ahaan is now dead worried. He didn't like the look of Rifaat when she had hurriedly left the café. He had a feeling something was wrong. He now cursed himself as to why he didn't stop her then.

At around 9 he had a bad fight with the watchman when he had demanded they break down Rifaat's apartment's door. But the watchman kept refusing and he eventually lost his cool.

Ahaan decided to take matter in his own hands, he decided he will the break the door himself. He rushed towards his main door. As he opened the door he saw Rifaat standing in front of him. Her head lowered, her hair messy, nose swollen, lips dry and cheeks strained with dry tears. She is wearing the same dress from morning, but unlike in the morning now she looked disheveled.

Seeing her in his condition made Ahaan's heart churn with agony. Slowly, she looked up into his eyes. Her blood shot eyes stabbed his heart.

'Rifaat!' he managed to say after a while.

She didn't say anything simply leaned forward wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his chest. Words failed her when she saw genuine concern for her in his eyes, fresh tears made their way from her eyes.
