The party officially kicked off after Mr. Siddiqui came. Rifaat felt her jaw hurt as she was introduced to her Uncle and Aunt's friend circle. Business men and their trophies, few business women as well (the business woman being Mr. Siddiqui's acquaintance) As Rifaat sat in the business circle she kept looking at Ahaan's table, where he and Jenni sat, at times talking. Rifaat couldn't even eat properly. Out of formality Rifaat hardly had anything. She also felt uncomfortable glancing at Ahaan's table.

As Ahaan ate a little of his food got stuck in the corner of his lips. Jenni noticed it. She extended her hand and brushed it off. Ahaan is taken aback and looked at her.

'There was something there.' She pointed towards his lips.

'Thank you.' Ahaan smiled awkwardly. Rifaat didn't like watching this, she quickly looked away. After that she tried harder not to look, instead, she had her gaze stuck on her plate throughout.

After they had their food and drinks Jenni asked Ahaan if he would like to dance with her. Ahaan felt little awkward dancing. Even though many couples danced, including the boss and his wife, Ahaan felt like the spotlight will be on him. His friends will surely tease him later.

'Please.' Jenni pouted. Looking at her Ahaan nodded. He stood up and gave his hand to her.

'Will you dance with me?' he smiled at her.

'Of course.' Jenni blushed placing her palm over his. Ahaan then led her to the dance floor. Rifaat felt terribly jealous watching Ahaan and Jenni dance together. Her gaze fell on his arm that held Jenni's waist and she felt uncomfortable. She took a sip of a cocktail and watched them move to the soft tunes. After sipping half of the cocktail Rifaat decided to take the matters into her own hands. Though she had rejected every offer to dance she decided she will ask Ahaan herself. She got down her chair and walked towards them.

'Excuse me.' she cleared her throat. Ahaan and Jenni stopped dancing at looked at her. A smile appeared on Ahaan's face as he saw Rifaat.

'If you don't mind, may I dance with Ahaan?' Rifaat tried her best to sound sweet and not come out as fake. Jenni didn't want to agree but she did as Rifaat is the boss's niece and she can't afford to offend her. She nodded and left Ahaan hesitantly. Rifaat smiled at her. Jenni cursed under her breath as she walked towards another table where her girlfriends are.

'Hey!' Ahaan smiled at Rifaat. She smiled at him.

Ahaan felt his heart race and his hand trembled. Rifaat shook her head and held his hand placing it on her waist. As his fingers touched little of her back, Rifaat felt her heart flutter. Ahaan placed his other arm around her waist as well as Rifaat loosely wrapped her arms around his neck. She held his gaze with hers as they moved slowly to the tune.

'Too bad, they aren't playing 90's tune.' Rifaat said admiring him. Ahaan pretended to feel bad. She smiled at him, but her smile turned into a serious expression as she stared into his eyes. Once again, she saw something strange in them. She saw love. She quickly looked away, her gaze falling on his lips. She recollected Jenni touching the corner of his lips and once again she felt a pang of jealousy. As if in a daze, she extended her hand and touched his lips with her fingers. Ahaan is surprised. He felt goose bumps. She moved her fingers and looked up into his eyes again. They had stopped dancing, instead, they have their gaze fixed on each other. Ahaan felt slightly awkward, he held her hand and twirled her around. Rifaat smiled. They face each other again. Ahaan smiled at her.

'I am your friend. You should have asked me first.' Rifaat expressed her disappointment.

'You should have asked me. Jenni asked me first, so.' Ahaan answered with a smile. Rifaat smiled, 'Waah! Girls are now asking you out. Kya baath hai. I forgot that you aren't the same fatso that you had been.' Rifaat said. Ahaan nodded, 'It was just a formality. I am not interested in Jenni.' He said.

Strangely, Rifaat felt good.

'So, did you have girlfriends?' she looked at him holding her breath. Ahaan smiled and nodded, 'Yeah, but no one clicked.' Ahaan admitted honestly.

'Why?' Ahaan shrugged. Rifaat looked away for a while, she looked at her arms for a moment before looking back at Ahaan.

'What kind of girl you want?' she asked

"You" Ahaan had wanted to say, instead he said, 'I want someone who understands me, loves me for who I am, as a person and not how I look.' Ahaan said. Rifaat smiled, 'The girl who gets you will surely be lucky.' A sad smile came on her face as she looked behind Ahaan. She thought of Jenni dancing with Ahaan also the thought of Ahaan getting the perfect girl, who isn't her, made her sad. She shook her head and looked at him, she moved her arms from around his neck and held his arm.

'Let us go home, your home. This music sucks, we will dance to the 90's music.' She smiled at him.

'My home?' Ahaan raised his eyebrow.

'Why any problem?' Rifaat asked.

Ahaan thought for a while and looked at her, 'I am fearful of my izzat now.' Ahaan teased. Rifaat laughed. Ahaan smiled.

'Don't worry, your izzat is in safe hands.' Rifaat winked at him. Ahaan pretended to look fearful. Rifaat wanted to pinch his cheeks, he looked so cute. Rifaat then excused herself to talk to her Uncle.

'Jenni. Come I will drop you home.' Ahaan said to Jenni. She looked disappointed, her girlfriends insisted Ahaan that they will drop her back home. No one wanted to leave this early. Ahaan felt responsible for Jenni and hence decided to drop her home (Rifaat was to come by her Uncle's car). After Jenni assured him she will be fine and Shweta will drop her then only Ahaan left her. 'Look...' one of Jenni's friend nudged her arm gesturing towards Ahaan and Rifaat walking together.

Ahaan and Rifaat talked to each other walking towards the parking lot.

'He came with you, but going with her.' Shweta said with a scowl.

Jenni felt annoyed.
