"Austin!"

I turn around and am met with my favourite pair of blue eyes. "Indy," I mumble and wrap my arms around her tightly. She giggles into my shirt as she wraps her arms around my neck.

Although I saw her just a month ago for her graduation. Both of us had now officially graduated and here we are, back in New York for a little bit until I have to go back to California for my hospital residency. Indy was going to come with me.

After we graduated, Indy and I decided to get rent an apartment together in California so that we could live together while I complete my residency. "Mhm, I missed you," I mumble. She giggles softly before pulling away. She leans up, pouting her lips a little bit and getting the message, I lean down and place my lips on hers.

"I love you," she grins once we pull away. "Alright, alright break it up you two," At the sound of Ryan's voice both of us turn. Indy smiles sheepishly before removing herself from my embrace. "Ryan!" she squeals and hugs him.

"Hey there," he chuckles and kisses her head. "Where's Ace?" She asks and he rolls his eyes playfully. "Not even 2 seconds of attention to your brother and you're asking for Ace?" He grumbles.

She smiles and shows him her tongue playfully. "He's upstairs," I say and she looks at me and grins. "This is why I love you," she pulls away from Ryan and leans up to kiss me on my chin before rushing upstairs.

"Hey, Ryan. I've got to talk to you," I mumble. "What?" He asks.

"Yeah," I nod. "Uh, in fact, I've got to talk to all of you. Isabelle, Jay, Bryan. All of you," I say. His eyebrows furrow. "Everything good?" He asks.

"Yeah," I nod. A small smile takes place on my lips, "Uh, yeah. Things are pretty damn awesome."

"Inds," I mumble and look up at her from my position on her chest. "Hmm?" She asks. "Wanna go out on a date tonight?" I ask. "Sure," she runs a hand through my hair.

"Alright," I smile and lean up and peck her lips. "Fuck you're so pretty," I say as I look into her blue eyes. She blushes and I lean forward kissing her cheek which makes her dimple pop out and I kiss her dimple.

"Stop," she pushes my face away playfully. "Stop what?" I grin. She rolls her eyes but leans forward and kisses my nose. I scrunch my nose in response.

I get off her and move up on the bed, placing my head on the pillow next to hers. I lay on my side and look at her. "Macy's?" I ask. Her eyebrows furrow. I chuckle, "Wanna go to Macy's for our date?" I bring my hand forward and tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Duh," she smiles and turns her head kissing my hand. "You know after like almost 5 years I think we should be a little less touchy and lovey," I mumble. "Never," she shakes her head. "You're my big grumpy teddy bear," she giggles and throws her arm around me.

"Shut up," I grumble but pull her closer to me and shove her face in the crook of my neck before snuggling her. "See, you're a literal teddy bear," she giggles in a muffled voice.

"Fuck off," I mumble though I have a smile on my face.

I love her so much. And I love being her 'big grumpy teddy bear' especially if it means that I can snuggle her like this forever.

As I take a deep breath, I pocket the red square box in my hand. I'm so fucking nervous.

This is it, today is the day I ask the love of my life to be mine forever and hopefully, she says yes.

If she doesn't say yes, I swear to god I'll show her exactly how grumpy and annoying I can get. She just has to say yes. Without her, I'm a grumpy asshole- according to Zac and he isn't wrong.

"Hey, Aus," I look at my room entrance at my father who is smiling at me. "Hey there dad," I mumble as I straighten out my shirt. "You prepared?" A grin spreads across his face. "Hopefully, I'm a shit ton nervous," I drop onto my bed.

"Of course," he chuckles. "This is Indy we are talking about, she'll for sure say yes," dad says as his hand claps my back. "I know, she better," I say as I run my hand through my hair. "Good luck, and don't be nervous. It's all going to go good," dad says and I nod.

"Thanks, dad," I breathe out and stand up.

"Excited?" I ask and Indy nods with a very big grin on her face. She looks up at me with her sparkling blue eyes. Even in the dark, the blue is so clear. I grin down at her, leaning down slightly as I kiss the top of her forehead.

"Aus," she tugs on my arm. "Hmm?" I look down at her. "Can we get ice cream and go to the cliff after this?" She asks and with the pleading look in her eyes of course I could not say no, not that I would in the first place anyway.

"Of course. Anything for you," I mumble.

We had decided to walk all the way to Macy's rather than taking any of our cars. It wasn't that cold either, just breezy enough to enjoy the weather.

As we approach closer to Macy's I find myself getting more nervous. The box in my pocket starts to feel heavier and my hands feel clammier. "We're here!" Indy grins, breaking me out of her thoughts.

As she stares at the cafe in front of us her eyebrows pull into a frown. "I think Macy's is closed?" She looked at me. The front 'Open' led sign was turned off, and the lights inside were also turned off. A grin spread on my face.

I had called the owner of the store two days asking, asking her to do all of this and help me out with my plan. "Come on," I hold the handle and Indy gasps. "Are you crazy?! We aren't going to break in, let's go somewhere else," She whisper-yells.

"It's not closed, baby. It's open. Just for us." I tug on her hand, pulling her in with me as I push open the door. Once we enter, there is a very small light turned on behind the counter.

"Austin?" The owner's voice echoes. "Yep," she comes out from the office behind the counter. "Great, have a wonderful time both of you," she smiles kindly. She hands me a set of keys, "These is the store keys. Lock the store and put the keys under the large plant pot outside once y'all are done here."

I nod, pocketing the keys. "I'm so confused," Indy mumbles from beside me. The lady in front of me just chuckles. She pats my shoulder before greeting both of us goodnight. The bell rings behind her as she walks out of the cafe.

"Aus, why did the owner just hand you the keys? What's happening?" I take a hold of both of her hands, pulling her in front of me. "This place is all ours tonight," I lean down and kiss her forehead.

When she tilts her head in question I chuckle as I explain, "I wanted to have a special night, with just us and a meaningful place. And to be frank, I also didn't want to be around people so I spoke to the owner and convinced her to give us the whole fucking place for a night."

Her eyes widen. "You really did that?" I nod and pull her closer. "I wanted you all to myself tonight," I hug her into my chest. She giggles, "So greedy," she presses a kiss on my chest, right on top of my heart.

"Shut the fuck up," I mumble playfully. "Long distance has been hard as fuck," I sigh. "I've missed you so much and I missed having you all to myself," we both start swaying softly together even though there is no music.

"I know. I've missed you too baby, I've missed you a lot," she leans up and I lean down pecking her lips. "But soon we'll move in together and you'll have me all to yourself like the greedy man you are," she smiles up at me and I chuckle.

"I'm so excited to move in together. I won't have to wait months to see you and I can cuddle the shit out of you every night," I hug her super tight as if to give her a demonstration. She groans playfully as she slaps my chest.

I laugh as I kiss the top of her head. "You hungry?" She nods against my chest. I pull away from her as I walk behind the counter and bring up McDonald take away bags. She raises her eyebrows.

"McDonald's, so romantic and fancy," Indy sighs dreamily while her tone oozes sarcasm.

I roll my eyes, "I ordered takeout before leaving the house so that it would make it in time for us to eat when we reach here," I pass her her takeaway bag and she takes it with a huge smile. "You really know the way to my heart," she leans up and kisses my jaw.

We turn on soft lights in the cafe and take a seat at a table. As we eat our food in comforting silence both of us find ourselves glancing at one another, when our eyes meet we smile but say nothing.

After we are done eating we start talking about the most random stuff. After a while, we get up from the table and throw the takeout bags and I know it's time to put my plan into action.

"Wanna dance?" I ask her. "Dance?" She asks. "Mhm, right here in the middle of the cafe. What do you say?" I grin. "What did I do to deserve you?" She wraps her arms around me. I chuckle as I press a kiss to her forehead before unwrapping myself from around her. I walk to the counter and open my phone.

I press on the Spotify icon on my screen and play Perfect by One Direction- one of Indy's favourite songs- before also opening my camera app and starting a video to capture the whole moment. I feel my pocket, ensuring the box is still in there before going to Indy who is smiling at me.

I wrap my arms around my beautiful girl as I pull her into my chest. She wraps her arms around me and I start softly swaying us to the music as we both sing the lyrics to each other.

There are moments where she steps onto my foot and we both laugh it off or when one of us randomly blurts out I love you. Holding her this close to me and seeing the way she looks at me I know for sure that this girl has to say yes to becoming my future forever.

No one will ever love me as she does and I will never love anyone the way I love her. Indy taught me how to love and I want to forever learn and unwrap the warm feeling in my heart to her and just her.

Once the song ends I pull away from her. "Shorty," I whisper even though it's just us. She looks up at me softly. I take a hold of both of her hands tightly as I take in a deep breath. "I love you," I say she smiles and is about to say something but I shake my head.

"Let me speak hmm?" She nods. "I love you so much, baby. More than I ever thought I could love anyone. You are my best friend Indy and you mean more than the world to me. I'm in love with every single aspect of you. You've taught me the power of love. With you, I'm the best version of myself. The past few years have been so fucking hard and all I could do was think about how I want to make you my forever. I want to wake up next to you every morning. I want to cuddle the shit out of you after a long day. I want to have endless tickle fights. I want to see you walk down the aisle in a white dress. I want to cry with you on our bad days and I want to laugh with you on our best days. I want to have stupid meaningless fights on who does the dishes and I want to forever hear you complain about my snoring- which I by the way don't do-" she rolls her teary eyes at that with a soft laugh.

"I want to build a home with us, our dogs and kids. I want it all Inds. I want everything with you and just you," I let go of her hands and bring the box out of my pocket, I get down on one knee and by now tears are falling down her smiling face. Her eyes widen when I open the box and present the diamond ring to her.

"So, marry me? Marry me and let me love you forever. How does that sound? Marry me, please? I love you a shit ton baby and the thought of you becoming my wife is pretty damn cool. I promise to buy you coffee whenever you want. I promise to give you all the kisses in the world. I promise to watch all the Disney movies with you. I promise to annoy the shit out of you but only in that way you find cute. I promise to give you all my hoodies and shirts. But most of all I promise to be the best husband to you and the best father to our future children. So marry me?"

She's sobbing by this point and tears are running down my cheeks too. "Will you marry me?" I ask again. "Yes!" She nods crazily as she thrusts her left hand towards me. "A 100 times yes. I love you so fucking much and- and," her voice is cut off by her own happy sobs as I slip the ring on her finger.

Indy completely pounces on me the minute the ring is on her finger. I fall on my back at the sudden attack and she falls on top of me. She hugs the shit out of me and I wrap my arms around her just as tight.

"I can't wait to marry you," I whisper in her ear.

She nuzzles her face in the crook of my neck. "Same."

"I love you, Aus," she kisses the side of my neck. "I love you too."

And there I am. Lying on the floor of Macy's with the love of my love and soon-to-be wife on top of me as we both hold each other tight, both our hearts beating extremely fast but steady at the thought of our future that lies ahead.

God, I can't wait to see her in a white dress.

God, I've missed my babies Austin and Indy so much and writing to them again after so long was so so nice.
