A/N: Song "Wildfire," by Seafret.

Caleb

It'd been almost a month since Anna and I completely accepted each other, and I'd never been happier in my life. She was right. There is something magical about waking up next to the person you love most. However, we'd barely had any time for us alone. If we weren't having parties, we were taking all of the pack's children to the park or visiting pack members' houses, or patrolling the borders.

Most pack members were still reluctant to approach me unless she was present, but at the very least, they didn't seem as terrified of me as before. Anna's cheerful attitude made everyone feel at ease. The problem was... well... Anna was completely invested in making everyone love me, which I appreciated. But...

"I swear I know what I'm talking about. We should give away pizzas--one large pizza to each pack member. Then, everyone will adore you!" She beamed.

"Mmm... Can we talk about that after the picnic?" I offered a half ham sandwich.

Anna frowned but took the sandwich. Here we go again. "Thank you for the picnic and everything... But, what were you thinking when you decided to cancel lunch with the pack members!?"

"We've been having lunch with them every single day for the last three weeks. We need time together--"

"We're always together." Even feeling each other's feelings and intentions was not enough when some people are this stubborn. "Yes, you are the stubborn one." Never had someone bitten a sandwich so angrily as she did just now. I'm so lucky to have such a cute mate. "Hey, stop that." She pointed at me attempting to look angry but the corners of her lips were quirked upwards.

"It's such a beautiful day. The temperature is ideal. The wind brings the scent of flowers and our waterfall sings for us. Even, the green grass is covered with a pink blanket with white accents. And... I've got the most beautiful, thoughtful and kind girl sitting across me. This is paradise." I took a napkin and wiped off some mayonnaise from her upper lip.

Blushing, she looked away timidly. "Don't change the subject, Caleb. We need to work on--"

I picked up the small bottle of juice. "Orange juice?"

"What?" Her eyes widened as she stared at the straw in front of her lips but sucked from it.

"Hah... I love when you do that."

"When I do... Caleb! I'm being serious here!" Even though she was glaring, her wide smile betrayed her.

"And, I'm being serious here as well. By the way, the sex dungeon will be ready in four or five days."

"Se--sex dungeon?" She leaned back looking at me as if I had just said that I was a giant chicken, her jaw dropped.

"I heard you talking to Samuel. You said that you'd wished the room I keep your things was a sex dungeon."

"Well... That would've been way less creepy than an adoration shrine. You know obsessed and sick people do that, right?" She waggled her eyebrows.

"What should've done then? You left so many things behind and I couldn't get rid of them. I tried keeping them in my room but then, I wouldn't leave my room for days because I felt as if you were there..."--I averted my gaze from the sad look she was giving me--"and... they took too much space... Yeah, that."

"Oh, so my things were in your way? What pink didn't match your room decorations." She leaned in a kissed my cheek.

Now, that was just teasing. She knew what her touch does to me. My wolf wanted us to have pups already. It's way too soon for that.

"Pfft... I would redecorate my room pink if you wanted to--"

She smirked and lifted a finger. One more second and she would ask to have the room painted pink. I wouldn't be able to sleep in a completely pink room... at least not for now.

"But, please, don't make me do that right now. What if we finish our picnic?"

"Whatever." She sighed as if this whole situation stressed her so much. "Caleb, the pack still needs--"

"The pack will be fine. Let's focus on us... just today, please?"

"Okay." She giggled. "So, how has your day been, dear mate?"

I gave her a look. We'd been together the whole day. Okay, she was right. We'd been nearly joined by the hips all this time.

"This day has been great since I've been by my queen's side this whole time."

Gosh... He's so cheesy.

"I heard that."

She shrugged and chuckled without meeting my eyes. "Sorry. Have you noticed that the warriors now are way more motivated and work so hard? They seem to have so much energy!"

They do look happier now and are even stronger than before, but that was not the point right now.

"Anna..."

"Sorry. Mmm..." She shielded her thoughts.

"What are you thinking about, beautiful?"

Anna laughed. "Nothin'~"

"Tell me! Please?" It couldn't be that bad, but curiosity was killing me.

"I'm not telling, no matter how much the curiosity tortures you." She stuck out her tongue.

"So that's how we are now? You block me but keep reading my thoughts. That's unfair." I stood up and picked her up swinging her over my shoulder.

She shrieked. "What! What are you doing?"

"Let's go for a swim! The water is so clear, quiet and peaceful."

"Is it a river or a sheep?" Anna snorted a laugh.

"Very funny. Let's see if you are as funny when you're wet."

"You know I am!--" Yes, she was. "I'll tell you, but put me down."

"Really?"

"Really."

I put her down, but as soon as her feet landed on the grass, she shoved me into the water. I managed to get a hold of her arm and both fell into the cold river with a loud splash. The temperature was not as nice as I had thought. Ana spat some water on my face and gasped for air. I couldn't help but laugh at her pissed off face.

"Sorry, lovely soul-mate." I flinched when she glared at me. "My dearest?" I gave her an apologetic smile.

Her wet hair whipped my face as she turned around, fuming. I caught up with her an embraced her in a back hug. She relaxed in my arms.

"I was just thinking... You're weirdly sweet for an Alpha."

"WHAT? Is that a bad thing...?"

She always calls me cute, but is she annoyed because of that? Does she want me to be more forceful or something? It's not like my wolf and I don't ache to tear apart everyone that gets too close to her, but she would get mad if I was grumpy all the time, especially considering that she wants me to be all nice and smiley in front of the rest of the pack members.

Her bright dark eyes met mine as she turned around and wrapped her arms around my neck. My breath got caught in my throat. She's so beautiful. I could never get enough of the loving way she looks at me.

"It's a good thing. To be honest, it always worried me knowing that I would get a high-ranking mate.Feelings can't be controlled, but the reason why I didn't look forward meeting my mate before was that I was afraid. The idea of having someone wanting to think, decide and even talk for me terrified me. Even my brother sometimes would get all possessive over my best friend when other males talked to her and every time I would think, I never want something like that."

"I know." Anna would probably beat me with a fish if I made some jealousy scene in public.

"And I know that you know" She grinned. "The Moon Goddess makes no mistakes."

I leaned in and kissed that gorgeous smile of hers, and pulled her closer to me. This was paradise.
