A/N: Song "The Only Exception," by Paramore.

Anna

There is something magical about waking up next to the person you love most in the world. It pumps up your heart rate and fills you with energy to start the day. This wasn't the case today since I couldn't get any sleep last night. By the time Caleb and I had finished catching up, it was 6:30 AM, and there was no way I would go back to sleep. So, here we were having breakfast in the restaurant we both loved.

"I tell you, they are staring." I took a sip of my dark coffee keeping my eyes on the waitresses that kept stealing glimpses of us and giggling. Ok maybe they were not staring but I was getting uncomfortable anyway.

Caleb chuckled. "Okay, they are. But, that isn't surprising. We have each other's marks. They're just curious about their Luna." He reached across the table to caress his mark on my neck.

The warm sensation that erupted from his touch had me clenching my tights closed. Freaking mating instinct. I swatted his hand away.

Stop it! That's not fair!

He smirked. 'Okay, okay. Later.'

We finished our breakfasts and got on our way.

This morning's training would be very different to the usual torture. Being formally introduced to the pack was important, but the priority was to get everyone in shape and restore their trust in their Alpha. As they were right now, it would be a matter of time before they betray him.

"They wouldn't betray me, Anna."

I shifted my gaze from the car window to Caleb, who was giving me a meaningful look.

"First, don't go through my thoughts like you own my mind. Second, what's the point of lying to yourself and me? Don't forget that I can feel your fear."

He looked away but then laughed. "Feel my fear? What are you a villain? Can you taste it as well?"

Ugh. Annoying little--

"There's nothing little about me." He stuck out his tongue.

I blocked him. Otherwise, not even my endless love for him would save him.

"Aw. Love of my life. I feel lonely without your warm thoughts."

A graceful snort escaped me. "You're in an awfully good mood today..."

Caleb took my hand on his and kissed it. All these butterflies made me feel like a teenager again. I ran my hand through his soft hair and enjoying the smile that adorned my mate's face. All that gloom and angst that surrounded him the day I found him in the dungeons was gone.

"How could I not be happy when I'm finally with my soul-mate?" He blew me a kiss.

"Well, happy-you is annoying."

There wasn't a minute by his side in which I wasn't laughing, chuckling or smiling. He's like happiness materialized--my happiness and only mine.

We finally arrived at the training field. I didn't miss the look the warriors gave us as we walked toward the middle of the woods-surrounded field. They were already in neat lines waiting for orders. Excitement, shock, terror were some of the feelings that reflected on their faces. Surely, most wouldn't know what to make of having a Luna all of sudden. It could make things better or worse.

"Hello, all. I am Anna Amores-Lobo and I'm your Luna." I smiled.

Gasps and chatter erupted from the crowd. If they were surprised before, now they'd be astonished. They should've received the notice that a council member was coming to stay for a while in their pack, and now that same council member was wearing their Alpha's mark.

Samuel was there biting a laugh. If we were on good terms, he would've made one of his snarky comments. To be honest, I wasn't even mad anymore, but I hadn't had time to talk to him. Let him suffer some more.

Some known faces of former students also stood from the crowd. I could see the wheels turning in their minds. Most of them smiled. They know I'm chill.

Caleb wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me closer. "So, now that you know my beautiful mate. Let's begin."

"Can I like, go to sleep for a week now?" I stretched my arms and groaned as I got into the passenger's seat.

While my training method is less torturous for our pack members. It was way too demanding for us. Caleb, Samuel and I had fought each of the warriors to test their strength. Even if it had been just a few minutes each, they weren't weak. In fact, they were vicious. They used way too many low blows and sucker punches. Maybe getting them in shape wouldn't be much of a problem after all.

"After lunch, we have to go to the small training field to introduce you to the children." Caleb was as tired as me, but he was enjoying this. I couldn't say that I hated it. I love kids.

"Anna~" Samuel tapped my shoulder.

Oh right, he was here too. Caleb chuckled. I bet he was having fun listening to my sarcastic thoughts. I'm glad that I make a decent entertainment for my Alpha.

'Oh, your Alpha?'

Shut up, Caleb.

"Yes, Samuel." I turned to look at the annoying guy in the backseat.

"I want you to know that you're a far best fighter than Caleb. Be my Alpha." Samuel cupped his hands and pouted.

Now, he was just sucking up to me. Caleb and I were at the same level, and Samuel is more loyal than a lovesick puppy.

"Yes, Anna. Please, be our Alpha."  Caleb laughed.

I rolled my eyes. "Sam, I'm not mad anymore. You don't have to kiss my ass."

"Yay! Then, I can tell you all about how much Caleb missed you all these years."

All through Samuel's speech of all of Caleb's suffering, Caleb remained silent. The embarrassment was evident on his face though, and I had to stifle my laughter at the increasing blush on his cheeks.

"Oh, I found the diaries! Do you know what languishing means?" It was payback time.

"Yeah. It means slowly dyi--"

"Oh look here we are! Let's have lunch. On me!" Caleb pulled up in the parking lot.

"Just for you, honey." Samuel winked at Caleb.

As soon as we walked into the restaurant, all the chatter and laughter that had previously filled the room died out. Everyone lowered their heads and some people even leave through the opposite doors. I glanced at Caleb who was frowning but he was sad.

To be honest, if I was one of--no... Everything will get better. I took Caleb's hand in mine and gave him a reassuring smile. It'd be a long road, but we have each other--Samuel draped his arms over our shoulders--oh, and we have that too.

A/N: I'd like to thank everyone who has taken a look at my new story. Kisses.

Starting a new story is rough. I see all the reads I have here (almost 2M) and I'm like asdfshaha OMG, my readers are the best!

Then, I check the other story and see that it's almost reaching 1k readers and I'm like asdfshaha OMG my readers are the best!

Truth to be told, after writing such a spitfire as Anna is, I wanted to write a more introverted character, which is a huge challenge for me. I am extroverted af.

The other day a male acquaintance walked in front of me while I was sitting on a bench talking to my best friend and I was like:

Me: "Hi. How are you?" *waves*

Him: *approaches* "Good and you?"

Me: "Good!" *Beams* "Mmm... You look different today... More... Oh! That is it! You look even more handsome today!"

What? He did look more handsome and everyone should be told that they are *beautiful.*

Him: *stutters* "Thank you."

Me: *shrugs* "Just saying the truth."

The guy and my introverted and shy best friend blushed. LMAO.

While I was writing Genevieve's dialogues sometimes I would look at them and think: yeah, that's something *I* would say. There is no way that an introverted person acts like this. I had to interview many of my introverted friends and my boyfriend (he's the most introverted person I know after my BFF) to create the character.

*Whispers* The next chapter is ready. Hang in there.
