She doesn't go away. She can't be forgotten.

She is like a rose that hasn't blossomed, but that time doesn't wither.

She is a flower to whom love was promised. Love that didn't happen, but that is still alive.

Again, the colour of the end, the night's end is asking me where I ended up... 'Cause this is something you only live once.

Where did you end up?

Where are you?

January 17, Wild Moon Pack

I looked around the venue. Everything looked perfect. Just how I wanted it to be. I sighed in relief. It had taken a lot of effort with that ridiculously short notice, but we pulled through. The uneasiness kicked in again. The Alphas from every part of the country would be here in a moment.

My mother gave me a side hug and rubbed my arm. "I am so proud of you. When they asked us to host the meeting this year, I thought it would be impossible, but look at this. It will be a success. Go get some sleep. You haven't gotten any rest in two weeks."

I sighed and rubbed my temples. The splitting headache gave no signs of improving. I guess I can still get two or three hours of sleep before everyone arrives. It is unfair that they had just dumped this responsibility on us, but I also feel sorry for the ones with a worse luck than us.

My mother looked around and braced herself. "I still cannot believe the amount of damage those rogues caused in the Hidden Moon Pack. It is still unsure if they will recover. You know, they called for help from other packs again."

We were supposed to host next year's meeting. However, since the Hidden Moon Pack was in no position to receive any guests this year, two weeks ago it was decided that my pack would take charge. The council gave us some extra days and washed their hands. I am sure someone over there hates us.

"That is exactly why we are doing this. We are hosting the meeting and we already sent supplies and some warriors. Had it been my decision, no warriors would have been sent. Luckily, they are coming back today."

"Don't stress yourself over that. Leave it up to your father. It will be okay. I saw it." She cupped my right cheek and gave me a small smile.

I trust my mother's visions. She and I had overseen the preparations for the event while my father took charge of everything else. After mom and I had sat down and talked to him about what have been happening in the pack, he had become somewhat stricter. It is not enough, but it will suffice until I take over the pack.

"I try not to. I am a still frustrated over what happened with Chris and his mom, though."

"If they don't want to talk, we cannot force them. Hopefully, their time in the dark cave will make them reconsider."

I smiled at her. "We could always tortu-"

"We are not torturing anyone young man." Her tone was severe and gave me the chills.

I whined. "You are no fun."

I am sure that by the end of the month one of them will break. The dark cave is a special dungeon, I would never want to go in. Too dark and creepy over there.

My rubbed the palms of my hands against my pants and took small shallow breaths as I walked toward him. I had been so caught up with the preparations that I had not even considered that her brother would be here. I need to convince him to help me. As soon as we made eye contact he dismissed the other men talking to him. He walked up to me.

"Future Alpha. Congratulations," he said smiling and offering me his hand.

I shook his hand. "Thank you. Could I ask you something in private?"

"Of course."

We stepped outside of the building and away from the meeting.

"I know you must think very lowly after everything that happened, but I really care about my mate and I am going to do anything to prove it and get her back. Please tell me she is alive and well."

He tapped his chin and hummed for a moment. Then shrugged. "You know what? She is alive and well. But, she has gone through so much shit. She is just getting better. Right now, she is away training. You will have to be patient if you really care."

I knew it! She is alive! I could not help the grin that spread across my face. I bounced in place smiling like an idiot. I will be with my beautiful mate again. I couldn't care less about the waiting part. Just knowing that she is okay made me ecstatic.

"When can I see her?" I may sound a little too excited. I mean, it is just the love of my life and the woman of my dreams. Pfft... What else? No seriously. I need to be with her.

He looked away and exhaled. Then, turned back to me with a severe expression. "To be honest, I have no idea. I cannot talk for her, but I know for a fact that she wants no one but you.

"Wait... you did what?" I stopped my dumbbells midair and sat on the bench, shooting a death stare to Anthony.

"You already heard it. Now, don't be lazy and finish your set." His voice was so nonchalant, as if he was talking about the weather.

"I heard it and that is why I was assuming you were joking. Why would you do that? You know his pack is going through a rough patch!" I let the dumbbells fall at each side of the bench and laced my fingers together, supporting my elbows on my knees.

He put his hands up and gave me a sheepish smile, but I could see a hint of slyness in it. "Uh, so scary. Please spare me."

I rolled my eyes and let out a frustrated breath that sounded more like a grunt.

He frowned a little. "No, seriously."

I jumped a little on the bench at the humorlessness of his tone. Sometimes I forget who he is.

"I gave him an opportunity to prove himself to his pack, the other packs and the council. It was up to him to either take it or mess it up." He grinned. "And it seems like he took it. The council is impressed."

I clapped my hands together. "Can I call him to congratulate him, now?"

"Nope. No contact with the exterior. Did you even read the council rules?"

"Um... Yes. Kind of." I rubbed the back of my neck and averted my gaze.

He growled. "You should!"

"Yes sir!" I saluted him.

He chuckled and stuck out his tongue. What a weird guy.

A/N: I am stuck in Fort Lauderdale Airport now, probably until Wednesday. SMH.
