Anna

It was Friday night. After what happened that I desperately needed a drink, so Alexandra brought me to what she called "the hottest nightclub" in town. To be honest, this was more like a bar with a small area for dancing and a couple of sofas with some conspicuous stains. She pulled me to dance, but I am not big in country dance. Is there a salsa club in this town?  Probably not. I might need to learn how to dance country music.

After only 3 shots Alexandra excused herself because her mate was mindlinking her. It was only 11:10 pm.

"Do you want Mike to give you a ride or I could call you a cab?" asked Alexandra stepping off her barstool.

"Do not worry. The night is young." I took a shot and showed her the empty glass.

"Ok. Do not go overboard. But, have fun and get yourself a hunk." She winked and left.

I sighed. It must be nice having a loving mate. I rested my chin on my left arm and stared to my empty shot glass in my right hand. I banged my head on the counter lightly and called the bartender.

"Give me a bottle of Jack!" I yelled.

"Are you sure, miss? That might be too much for you alone," the young bartender said.

"Are you a bartender or my dad?" I huffed annoyed.

"Add four Cherry Blueberry Apple Sangrias" said a smooth voice behind me. After a moment, I saw the most exquisite piece of man sitting by my side on the barstool previously occupied by Alexandra. "On me" he added. My mouth watered.

This guy was fine... to say the least. I could see his muscles marked below his shirt, he had short facial hair and piercing emerald eyes. My mate-to-be was boyish handsome but this guy in front of me was the definition of manly and sexy. What wouldn't I do to him...? Larentia growled at my dirty thoughts. Weren't you depressed just a moment ago? she questioned. I was, but I appreciate nature's art when it is in front of me. He cleared his throat. Oh shoot!

"Cherry Blueberry Apple Sangrias?" I arched one eyebrow and gave him my are-you-serious-dude?  look.

"Both you and me know that bottle of Jack's might probably just give you tickles in your stomach. If we are getting drunk, we are doing it with style." He winked.

"So we are getting drunk, like together?" I pointed him and me with a smirk.

"Can't let the most beautiful woman in the club drinking all by herself, can't I?"

"Cheesy..." I rolled my eyes.

"So what does a gorgeous she-wolf do drinking all by herself here?" he asked cupping my right hand.

"I do not know, what does a mated wolf does in a club all by himself?" I arched one eyebrow and he stiffened.

"H-how did you...?" he stuttered.

I grinned."I didn't. You just admitted it yourself."

"Oh, look at you. Aren't you the fisher-woman?" he recovered and smirked.

"What can I say? I have been around for a while."

"You sound like an old lady." He chuckled.

"Maybe, I am."

"No, you are not. You are just beautiful."

"Still flirting after admitting that you have a mate. That's so wrong."

"I did have a mate... who left me for another wolf... four years ago... on this same date."

"Oh my... I am so sorry." I squeezed his hand and he gave me a sad smile.

"Don't be. I was an ass at the time. I deserved it. I rejected her first, just to realize too late how much I needed her." He sighed and tears rolled down his cheeks.

I reached to him with my free hand and wiped his tears. He grabbed my wrist and stared down my eyes with passion. I leaned to him my eyes flickering from his eyes to his perfect lips. He leaned as well and soon the noise of the club disappeared... We were so close.

"Here are your drinks!" said the bartender and we both jumped on our seats. The moment gone. He let go of my hand and I did the same. I glared at the bartender and he sneered.

"Maybe I am your daddy tonight" he winked and left to serve other customers. He is so not getting a tip from me.

"What was that with the bartender?" asked the hot man whose name I do not know and who I almost kissed beside me.

"Oh my friend there is just sore because I was a bit rude earlier. He will get over it. Anyway, I need a name, so talk." I said before taking a sip of my drink.

"You are such a sweetheart aren't yah?" he said sarcastically.

"Yeah I know" I rested my hand on my chest and batted my eyelashes.

"How does Alexander sounds to you?"

"Great!" I said beaming. "Just like my older brother! I will call you Xander."

"Xander?" he cocked his head to the side.

A/N: Do any of you care for background music?

"Yep, I need a non-creepy name to scream when you know?" I winked and his eyebrows raised in surprise.

"In that case, Xander sounds perfect to me. Your turn love." He looked at my eyes intently and took a sip of his own drink.

I straightened my back and talked in my business mode "Anna Sthepania Amores Lobo. Nice to meet you, Xander the charmer." I extended my hand to him which he took and shook.

"Xander the charmer? Are you serious?" he laughed.

"I think it suits you," I answered grinning.

"I will call you love then. Anyway, I already opened my heart to you. Your turn." He moved his hand signaling me to talk.

I sighed. "Just when I was feeling better you come to ask me about my sappy story... I think I found my mate but he does not know yet."

He cocked an eyebrow. "How is that possi... oh...  Your mate is underaged?" He burst in a loud laugh.

"Are you quite done there?" I asked, unamused,  after 45 seconds.

"Sorry... sorry... It is just so funny. How old are you anyway?" He was crying from laughing so much.

"I am 22. You?"

"27." He finally got a grip but the smirk never left his face.

"Old..."

"Cougar." He broke in laugh again. I rolled my eyes.

"Hey! I would never do that to an underage student!" I exclaimed shouting in a whisper.

He stopped laughing and looked at me, completed amused. "He is your student? Oh my! You are so screwed."

"That is not even the worst part..."

"There is more? Bartender! A bottle of vodka please!" He called the bartender.

"Nice... He is the bad boy slash player slash future alpha from my high school."

"So much drama. What are you?"

I smirked. "I have found him 'getting lucky' about six times in twelve days." I served myself another shot of Jack and vodka.

He grimaced. "I am sorry, beautiful. It must be horrible for you." He caressed my cheek and I closed my eyes.

"It is. I think he will reject me." I said sadly.

"Why do you say that? He might change once he realizes who you are and accept you."

"No, he won't." I could not hold my tears. "He said so himself. He will reject his mate if she is not 'perfect.' What does he even consider perfect? I moved all the way here from New York just to meet him. I do not even have any friends here. I left everything, Xander. I gave up my whole life to come see my mate mating with other girls and hear him saying how I am not good enough for him." I felt sick in my stomach and he pulled me in a hug. I sobbed in his chest for what seemed and eternity.

A/N: More background music? I like background music when I read... Tell me if it gets annoying. Consider that they are in a country club right now.

"I will be your mate," he said and I pulled away and looked at him wide eyed.

"What? Have you not heard what I said? I have a mate. Also, you are cool and stupidly hot but..."

"You think I am hot..." He hummed.

"Stupidly!" I retorted.

"Same difference. I meant if he rejects you, I will be your mate. If that is ok with you?" He shrugged.

"I just met you!" I said incredulously.

"My wolf likes you... Think about it. It is the first time he likes someone... besides her." He looked at me with googly eyes.

"And you just killed the mood." I flickered his forehead. He looked surprised and growled. "Don't you dare growl to me or I will fight you. First rule, do not mention your ex in front the girl you are trying to woo."

He chuckled. "Sorry for growling. I am not used to people talking to me like that. It is kind of refreshing."

"What are you? A Beta or something?" I sipped my drink.

"Nahh just something..." He said dismissively. "Anyway what do you miss the most from your old pack?"

"My brother, my best friend... my son of course... and the rest of my pack obviously." He spat his drink all over my face in surprise.

"What did you just said?" he asked cleaning his mouth with the back of his jacket.

"Very classy Xander. This is not how I imagined receiving a facial from you," I said with my eyes closed. Only then he realized what he had done and pulled out a handkerchief. He began wiping my face. "Gosh bless water-resistant makeup."

"Are you always this inappropriate?" he asked. I snickered.

"I am holding back because I just met you, actually." I smiled.

"Will you repeat what you were saying before?"

"That I miss my pack? Of course I do."

"Not that... What you said just before that."

I pulled my phone and showed him my screen background of me hugging and kissing Aiden's cheek. Since he shifted he is at least one foot taller than I am. "Isn't he cute?" Xander looked at me flabbergasted.

"How old is he?" He asked with knitted eyebrows.

"He is 17 now. They grow up so fast." I wiped an imaginary tear.

"But you are 22 meaning that... you were..."

"Hey! I am the Math teacher here! I was five when he was born. He is the son of the late Beta of my brother's pack. He lost his parents when he was six and I took him under my wing.  When he became seven he insisted that he had to be strong to protect me, so I began training him. I became the head warrior of the pack when I was seventeen. He is quite strong now and very handsome. He will come stay here next January you should totally meet him. He is so swee..." I noticed that Xander was staring at me amused.

"What?" I asked annoyed.

"He really is your son." He chuckled. "You just talked like a proud mother there."

"Of course he is my son." I stuck my tongue out.

"Very mature..." he said.

"What can I say..." I went to serve me another drink but the bottles were empty.

"You drank all my precious alcohol!" I yelled at Xander dramatically.

"You drank most of it!" he exclaimed.

"Shut up." I glared.

"You know... Nobody has ever disrespected me like this before." Xander rubbed his chin like remembering something.

"You mad?" I smirked.

"If it's you. I guess it is fine. You are quite entertaining. We should get going it is 2:15 am already."

"We?" I asked confused.

"Sure. We are going to get fast food. That is how it works."

"Oh yeah. What are you in the mood for?" I asked jumping off the barstool.

"There is a 24/7 hamburger place around the corner. Their food is delicious." He took my hand to level me while I stumbled.

"Oh, I did not know I was so drunk." He slid his hand across my back since I was about to fall.

"Now you believe me when I said that you drank most our drinks?"

"Never!" I yelled childishly. "I really hope you are not a psycho-rapist." I shrugged.

"Do not worry, love. Where do you live?" he cooed.

I told him the address of the apartment and we got burgers and fries. We barely talked in the restaurant as we were both busy devouring our food. Some other wolf I did not know came to pick us up and took me to my apartment. As we arrived I checked my purse and I realized I had forgotten my keys. Just my luck. I only found the keys to the pack house that Marcy gave me last week. I groaned.

"We are here love. What happened?" asked the sexy man beside me.

"Can you take me to my pack house instead? I forgot my keys to my apartment."

"You can always go with me to my place." He winked.

"Hold your horses lover boy. No way I am going to your house after just meeting you today. The only thing you are getting from me tonight is my phone number." I threw him my business card dramatically. "I am much more classy than that." Not really, said Larentia. Oh you shut up, I answered.

"Ok, classy lady. I am taking you to your pack house."

"Won't you get in trouble? This is not your territory, right?"

"Oh don't you worry princess. They know I am here."

"O-Ok."

We droved off and soon we were at the pack house. I waved them goodbye and stumbled my way in the house. Somehow I unlocked the door and as I walked, I knocked down a vase. "Shit," I said loudly. I noticed that the light of the living room was on, and heard some voices. "Shit, indeed," I whispered. I did my best to straighten up and did my fake sober walk that I had mastered over my years of partying.

I walked past the living room and of course Caleb, Samuel and their friends were there. Thankfully, they were all focused on playing COD.

"Hey, Anna! Did you knock the vase over there" said Caleb without looking at me.

I ignored him. Opening my mouth would only reveal the smell of alcohol... Oh wait, idiot Xander spat alcohol on me. Cool. I quickly walked past them and like the dumbass I am I walked right into the door frame and crashed my fatass self on the floor. "This is just great!" I yelled.

I did not want to do it but curiosity got the best of me. I turned my gaze to the living room, to find that my students had paused the game and were now looking at me grinning. Caleb quickly stood up and walked in my direction. He stopped in front of me and offered me his hand. I took his hand and he pulled me up putting his free hand on the low of my back. Oh, he smells so good. The things I would do to him, said Larentia excited or horny. I do not know anymore. Interlacing his fingers with mine, Caleb gazed into my eyes and leaned to me almost closing the distance between us. We were so close that I could not think anymore. I just wanted him to be mine, I needed him to be mine.

A/N: Finally I can post this chapter! The next one is going to be so funny.
