Perri's POV

For the next few days I ended up leaving my bed a total of five times, all for bathroom breaks. Aiden stayed with me the entire time I was in heat, and he certainly made my opinion of him skyrocket to where I trusted him, so much so that I couldn't sleep without him being beside me.

Just the touch of Aiden's skin against mine cooled me down, and it took immense strength not to give in to my wolf's urges, for lack of a better word. We didn't even kiss, which was a huge achievement on my part. We just lay side by side, occasionally getting up for bathroom breaks. Dad mind linked me and told me he had notified my friends not to come near my bedroom. He said Dan was particularly angry about something too. Mom visited a few times and brought trays of food with her, all cold. I couldn't eat anything that was even lukewarm; my natural warmth was magnified by tenfold. Aiden and I barely even spoke, and when we did it was in quiet murmurs about nothing that made any sense to anyone but us.

But now, I'd woken up on a Thursday morning, feeling completely normal. My temperature had gone down, and all I felt was safe and secure in Aiden's arms as he snored gently beside me. I looked up at his face, and he looked so peaceful when he was sleeping. I couldn't resist lifting my hand and tracing his jawline.

He twitched in his sleep, but didn't make any other move, so I gently brought my hand over his cheeks and then down to his lips. His skin was so soft; I envied him for that. I slowly brought my hand down as I realized how creepy I might seem to an onlooker, not that there were any. We were still in my bedroom, but now that I wasn't in heat anymore, I was sick of my walls, my bed, my room in general. I just wanted to take a nice warm shower and go downstairs to my family and the rest of the pack.

Aiden was sleeping soundly, so I wiggled my body until I was out of his hold and placed a spare pillow in his arms. He hugged it tightly and buried his face in the material, and I mentally aww'd at him.

I climbed off the bed and walked into the bathroom. Once inside, I shut the door and surveyed myself in the mirror. I looked awful. My hair was a great example of a rat's nest, and my face looked oily. My clothes were stuck to my skin and I felt dirty and disgusting. I was in bad need of a shower.

I had a bundle of towels in a cabinet under the sink, so I just went back to my bedroom and grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie along with some underwear. In the bathroom I shut and locked the door before turning on the shower. While I waited for the water to heat up a bit, I brushed my teeth quickly.

I shrugged off my grungy clothes and stepped under the warm spray. I slowly washed my hair, relishing the feeling of cleanliness the shampoo and conditioner brought me. I then soaped myself down until I was completely clean. Even though it was unnecessary, I stood under the shower for an extra ten minutes because I had the tendency to lose track of time when I was in the shower and drifted off in a daydream.

After a while I turned the water off and stepped out, wrapping a fluffy white towel around myself. I wrapped another, smaller towel around my hair and dried myself quickly before pulling on my clothes. I smiled at my reflection in the mirror because I was genuinely happy right now.

I left the bathroom and looked over at my mate. He looked so out of place in my bright bedroom; I almost wanted to laugh. He was still sleeping, though, so I just slipped on a pair of converse and glanced at Aiden one more time before leaving the bedroom. He could come and find me when he woke up, since Dad had told everyone to lay off him while he stayed at the pack house.

A few pack members greeted me as I passed, but I didn't really know any of them. They only knew me because I was the Alpha's daughter. When I got to the kitchen it was surprisingly empty, save for a few people I didn't know.

I looked at the clock that was mounted on the wall and saw that it was ten am. I quickly made a sandwich with ham and cheese and sat at the huge table. There were three teenage guys sitting there as well, and one of them seemed to notice my presence because he shot me a smile.

"Guys! Hey look, it's the Alpha's daughter!"

The other two guys stopped their conversation and turned to look at me in surprise. I didn't know what to do so I just sat there and gave them an awkward smile. "Hi."

"I'm Trent, and that's Logan and Alec", the first guy introduced.

The other two guys smiled and waved, and I nodded my head. "I'm Perri."

Logan smiled. "So did you hear about that rogue guy who's staying at the pack house? We're not supposed to touch him, Alpha's orders."

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. "Um, yeah."

"I heard he beat up Beta Dan", Alec pitched in.

My mouth dropped open. "What?"

Trent nodded. "It's true. Max told us; his room is right next to Dan's. He said he heard thumps in the middle of the night, so he went to look and saw that rogue leaving the beta's room. He took a look inside and Dan was lying on the floor groaning. I would love to have seen it."

I blinked. "Really?"

Trent grinned. "Yeah, it would've been awesome. I mean -"

I shook my head. "No, not that. I meant, did that really happen? Are you sure this Max guy isn't just lying?"

Logan frowned. "Nah, Max is cool. He's a good guy, you can ask him yourself if you want. He's probably outside training with the younger ones."

"It's fine", I said, making a mental note to ask either Aiden or Dan later. "Is Dan okay?"

Alec nodded. "It was only a punch or two, the marks would've gone away after a few hours."

I breathed a sigh of relief. "Good. Do you guys know where Dad or Mom is?"

The three of them shook their heads. "Sorry."

"Okay", I said, smiling a little. "Well, it's been nice talking to y'all, but I gotta go."

They all smiled, muttering bye's and see you's. I stood up from the table, my chair squeaking a little as it moved across the linoleum. I waved at the guys one last time before exiting the kitchen. The hallway outside was empty, but I guessed Dad would be in his office like usual.

I started up the steps, passing the first floor and the second, but I stopped at the third. This was where Dad's office was, along with his and Mom's bedroom and her fashion studio, where she hung all sorts of clothes.

I walked to the end of the corridor and knocked softly on the door with a gold plaque that said ALPHA LIATREE on it. That plaque had been there since my great-grandfather had it made when he became Alpha, and since both my grandpa and my dad both had the same last name, it made sense to keep it there.

A voice from inside invited me in, so I cautiously opened the door to reveal Dad sitting at his desk, which was strewn with papers. He had been looking at the computer that sat in front of him before I entered, but now he looked up and smiled when he saw me.

"Perri! I see you're back to normal."

"Yup", I agreed. "Sorry for not telling you I was coming back, though."

"It's fine." He waved a hand in the air. "Where's your mate? Aiden, wasn't it?"

"Yeah", I nodded. "He was sleeping, the last I checked."

"Good, good." He said. "Was there anything in particular you needed?"

I shook my head. "Nah, just wanted to see my old man."

Dad tried to look stern, but ended up cracking a smile. "Hey, I'm not that old."

I smirked. "Keep telling yourself that Dad."

With that, I opened the door and stepped out, smiling one last time before I closed the door behind me and set off down the corridor to see my mom. I knocked on her studio door and within seconds she opened it, a bright smile on her face. When she saw me standing outside she let out a strangely high-pitched squeal and pulled me into a bone-crushing hug.

"Perri!"

"Hey, Mom", I said with a small smile.

"You're okay now?"

I nodded in relief. "Yep."

"You don't have to go back to that rogue, you know. We can send him away, you won't have to see him ever again."

Before I could stop myself, a low growl escaped my lips. Mom gasped, and I looked up at her apologetically. "Sorry. I- I just, I think I'll be fine, Aiden's my mate, he wouldn't hurt me or anything."

"I think I understand", she said uncertainly. "Now, what the hell are you wearing?"

I looked down at myself. I was wearing a simple hoodie and a pair of sweatpants. I groaned. "Mom, you know it's easier to wear this type of clothes when you're a werewolf. No one else is a fashion freak!"

She frowned at me. "Annie always wears beautiful clothes, even though sometimes they show a lot of skin. You should take a leaf out of her book."

I rolled my eyes. "Just make Annie wear all of your products then, and we'll all be happy."

Mom contemplated my words for a moment. "I don't like your attitude young lady, but you have a good idea. But that doesn't mean you can go around looking like a complete slob all the time."

I grinned. "Okay, thanks Mom. I've got to go and see if Aiden's awake yet, I'll see you later."

Before she could protest, I dashed away down two flights of stairs until I was on the first floor. I walked down a hallway, past the boys' rooms and over to the girls' wing of the pack house. My room was at the very end of the hallway so I passed Annie's open door on my way down. She was inside, caking her face with makeup in front of a mirror. I didn't want her to see me so I hurried past until I came to my own room.

I paused outside the door, but then I took a deep breath and pushed it open. Aiden was inside, pacing up and down with his hands fisting at his hair. "Aiden?" I questioned. "Are you okay?"

His head snapped towards me, and he quickly crossed the room before wrapping his arms around me and crushing me to his chest. "Thank god you're okay", he murmured into my hair.

I laughed and pulled away slightly. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Uh, I just woke up and I didn't know where you went, anything could have happened to you." He explained.

I smiled a little. "I was just downstairs, you could've come to find me if you wanted."

"I know, but I didn't think I'd get a great reception", he muttered.

I laughed. "Yeah, I guess. But Dad told them all to stay away from you, so you'd be fine. By the way, I'm not in heat anymore!"

He grinned hopefully. "Does that mean we can go home?"

"Uh", I said awkwardly. "Well, I was thinking, I could stay here, and you could go back to your apartment, but we'd still see each other, of course, and we could date and stuff, but I'm not sure I'm ready to move in with you yet."

He growled. "No."

"Please, Aiden", I pleaded. "It'll only be for a while, until I feel ready."

"No." He said, firmly this time. "You're moving in with me, for good this time."

"No I'm not!" I said, taking on a defiant role. "I'm staying right here."

He shrugged. "Well, okay. But as long as you stay here I'm staying with you."

"You're only allowed on pack territory because you're my mate, so I can have you removed if I just asked my dad", I said childishly.

He laughed. "You really think that'll stop me? Princess, just pack up your stuff and we can get going."

I hated how he was treating me as if I had no choice in the matter, as if what I had to say didn't matter at all. "Aiden, stop. I'm staying here, and that's that."

He shook his head. "What about Rian and Lisa? I thought they were your 'best friends'."

I nodded, "Yeah, but I have friends here too, you know. Like Dan. By the way, did you really beat him up?"

At the mention of Dan's name a small growl escaped Aiden's lips, but when he heard my last sentence, a smug smile appeared on his face. "News gets around that fast, huh?"

"Aiden!" I scolded. "You can't just go around beating up the beta of a large pack any old day, at least not without good reason."

"I did have a good reason!" He protested.

I crossed my arms over my chest, waiting. He took a deep breath, and then smiled charmingly. "He started saying all this shit about how he wasn't going to let me near you, so I went BOOM! and he was down."

I raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Do you realize how much of a child you sound right now?"

Aiden was starting to annoy me now, with all of his bright smiles. Another grin made itself known on his infuriatingly good looking face as he opened his mouth to reply again. "You know, you're gonna be a great mom whenever we decide to have pups."

I held up a hand. "Hey, you can't just randomly say stuff like that, as if everything's okay!"

For a moment he looked genuinely confused at my statement. "But everything is okay."

"No it's not." I tried to make it clear that we were having an argument, and I wasn't about to let up on my side anyway. I was too stubborn for that.

A somewhat strange expression crossed his face but left as soon as it came, and Aiden took a step forward, causing me to step back. He grinned and took another step, and we repeated ourselves until I felt my back hit the wall. I was officially trapped.

Aiden's grin turned slightly predatory as he took the last step forward so that he was right in front of me and there was barely any space between us. He brought his mouth close to my ear, and in a slightly breathless voice he whispered, "Do you want me to make it okay?"

My breath hitched in my throat as he lightly ran his nose down my neck, causing tingles to erupt at his touch. He left a trail of kisses in the area around my mark, then he blew on my skin softly, which made me shiver. "Do you?" He mumbled against my skin.

I gave an almost imperceptible nod because I couldn't find the strength to do anything else except place my hands on Aiden's chest to keep myself up. With that, he immediately moved his lips and pressed them against my mark. I shuddered against him and went completely weak at the knees at the jolt of intense pleasure that shot through my entire body. I moaned as he moved back up my neck again, but he came back to my mark and pressed his lips against it once more.

"Aiden..." I moaned.

He pulled away a little, which almost made me whimper, but I tried to hold it in. He smiled at me. "God, you sound so sexy when you say my name like that."

Ugh, I couldn't take it anymore. I rose up on my tiptoes and pressed my lips to his. Sparks ignited immediately, and within a second he was kissing me back. He licked my lip to ask for entrance, which I denied, so he quickly reached down and squeezed my sides, which made me gasp and gave him the opportunity to shove his tongue in my mouth.

I tried to fight for dominance but my attempts were futile since Aiden easily won. Instead I wrapped my arms around his neck and brought him impossibly closer to me. He groaned into my mouth and brought his hands down to just below my ass, where he squeezed as an indication for me do jump, so I did so.

Now, I'd never made out with anyone before, so I was just doing whatever felt right, but I seemed to be doing okay, I thought as I moaned lowly. I reached up and ran my hands through Aiden's hair, making another sexy groan escape his lips.

All too soon, I realized what we were actually doing, and I pulled away, breathing heavily. Aiden didn't seem to be out of breath at all, and he just flashed me a huge smile. "Wow."

I laughed breathlessly. "Yeah...wow."

The smile didn't leave his face. "So does this change your mind?"

I frowned. What was he talking about? "Change my mind about what?"

"About moving in with me." He said in his 'duh' voice.

I shook my head. "Nope, nope, oh, and nope."

He groaned in frustration. "Please, babe. You can come back here if you don't like it, by you have to stay with me for at least a week."

I contemplated his offer. Only a week... and then I could come back home if it didn't feel right. It sounded fair enough to me, so I found myself nodding in agreement. "Deal."

Aiden grinned and enveloped me in a tight hug. "Thank you", he murmured.

"You don't have to thank me." I laughed, pulling away. "Now, help me pack enough things to last me a week."

It wasn't long before I had a small suitcase filled with whatever I felt like bringing with me. I used my still-existing mind link with my dad to tell him that I was leaving again and to tell Mom I said bye. I didn't want to talk to her in person, because I knew she would dig her claws into me in an attempt to make me stay.

"C'mon", Aiden whined, for like the millionth time. "Let's go."

"Wait", I hissed, trying to fix my hair a bit. We were taking a car back to Aiden's apartment instead of running in wolf form because it had been a long day and I didn't want to tire myself out by running too much.

I finished gathering up any last minute items that I felt like I couldn't live without and shoved my phone down the middle of my boobs.

"Right." I said, looking around in fake sadness. "I'm ready to go."

Aiden laughed. "Stop being so dramatic, there's a tiny chance you'll be coming back in a week."

I looked at him sharply. "What makes you think there's only a small chance?"

He rolled his eyes and motioned towards his body. "Who could resist this?"

I shrugged, "Anyone with a bit of common sense, I suppose, so you're lucky I don't have any."

He gaped at me. "Are you calling yourself stupid?"

"What? No", I said, biting my lip in an attempt to hide the laugh that was threatening to burst through. "Why, are you calling me stupid?"

"No", he said, shaking his head back and forth rapidly.

I smiled. "Good."

Aiden took my hand and we quickly and quietly made our way through the house, hoping not to bump into either my mom or Dan.

Thankfully we only saw a few pack members that neither of us knew, so we didn't stop to talk. Once outside, we walked to the bottom of the driveway and spotted a car waiting. Dad had told one of the guards to take us back to Aiden's place, even though he could drive. We got into the car and he gave us a tight-lipped smile through the mirror before starting up the car. Aiden wrapped an arm around my shoulders and I leaned into him without protest.

Now all I had to do was survive a week with him and his crazy friends.
