She lifted her head slightly and stole a glance at Alexander, who was furiously typing down on his laptop from the various files and papers that were spread across his desk. It was already six in the evening, and Rose felt exhausted after the whole days work. Alexander had already drowned himself deep into his work, and hence, she took that oppurtunity and lifted her head fully to admire him for a few seconds, hoping that he wouldn't catch her red handed.
Her eyes fell on his wild yet slightly dishevelled soft hair that had occurred due to him, constantly running his fingers through his hair all throughout the time from when they had started working. Her eyes trailed down to the creases on his forehead, his scrunched eyebrows, his narrowed green eyes that were glaring at the laptop screen with intense concentration, his neatly trimmed stubble and then his soft lips that had landed on hers just the previous day. Rose gulped down hard and tried to cool down her nerves as her eyes glued onto his lips. She slowly trailed her eyes downwards to his shirt. The first two buttons of his shirt were undone and it gave her a view of his perfectly tanned skin. His shirt clung to him perfectly emphasising his perfectly built body. He had rolled his sleeves upto his elbows and his hand laid on the desk as his long fingers typed down on the laptop. She gulped and looked down at her files, not able to resist the fine piece of male specimen who sat in front of her.
He might be a rude and arrogant person outside. But, for Rose, he was the same old Alexander back when they were kids. He loved her, completely and deeply. He himself could not fathom the extent to which he had fallen. But he knew, he had fallen hard. Extremal hard. Alexander wanted Rose to be with him and that is why, he had asked her to stay back with him to complete the work. He wanted to spend time with her.
After that kiss, Rose had unlocked the door in a lightening speed, got into her house and shut the door leaving him standing outside all alone. He stood there for some more time and left with a small smile on his face. He looked unaffected by the kiss, but deep inside, his heart beat increased when he had seen Rose that morning and now, when she was right in front of him, looking pink and nervous. Hence he did the only thing he could do to try to divert his head; he drowned into his work.

Rose sighed and started arranging the files in order on the desk and later started looking into the papers that he had given her to verify.

"Who is heading the engineering department.?" His manly voice echoed through the silent room and Rose abruptly lifted her head to look at him.

She blinked and dint say a word for a few seconds while his concentration was fully on the laptop screen.

He lifted his eyed from the screen and looked at her with those emerald greens that never failed to make her knees weak.

"Rose?"

"Yeah?" She asked him, looking all lost and confused as to why he had asked her about the engineering head.

He smiled, and sank back into his chair looking at her.

"Who is heading the engineering department, Rose?"

She did not want to utter his name now, and never in front of this man.

"Mr...Mr Brian Stephen. . . He heads the engineering department."

The small smile that he had on his lips vanished and his facial expression hardened. He looked arrogant and wild. But he never pulled his eyes away from hers all this while. He straightened himself and rested his arms on the table as he folded them across his chest and leaned onto the table while sitting on the chair.

"Alright." He said and looked back at the laptop screen.

Rose knew that the dangerous wheels in his head were spinning violently.

"Is he the man that you were planning to go out on a date with.?" He asked, looking back at her.

She looked straight into his eyes. They held so many emotions at that moment, but the most dominant was anger and frustration. He lifted his eyebrow indicating her to speak up.

"Yes." She said looking at his deep green furious eyes.

He gritted his teeth and she could hear the sound in that silent room. She did not find any need to explain to him that she did not go out that day and hence she just sat there looking at him, without explaining anything further.

"Well, how did the date go.?" He asked, growing irritated by the passing seconds.

"That's none of your business."
She said looking at his eyes with irritation. She did not like the way he was behaving with her right now. She would not back away . She would stand for herself and she was ready to do it even if it hurted him.

Alexander was slightly taken aback by her sudden courage and response. But his anger started increasing with a great amount of jealousy. And this, was extremely dangerous.

He took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly, trying to control the wild emotion inside him.

"Wrong answer, love. Let's try aga----"

"I am not giving you any answers, Alexander. I am not liable to." She said, feeling her own anger grow within her. She did not like to be questioned this way, especially by him.

He smirked at her response and removed his left hand, gripping the glass on the table that was filled with water.

"I warned you, dint I? I warned you before I left, not to go out with him anywhere."

"You don't get to order me around. I will do as I please."

"Don't make this hard for----."

"How many woman have you slept with?" She seethed out in anger as she dropped the files that was on her lap, onto the desk.

Alexander scrunched his eyebrows and looked at her with confusion.

"We aren't talking about me here."

"Wrong answer, Alexander. Let's try again." She said and rested her arms on the table. She was now playing his game.

"How many woman have you slept with, since all these years.?"

"Don't question me, Rose." He said as he tried his level best not to burst out with anger. He strongly disliked to be questioned by people , but she was always an exception to all his rules.

"Many, right? Maybe that's why your unable to answer this question." She said looking at him, feeling jealous about the woman that got his attention but quickly pushed them away.

Alexander did not utter a single word but kept looking at her with anger erupting inside him. He did sleep with woman. He was no Saint. He slept to forget, but when he realised that none of those woman that warmed his bed could remove this woman who at present sat in front of him, all fuming and beautiful, he had stopped sleeping around.

"You." She said pointing her index finger towards him. "Get to sleep around with woman. But I." She jabbed her finger into her chest with anger and said,"don't get to date, or like or even love a man.?" She asked him and gave a sarcastic smile, filled with anger and frustration.

The sudden rise of anger had washed away all her fear and she felt strong now. Strong to face him and lash out on him.

"You can't love him, Rose." He said looking at her with a murderous expression and his grip on the glass of water grew tighter and stronger.

"And who the fuck are you to tell me that.?" She yelled, as she stood up resting her palms on the files and papers.

"Don't curse at me."

"Stop telling me what to do and what not to do. I will fucking do as I please and talk however I want. Just stop ordering me around Alexander. You don't own me." She yelled back with uncontrollable anger. It took a lot to anger Roseanne Hart. But when she was angry, it would be a wise decision to not test her limits further.

"Low down your voice." He said, holding back onto the thin line of control that he was struggling to maintain before his anger could break it. He did not want to raise his voice on her.

She shook her head and smiled.
"You don't get it ,do you?."

She took in a deep breath and shut her eyes for a second. She opened them and met the storm that were erupting in those green eyes.

"He was there for me. Brian Stephen. He supported me when I wanted someone the most. When I came to this town, he was the only one that came to me, offering help and support. If I am here in front of you, it's all because of him. He helped me get this job. He got me out of my depressed self and become normal once again. He was there for me when you----"

Before she completed her sentence she heard the glass in his left hand break into pieces due to the pressure by which he was holding it. The water fell all over the papers and blood dripped down onto the paper above which he had held his hand. He clenched his hands and glared at her.

"Not a single word about him." He said with mad rage and fury.

His anger was surprisingly not directed towards her. It was all towards Brian Stephen whom she praised so much about. Anger mixed with huge amounts of jealousy coursed through his veins. And that, was a complete disastrous combination for Alexander.

Rose wanted to go to him and wipe away the pain, anger and blood, her heart pleaded her to, but then she stopped herself. Her anger and mind took control of her actions. She looked at his clenched fist and then at him.

"Why? Because he was the one who was there with me all this while?" She asked, testing him further and pushing him beyond limits.

"Don't."

"He was not the one who left me alone all those years back. He was not the one who sported a blind eye towards my affection and pain. He surely was not the one who pushed me away. He is everything that you aren't, Alexander Hunter. So don't be surprised if I fall in love with him." She said looking straight into his eyes.

And that was all it took for the beast inside him to break free from its control.

He abruptly stood up from his chair that made it fall sideways and banged his hands on the table. His left hand pressed onto the broken glass pieces that cut through his palms even deeper. Blood flowed freely onto the papers but he dint remove his hands from them. The mad amount of anger nullified the pain that coursed through his veins.

"You can't love him." He said, in a low yet dangerous voice as he shot her a dangerous glare.

"And I can't love you." She shot back, unfazed by his anger.

She might not have meant anything she said to him. She wouldn't be able to love Brian. But at that moment of rage, she just wanted to break Alexander the way he had broken her. She wanted to hurt him. And she did a pretty good job at that. She did break him.

He took a deep breath and let it out slowly trying to keep his emotions at bay.

"Don't test my limits Rose." He said, trying his level best not to burst out.

"And you don't----."

"Enough." His voice boomed through the silent room. He stormed towards her and gripped her arms tightly plastering her body onto his. Blood seeped through the fabric of her work attire but she did not notice it.

Two souls stood in that room, with only anger and jealousy coursing through their veins. Rose looked into his eyes and he looked into hers. He brought out the best and worst in her and so did she bring out in him.

"I can't take it when you talk about a man that way. I am jealous and I can't help it." He yelled at her, pressing her body further into his.

"I know I did a mistake. I know it, and I am begging for forgiveness. Please, give me a chance. Forgive me." He said, his voice level decreasing into a pleading tone.

She did not try to move out of his grip and just stood there. He dipped his head and landed his lips onto hers.

As soon as his lips landed on hers she pushed him back and slapped him across his cheek, rough and hard.

"Don't you dare touch me again, you asshole." She yelled at him, feeling her anger erupt again.

"You invaded my space yesterday and kissed me without my permission. And just because I stood there without reacting does not mean that I crave for it. And it surely does not mean that I will stand and take whatever you inflict upon me." She spoke looking at him.

Alexander had his head bent the direction she hit her and stared at the ground as he gritted his teeth harder. He clenched his fists and lifted his head.

"Don't force me to love you, Alexander." She whispered looking at him.

Pain coursed through his veins and shattered his heart into pieces. He came near her and gripped onto her shoulders tightly and lifted his right hand to cup her cheek. Blood stained her dress but both of them seemed unaffected by it.

"Give me another chance. Give me that love you had for me for one last time Rose. I will make everything right between us. I will---"

"There was no us Alexander. Never was and never will." She said feeling her own heart beat rapidly with agony.

She looked into his eyes and whispered.
"I hate you."

His eyes glistened with tears that threatened to break free. But yet , he dint blink even once, thinking she would disappear if he did so.

"Kill me before you utter those words again." He said, bringing back his hard emotionless face, and removed his hands from her shoulder and cheek. He turned away from her and shoved his hands into his pockets.

She wanted to go to him, comfort him and tell him everything would be fine. But she dint want to. She dint want to go to him now. A tears escaped her eyes and she quickly wiped it off.

She made her way to the couch at the side and picked up her bag and jacket. She then walked towards the door and kept her palm on the door handle to open it.

"I have said it then, and I will say it now. It might take time, but you will always be mine. Only mine. And I will destroy him if he touches you or even looks at you the wrong way." He said without turning back.

"Over my dead body." She said and opened the door ,making her way out leaving him all alone in the silent room.

He gritted his teeth, picked up the vase that was kept at the corner of the table and threw it on the wall shattering it into pieces. He banged the table and let out a wild groan filled with pain and anger.

"I need him dead." Brian said as he handed a photograph to the tall built man who stood in front of him with a dark expression and a hood on that covered his face.

The man took the photo and smirked at it .

"Alexander hunter."

"So you know him.?" Brian asked.

"Has always been my fucking target." He said looking at the photograph

"He's an extremely skilled criminal among all the underworld criminals out there. Dangerous. No one dares to fight him." He said and looked at Brain as he tucked his photograph inside his pocket.

"But even a king has his enemies." He said with a smirk and continued. "Your work will be done."

Brian froze for a second at the new found information, but regained his senses back and handed over a black bag to the killer.

"Your advance."

He took the bag from him and walked down the dark alley without uttering a single word.

Brian watched the killer disappear into the darkness and a dangerous smile crept on his lips. He lifted his head and looked at the dark sky as he shoved his hands into his pockets.

"You will be gone soon."
