Two minutes! Two minutes!

That's all it took for me to lose my mind. I never cared so much how heavy the clock can be when your misery is near. How strong two minutes can be when the selfish seconds are fighting to get closer and closer to its destiny.

Dear clock, please slow down. I need a few more minutes to contemplate the beauty of my queen, Hazel Brown, ahead of me. I need a few more hours to apologize for every mistake and every lesson that life taught me my whole life with Jack Walter. I need a few more years to beg the Holy God for forgiveness for my darkest sins.

"Hazel? Please enchain me." As I sat on the floor, near the window. She rushed the giant chains around me, hurriedly. "Lock yourself in the other room," I commanded. "Tonight is the First Quarter Moon. I don't know what I'm capable of anymore." My voice was out of energy. I felt like I was a monster at that moment. A vampire, craving for a little bit of blood.

The only difference.

Hulions don't drink blood.

"What about Jack?" She glanced at him on the bed. "Is he going to stay in the room with you?"

"Yes, now go!" I yelled, angrily as I perceived the veins crawling under my skin. "Why are you still standing in front of me, Hazel?" My head felt heavy. A severe headache navigated through my blood cells, ferociously. It gave me a bitter taste in my mouth.

"I'm not going anywhere." She refused. "I want to stay here."

"Are you out of your---" My bones started to crack against each other, unexpectedly. My neck as well. My vision went blurry as my eyes glowed yellow. I felt the rage growing between my teeth, my mouth felt sore, the tightness of my jaw replaced the sensitivity of the tiny tissues around my gums. My tongue was totally numb, my throat was dry as a desert island.

My hands started to shake constantly. This fire inside of me was bigger than myself. The hypertension of the flames grew all over my body as my ears whispered the invisible sins in the devil's hidden cage. My sweats aroused the goosebumps on my new skin as I tried to get a taste of the human contagious air.

All I could smell was Death.

Death upon the universe.

As my nails started to grow a little bit longer, I visualized the length on my fingertips. I realized that I wasn't myself. All of the scars upon my skin started to disappear one by one as I tried to free myself from the solid chains around me.

"Hawk?" Hazel called out. "Are you okay?" Her innocent voice blew me away. I wanted to tell her to stay away from me but the only thing that was stuck in my mind was Freedom.

"Get rid of the chains." I roared. "I want to be free."

"Ha--Hazel?" Jack's voice was wet with tears. "This isn't Hawk talking." He sat on the edge of the bed as he screamed in severe pain. Trying to fight the unpleasant feeling inside of him. "The Hulion side is taking full control of him. Stay away from him." He grabbed her left hand as she sat next to him, they both were staring at me as if I was a TV show.

"What's happening to him?" Hazel pleaded. "Maybe I should set him free."

"Hazel, look-- look--" He yelled in pain as he placed his right hand on the left side of his abdomen, below his heart. "Look at me! Don't let your feelings for Hawk get the best of you. You're better than this. Hawk can't get a sight of the moon. We need to find a way to cover that window behind him."

"Aren't you going to die soon?" Hazel asked, desperately. "What am I going to do if something happens to you?"

"I don't know what's happening right now but I'm still alive." He replied, sincerely. "And as long as I'm standing." Hazel stared at his feet, hanging on the tip of the bed. "Well, you know what I mean." He forced a smile. "As long as I'm still alive, nothing is going to happen to you. I'm going to protect you and I'll make sure that Hawk is fine."

"Thank you, Jack." She hugged him. "I'm scared."

"Don't be." He patted her back. "Hawk needs you."

Their conversation was as docile as a newborn baby. I trusted Jack Walter with my future wife. I wasn't jealous.

Okay, maybe just a little but I can promise you. I'm not jealous.

Am I sure? Yes, I am.

For Godsakes, yes I am.

Whatever you're thinking right now. Stop it. I'm not jealous okay.

"What the fuck are you doing, Jack?" I yelled as I tried to control myself. Yes, my jealousy was crawling under my skin. "Why are you hugging her?"

"Hawk?" Jack chuckled. "Relax, man!"

"Babe..." Her voice was so docile, I could taste the sweetness in her tone. "You need to stop overthinking. I'm your girl and I'm not leaving your side." She assured. "I promise."

To be quite honest, I wasn't myself. I was fighting the urge to feel human again. I was craving the moon so badly. Just a tiny peek. I said to myself. Just a tiny peek.
My own mind was betraying me and I loved it. I was trying my best to control myself but it was so hard. The moon was my new imaginary best friend. I needed it more than I needed Hazel and Jack.

I wish I could tell you how intense this feeling is, Hazel. This fire inside me feels so good. It's burning my soul with pure darkness and killing the light from Heaven. My skin feels different, I feel strong. I feel like the human world doesn't belong to me anymore. I want to manifest my powers and make your life a living hell.

Hell? I was already tasting the smell of the flames under my inhuman nose.

I felt like my head was about to explode. My humid body was my worst enemy. I didn't need blood in my system. I just needed to see the beautiful moon. I needed to worship the stars next to it and kiss the night goodnight.

I stared at Hazel for a few long seconds, waiting for her to understand my situation and accept the fact that I was no longer Hawk Wale. That her future husband was long gone, that my love for her was melting under the fire of the dangerous moon but she stayed still, contemplating my devil eyes, wishing to be in my arms once again.

"Hazel?" Jack broke the silence. "You need to leave."

"Why?" She asked, desperately. "I don't want to leave Hawk behind. I'm not going anywhere, Jack." She declined, vaguely. "I'm staying here whether you like it or not."

"You're his weakness, Hazel for God's sake."Jack tried to change her mind. "Do you have an idea of what might happen if he breaks these chains." He pointed his index finger at me. "He will kill you." He paused. "Without hesitation. That's why you have to stay away from him."

"I'm not leaving, Jack."

"Then lock yourself in the other room and don't come back until the moon disappears."

"Jack, you're not my boss." She ignored the consequences. "Stop telling me what to do! I'm not leaving here and that's final. I know you want to protect Hawk but I also want the same thing." She took a deep breath. "Stop pushing me away. I need Hawk to be okay and I know he will be."

"Fine." Jack gave in. "But six feet away."

"Okay, mister." She replied, sarcastically. "You're the boss anyway." She finally agreed and left the room.

I was there, listening to their conversation. However, Jack was right. He needed to protect her and I understood. I didn't know what I was capable of, I didn't want anything bad to happen to her.

More importantly, I didn't want to be the reason why.

"Thank you..." My words were out of energy. "Please promise me that you'll protect her if I'm no longer part human. If the darkness takes over, promise me..." A collapse of tiny tears dropped upon my face as I tried my best to finish my incomplete sentence. "Promise me that you'll kill me if that's the last thing you have to do for me to stay away from her." My voice was wet with tears and regrets. I felt like I was becoming a dangerous creature to the human world.

"Hawk..." Jack sat in front of me. "I'm sorry but I can't promise you anything."

"Why?" I yelled, in pain. "Why the fuck not?"

"I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep your promise," Jack revealed. "I'm probably going to die soon."

"You're still here, Jack." I reminded him. "Doesn't that mean something?"

"You're right." He agreed. "Okay fine, I promise."

"I feel like I'm in a movie right now." We both laughed. "Saying my last goodbyes."

"What's that around your neck?"

"My neck?" I scratched it hard. The heavy itch was very disturbing. "It just itches when I breathe."

"Stop! Stop!" He forbade me to keep going. "You've been marked." His words were sincere but I only had one question in my mind. How does he know so much? "When the moon turns to gold. You'll become the most powerful Hulion In history. You've been marked so there's no going back."

"What would happen to me?" I questioned, curiously. "Am I going to kill everyone around me?"

"To be real with you, I don't know." He confessed. "Your name is tainted by Lionland's blood. Look at your neck." He slid Hazel's small mirror in my direction as I took a brief look. "There are four little stars behind your left ear. There goes your name on the other side of your neck. You've been chosen. Your tears are no longer water. They can heal scars and they can also kill if it touches Hazel's skin, mine, or anyone around you."

What are Hulions capable of?

Hulions are stronger and faster than Humans, vampires, werewolves, or any creature that exists. They can hide their scars, prevent the future, and create illusions inside your head. A vampire is afraid of the sun but unlike Hulions, they enjoy it but are afraid of the full moon. It can melt their soul and make them disappear in a heartbeat.

What makes Hulions special?

Their tears and their power.

They are capable of many things. They can bring death upon the whole universe if they get a full sight of the first quarter moon. If somehow they bite you, you won't become one of them, you will suffer for days before you die. You won't recover from their blood. O' No but on the contrary, their tears are your only way out but it won't be easy. It's rare to ask them for mercy.

"I feel like my whole body is on fire," I screamed for help. "What do I do?"

Sweats! Sweats! Sweats!

All over my body.

"Your existence has begun."He noted. "Please, don't do anything crazy." He closed the door after him as I started to feel the heat between my teeth.

I didn't feel as though I was ready for the consequences. No fire could be cold enough to turn down the flames of my love for Hazel Brown. No Hulion power could be strong enough to sabotage our connection. No moon could be bright enough to light up the darkness within me.

I was losing my mind slowly. I wanted something different for my future. I didn't want to be powerful or be one of a kind. I wanted to be myself.

Hawk Wale. The kid that used to play in his father's garden, chasing after birds.

The kid that nobody liked in school. The kid that his mother abandoned.

The kid that was broken for many years and no one noticed. I wanted to be that kid in the basement, playing hide and seek with my dear brother, Jack Walter.

But that kid was dead. I was no longer myself.

"Hey..." Hazel interrupted my thoughts. "Shh..." She entered the room and closed the door after her. "Do you remember what you say when you were trying to date me for the first time?"

"Hazel?" I refused to listen. "You can't be here my love... And you know that..." I tried to remind her of my curse. "I love you and I would love for you to be by my side right now but you have to leave."

"We're on the boat right now..." She counted her steps, patiently. "What do you do?"

"What are you talking about?" I said, confused. "What boat?"

"The titanic boat?"She reminded me. "Are you going to let me drown?..." She broke down with tears. Her voice totally destroyed me entirely. "Or... Or are we going to die together as you promised?"

What in the world?

Hazel, why are you trying to break me even more by pulling the victim card?

"Please, don't take one more step..." I forbid her feet to stop moving. "Please, don't do this..." I wanted her closer to me but I just couldn't resist the hunger under my veins.

"Hawk..." Her body dropped on the floor, in front of me. "Hawk... It hurts..." Tears started to melt upon her cheeks as I tried to avoid eye contact. "Why the hell are you so selfish?"

"Hazel..." My jaw clenched. "Please, leave the room."

"You promised me that you were not going to break my heart..." She leaned in closer as she tried to plant a kiss on my lips. I totally rejected it. "Oh my gosh, you don't even want to kiss me?" She complained as she reproached me from my previous reckless move. "What did I do to you?"

"You'll be alright..." I said, calmly. "A kiss won't heal you."

"I might be desperate for a kiss now but you'll beg me to be in your life again." Her words were out of emotions. "I can promise you that."

"Try me, Hazel..." I challenged her. "I dare you to give your heart to another man. I'll break his neck, and I'll make sure that I do it right in front of you too." I lost it. "On God!"

"Hawk," She caressed my face, gently. "I don't care if you're going to be the most dangerous creature on earth. You'll still be my husband. The guy that I fell in love with." She destroyed my personal space as she bit my bottom lip, waiting for an entrance. "But please... Don't..."

"Hazel!!!" Jack yelled as he suddenly opened the door. "What the heck do you think you're doing? Come here!"

"I'm trying to talk to him," Hazel begged. "Please, I can change his mind. I can do it, I can do it..."

"Are you out of your mind, Lady?" Jack responded, annoyingly. "You can't stop it anymore. Hawk has been marked." Her eyes enlarged as she tried to leave the room but my teeth were already penetrating her right foot.

I don't know what came over me but I bit Hazel's foot.

Hazel, the love of my life was my first victim.

Hazel was bitten by the most powerful Hulion on earth.

Me.
