Hours were like drops of Jupiter on a heavy clock. Jack's words were tormenting my mind with confusions. We spent the entire day talking about the unknown letter, left by our grandmother, Ana Hudson. Which was also our mother's name. Her absence was invisible in my mind, her empty love blinded me with darkness. She was my mother, after all, I didn't hate her but my heart required her presence for a very long time. To the point that I got used to everything. Her love was no longer needed in my life.

The past destroyed me completely. Jack and my father were the only good people from my previous immature life. After my dear father's death, I didn't want to lose Jack, too. He was the only person that understood me and loved me when I hated myself back then. He used to tell me that mother cherished me from Heaven but deep down, he was just trying to show me that she thought of me every second of every day. Her love was real but injured.

At least, that was just a selfish lie that I used to tell myself to be powerful and useful.

Jack Walter, if you die today, I'll make sure your ashes don't perish under the enemy's ground. Your body will glorify the stars in Heaven and Angels of Paradise. Your soul will rest in peace under God's command. Your pure heart will magnify the existence of a real Legend.

Until then, I'll love you forever and I'll protect you even if I have to lose myself all over again.

Brother, we'll find the last page of the letter and we'll fight for dear life.

"Babe?" Hazel chased my thoughts away. "Did you try to fix the situation with Jack?" Her words captured my heart with a sensibility of affection. Hazel had a positive effect on me. "Where's Jack? He left?" Her tone revealed how worried she was about his future.

Hazel didn't want him to die.

Me neither.

"Yes, he did." I refused to make eye contact. My eyes melted by the movement of the letter between my cold fingers. "He left an hour ago..." I broke down my words as I tried to ignore her presence from a distance in my mind.

"Hawk?" Hazel caressed my shoulders from behind. "Are you okay?" Her gentle touch got the best of me.

No, baby. I'm not.

"I'm okay, Love." I forced a smile. "Did you eat? Do you want me to make you something?" Her reaction confused my inner self. She knew that I wasn't fine. "Stop looking at me like that babe, I told you I'm fine."My lie was too weak to cover my pain from the inside.

"You're not." She proved a good point. "Talk to me, Hawk. What's wrong?" She crawled. "I'm worried about you. Please, I want to know what's going on inside your head." Her lips immediately pressed against mine.

A pop kiss translated her love towards me.

"I just need some time, I'm trying to think straight." I rejected her presence. "Can I be alone?" My words were sharp and unprepared. "I don't feel like sharing my emotions right now."

"I understand that you're hurt right now but I don't want to leave you in this bad condition." She refused to grant my request. "I'm your girl and I hate when you're sad." She tried to change my mind. "Come on, babe. Talk to me." She pulled a chair from the table and placed it right in front of me. When I finally made eye contact with her, I gave in. I couldn't hold it anymore.

"Can you hold me?" My broken voice melted with pain. "I'm fractured."

Welcome to the bottom of Hell, where pain can kill your soul in a flash of flames. Where sadness gets the best of you and angels of death are in charge to elevate the darkness within you. Where happiness is forbidden and your eyes are begging for a little bit of light from Holy Heaven.

Quiet when I'm drowning in the devil's pool. I'm far from home.

Holy God, please guide me. I've learned to lose but I also don't want to smell blood in my hands.

"I'm here, babe." Her tears liquefied down my shirt. "Everything will be okay." She tried to comfort me. "I promise." I wanted it to be true but I just couldn't shake the bad truth behind the situation.

Hazel was wrong. Everything was not fine. It was just the beginning of a real disaster.

"Thank you for being by my side, beautiful." I pulled her in a little closer. "I love you, Waffle." The taste of her nickname was more like a reminder under my breath. "I love you more than anything in the whole world."

"I love you, too." She pulled back in slow motion, caressed my face with her suave fingers and shared a dry kiss on my left cheek. "You're my life. I just want you to be strong for me and our baby. Can you do that?" Her minty breath fanned my face, softly. "We need you, Hawk." There was a pause on her end. "Your baby needs you." She grabbed my right hand and placed it on her stomach, carefully.

"I know, babe." I let out a deep sigh. "I know..."

"I want you to fight this." She proposed. "We want you to fight this." Her second sentence referred to our baby. "Everything will be okay."

"I don't want to lose Jack," I revealed my true feelings. "I'm scared, Hazel. He is the only family that I have left." I paused, worryingly. "My only blood." The temperature of my tone refreshed the danger in my words. "What if the prophecy is real?"

Remind me once again, Hazel. Am I human, too?

Why do I feel like my identity is dangerous to the human world?

"What if it's not true?" She reversed my question and captured the positivity in the situation. "To be honest, I feel like you overthink too much and it's going to hurt you even more if you keep thinking so negative. You have to know that you and Jack didn't choose this life. You have to learn how to love yourself. I love you the way you are and nothing is going to change the way I feel about you." She was kind, her words were pure like the sweet ocean under the half moon.

Hazel was the first definition of perfection.

Perfect in her own kind of way.

"I'm trying to be strong..." I stated. "I'm trying but I can't shake the thought that somewhere out there, Jack might be in great danger and I might not be there to save him from his own enemies." My bad thoughts took my last energy. "I'll never forgive myself if something happens to him. He always protects me and now, I have to return the favor."

Now was the time.

"Jack is going to be just fine." She repeated between her teeth. "If you're so worried, call him on his cellphone. I'm pretty sure he's going to tell you the same thing." She insisted. "Go ahead, call him."

"You're right." I agreed. "He needs his space right now. He just lost Cassidy." I reminded myself of the tragedy. "He needs time to heal." I forced a smile, urgently. "I'll give him a call later tonight."

"Do you want me to order food?" Hazel sat on my lap as soon as my previous words satisfied her. "Do you want wings? I can make some." Her offer was pleasant in my ears but I wanted to do it instead. Hazel looked tired and sleepy.

I didn't want my princess to spend her last energy in the kitchen, making food.

That's why I'm here, Princess.

What's the point of having a boyfriend if he's not going to take care of you when you're out of vitality?

"Baby, I'll do it." I offered. "You should go upstairs and sleep." I wrapped my right hand around her neck as my lips enveloped hers, passionately. "You need it."

"I'm not tired." The lie grasped between her lips. "I can do it."

"Listen, princess." I gave her a fair command. "I'll do it. Don't test me or try to disrespect me. You know what I'm capable of." She understood what I meant. I didn't have to repeat myself, she was already following my order.

Hazel was on her way to the living room. All of a sudden, a scream screeched from her throat.

Babe! Babe! Babe!

"Babe?" Hazel screamed. "Something's wrong!" I ran to the living room as soon as I heard her.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" She couldn't move, her hands on her stomach, in pain. "Baby? What happened? Should I call the doctor?" I carried her to the couch as I kept asking her the same question over and over again.

Should I call the doctor?

"My stomach is killing me." She replied, painfully. "It's like a fire inside me." As soon as my hand touched her belly, my Hulion side returned back to earth. My eyes automatically turned yellow. The tension of my body rose up to its final degree. I took away her pain just by one touch but something else was happening.

Hazel passed out on the couch.

Hazel wasn't waking up.

"Hazel!! Hazel! Babe!" I kept yelling. "Babe, wake up! Wake up!"

Please, wake up Hazel! Please.

Is the baby okay? Is she okay?
