"For god sake, Hyun noona!"
"I told you I can walk! You don't have to carry me!" Hyun Ae sighed, still being carried by Jungkook as they entered her house.
Yoongi was making sure the door was locked while the young one put the girl onto the sofa in the living room.
"Sheesh! It's not like I had broken legs," she mumbled in annoyance as she sat up. "You guys should go now-"
"No. We're staying," Yoongi cut her off as he sat next to her.
"But-"
"I told Jin hyung about what had happened. And also about we're staying here tonight."
"But you guys got works-"
"Who cares? They will pick us up here in the morning," Jungkook snickered, sitting on the sofa's armrest next to her.
"We only care about you. If it wasn't for Jungkook's weird feeling... Bad things would've happened to you," Yoongi sighed heavily, letting his hand run across his face before turning back at her. "Now where is your first aid kit?"
"Why don't... I take a shower first?" Hyun Ae suggested, before pointing to Yoongi's wounded hand and Jungkook's scratched cheek. "Both of you too. Those cuts needed to be treated."
*
"There you go," Hyun Ae muttered, after softly blowing air onto Yoongi's hand, covered with a few band-aids. "Please heal soon. There are songs needed to be finished by your owner with those skillful fingers."
"Do you think that'll work?" Yoongi chuckled, smiling as he pulled his hand, staring at it.
"Well, it's my habit. Right, Kookie?" Hyun Ae turned to Jungkook, who was busy with his Switch after she put on a cute bunny band-aid over the scratch on his cheekbone.
"True. She used to kiss the cuts too-"
"When we were younger," she immediately cut him off. Then Jungkook gave her a cheeky smile as she stared at him. "Don't give me that look. Don't expect me to kiss your cheek."
"Tch," the maknae sighed, pulling his long face as he continued on his game. "Oh, Hyun noona. I'm sleeping here, on the sofa."
"Really? You don't want to sleep in the rooms?" she asked as she stood up with the aid kit in her hands.
"No," he paused, biting his lips before he looked back at her and said, "but I want to sleep with you here."
"In your dreams, kid!!! No way!"
"But you slept with Namjoon hyung before!"
"But that was because of thunderstorms, remember?!"
"Please noona~ We did it before?"
"That was when you were six and I was seven, Kookie. Don't make that face."
The face of Jungkook being such a baby. With his doe eyes and pouty lips, his hands clasping together as he began to plead in his most whiny voice. "Hyun noona~"
"Ugh. Fine," Hyun Ae sighed, giving up at his unavoidable cuteness. Jungkook, being himself back, began to flash a wide smile as he made small hops on the sofa, clearly excited.
Hyun Ae shook her head, as she walked toward the storage cabinet at the back of the house, where the extra pillows and blankets were stored.
"I thought you have fear of girls," Yoongi pointed out, as he stood up from the sofa with a mocking laugh.
"If it's Hyun noona, it's okay," the young one remarked, giving his hyung a wink.
Soon after, Hyun Ae appeared behind the sofa with two pillows and a large comforter. Jungkook began to transform the sofa into a bed when suddenly Yoongi spoke.
"Hyun Ae ah... Can I sit awhile in your studio?" he asked, scratching the back of his neck.
"Oh, of course. Make yourself comfortable," she smiled, gesturing her hand towards her studio.
As Yoongi disappeared into the room, Hyun Ae walked towards the kitchen, grabbing a jar of chocolate chip cookies and a small bottle of mineral water. "Kookie, you want some snacks?"
"Oh, thank you noona," Jungkook thanked her as she passed both the jar and the water to him, before continuing on with his game.
Hyun Ae then made her way toward her studio and softly knocked on the door, opening it slowly.
"Yoongi oppa?" she called out, as she stepped into the studio and closed the door behind her, and walked towards her workplace where Yoongi was sitting.
"Sorry, I switched on your computer," he apologized, as he stood up from the swivel chair.
"Nah, it's okay," Hyun Ae said, gesturing for him to sit back on the chair, which he followed immediately. "Besides, it has been a while since the last time I used it," she chuckled, playing her mouse around the screen, and randomly opening some folders.
"Oh. Do you remember? That day when I told you about my scar?" she suddenly said.
"Yes?" Yoongi responded as he looked up at her.
"Remember the note that I talked about? The one that I found in my bag? It's here."
Suddenly, Hyun Ae crouched down beside her table, pulling the last drawer open.
"You framed it," he pointed out as she pulled out a small photo frame, with its back facing up.
"Well... since it's kinda precious to me..." she chuckled, then passed it to him as she flipped it around. Yoongi took it and stared at the small piece of paper behind the small clear glass.
"Oppa? Yoongi oppa?" Hyun Ae called out when she noticed his shaky breathing and his eyes went wide. She placed her hand on his arm, shaking it and finally getting his attention. "Are you alright?"
"Y-Y-Yeah..."
"So it's your friend's handwriting?"
"It is."
"Wow. The world is indeed a small place," Hyun Ae let out small laughter. "But... I don't know if... I will get the chance to meet him. I mean, though if I meet him, there's a high chance that I might not be feeling the same way I did back then. And people changed from time to time. So am I."
"But what will you do if he begins to take care of you?"
Yoongi's question kind of caught her off guard. Her lips pursed as she kept on thinking of an answer. "Well, I can consider that. But I have to know the person first," she answered.
"I... I don't think you'll be seeing him soon."
"Why? Is he also an idol? Or is he an actor? Oh, maybe a CEO?"
Suddenly, silence kicked in between them. Yoongi then sighed and glanced at the time on her desktop.
"Let's just sleep now. It's almost 2 am," he muttered, placing the frame on top of the table as he stood up.
"Oh, okay," Hyun Ae said, and began to switch off her computer.
After making sure everything was turned off including the lights, both of them left the studio. And saw Jungkook was still on his game.
"Oh, did you brush your teeth?" Hyun Ae asked, her arms across her chest as she tapped her toes on the floor when Jungkook put down his Switch. "I'm not sleeping with you if you haven't-"
"Fine, fine!" the maknae sighed, swiftly got onto his feet, and ran upstairs to the bathroom.
Hyun Ae giggled, when suddenly Yoongi placed his hand on her left shoulder, turning her to face him.
"Hyun Ae ah. Be careful of Jungkook. You know, if his hands..."
"Haha, if he does that, I know what to do. So don't worry, okay?"
"I'll go up now," he whispered after he heard her words. Suddenly Yoongi stepped closer to her and kissed her forehead.
Hyun Ae froze on the spot. Everything that Yoon Hee had told her began to make its comeback.
Does he like me? No. Impossible.
She shook her head, only to find Yoongi walking away towards the staircase.
"Yoongi oppa," she quickly called out, and as he turned around, she smiled. "Good night."
In a deep voice, he chuckled as he replied, "good night, Hyun Ae. Sweet dreams."
***
"Hm..."
Hyun Ae stirred around, stretching her back as she moved around the sofa bed, ignoring the fact that her arms had hit Jungkook's face a few times.
But she had nothing to worry about because she knew his sleeping habits so well.
Suddenly, the smell of something delicious filled the entire house, making her prop herself up on her elbows.
With her messy bedhead, she looked up over the sofa towards the kitchen and saw Yoongi that was holding a frying pan in his right hand.
"Oh, did I wake you up? Sorry," he smirked, transferring the scrambled eggs he made onto the plate.
He glanced up and giggled when he only can see her head with messy hair popping out from the sofa. "Look at you. Good morning, Hyun Ae."
"Good morning, oppa," Hyun Ae chuckled, as she buried her face back into her pillow. Then she sat up immediately after realizing something. "Oh right. You guys are working today."
"Wake him up. Breakfast is almost ready," Yoongi told her, as he turned back to the stove to fry some bacon strips.
"Kookie ah, wake up. You have to go to work," Hyun Ae mumbled groggily, still sleepy as she shook the maknae's body. But there was no response from him. As usual. "Jeon Jungkook, wake up!"
He grumbled then stirred around, only to push her away as he flipped to the opposite side and continued to sleep under the comforter.
Annoyed, Hyun Ae pulled the comforter away from him and continued to shake him. This time, by poking her finger on his cheek to annoy him.
"Aigoo, my baby Kookie. Wakey wakey!" Hyun Ae whispered directly into his right ear.
This situation began to change quickly as Jungkook suddenly turned at her, and in a blink of an eye, Hyun Ae found herself below Jungkook, his hands on both sides of her head and her body between his knees, trapping her.
"W-What are you doing?" she stuttered nervously, staring at the hanging bangs of his hair.
Jungkook took a glance at Yoongi, who was completely unaware of their situation as he was focusing on his cooking.
"Noona," in a deep voice, he began to whisper.
"Will there be a one day... where you'll be seeing me as a grown-up man instead of a baby?"
"Grown-up or not, you will always be my baby Kookie," Hyun Ae smoothly answered, placing her hands on both of his cheeks, giggling.
"Ugh..." he groaned, finally moving away from her with annoyance. But the girl found it the cutest moment of him that day with his messy hair.
"Come on! Let's eat!" she said, grabbing the young's arm and dragging him towards the kitchen.
Yoongi was just done placing the bacon strips onto the plates beside the scrambled eggs. He also had made pancakes.
"Wow, look at all this!" Hyun Ae gasped.
"This is nothing much," he sheepishly said, placing the pan he had been using into the sink.
"But still..." she laughed and grabbed her fork, cutting a piece of the pancake. "Ah... this is so yummy!"
As she continued to eat along with Jungkook, Yoongi was pouring his orange juice when his eyes caught the dark shades on her neck, instantly reminding him of last night's incident.
"Hyun Ae ah, is your neck..."
"Oh. The marks would probably disappear in two or three days. Don't worry. The pain had lessened now. Plus I can wear a turtleneck shirt or a scarf to cover it up."
"Don't you think that he'll come back, again?"
"I... I'm not sure," she mumbled, looking down at the plate, then she scooped some of the eggs as she continued. "Hopefully he won't."
"Don't you want to report it to the police? Maybe you can request protection?"
"I don't think so. It's fine. Don't worry."
"How can I not worry? Last night, you almost got rap-" Yoongi immediately cut himself off, then let out a heavy sigh. "Just... you're not going home alone ever again. And don't stay at the café until late at night."
"Fine," she groaned, taking another bite of the pancake before sipping her drink.
"Did you wear those shoes?" Yoongi suddenly asked her a different question. She shot him a look of confusion as he proceeded. "The ones that I gave to you."
"Ah... Since it's expensive, I will only wear it on special occasions," Hyun Ae explained, still munching her pancake.
"Like what? A date?"
"Good suggestion," she nodded, after swallowing her breakfast down, then chuckled because she noticed his completely-annoyed look with the answer she had given to him. "Well, you mentioned 'date'-"
"Finish up quickly, Jungkook ah. Jin hyung will be here in thirty-five minutes," Yoongi told the maknae when he began to scoop up some of the eggs.
*
The doorbell rang. Hyun Ae made a run to the door and opened it.
"Seokjin oppa-"
"Hyun Ae ah! Are you okay? Ah, look at your arms. Band-aids everywhere!" Jin suddenly rushed into the house, immediately grabbing both of her hands, and looking around her arms with band-aids.
"Oppa, I'm totally fine-" Hyun Ae stopped as she had just realized that someone else was with him. "Namjoon oppa..."
In silence, Namjoon let his eyes fall onto her neck. He slid his hand and touched her neck, letting his thumb softly brush her bruised skin.
"Your neck. You were choked?" he uttered.
Hyun Ae nodded in a response to his question. Both of them sighed, and then he hugged her.
"I'm glad you're okay."
"And I am so glad that they found me. If they didn't..."
"Oh, look at both of you," Jin suddenly chuckled, as his attention shifted to Jungkook and Yoongi, walking towards them. "Band-aids are like medals for your heroic actions last night, huh?" he snickered, patting Jungkook's head, with a proud smile spread across his face before turning back to Hyun Ae. "Well, we'll be going now. See you next time."
"You too. And thank you for saving my life last night," she thanked once again, grabbing Yoongi's hand and shaking it.
"Don't mention it," Yoongi whispered softly, patting her head and stroking her hair softly.
"Now, it's time for me to prep myself for work-"
"You'll be staying home the whole day."
"WHAT?" Hyun Ae blurted out, then she chuckled in disbelief. "I have to go to work! I need to work out my proposal-"
"That's why I'm here!" another voice interrupted from the front door.
All of them turned to the voice, and eyes widened when a guy in a neat uniform came in with a folder in his hand.
"Henry?!"
"Sorry, my dear. Yoongi dealt with me first last night. So here are your papers, you're doing it from home," Henry smirked, handing out the folder to her.
"But-" Hyun Ae then let out a heavy sigh, taking the folder with heavy feelings. "Fine. Have a good day everyone."
"Give us a call if you need anything," Henry reminded her before all of them began to leave the house after exchanging greets among themselves, off to their daily routines.
Hyun Ae looked at the folder in her hands, then sighed again as she closed the door behind her.
"Well... at least it's a bit relaxing if I do it at home."
*
Hours passed by, and the sky above the city of Seoul had already been painted dark orange, inviting the nighttime.
Hyun Ae stirred around on her couch in the library of her home, and the sound of her pen falling to the floor woke her up.
"Oh. I overslept," she yawned, stretching her body before sitting up straight and rubbing her eyes.
She looked around the library, only to realize that the lights weren't on like it was supposed to be. "The lights supposedly..."
She stood up and made her way to the door, opening it slowly. Only to discover the entire house in dark, when in fact she had left the lights on in the kitchen area and the main door switched on earlier.
Confused, she made her way downstairs to the back of the house to check on the main power.
"Did the electricity..." She let her words fade as she discovered the main switch for the entire house's electricity was flipped off. She immediately flipped it on and the electricity went back on.
As she went back to the living room, she heard a thump from inside one of the guest rooms upstairs, which made her a bit uneasy.
"Must be my... imagination-" then she gasped as she heard a loud bang from the room. She quickly went into her room and grabbed her father's BB gun from her secret compartment behind her door, and loaded it up.
"H-Hello?" she called out as she climbed up the stairs. She tiptoed her way toward the room, gripping tight on the gun. "I'm armed with a gun here," she said, before turning the knob and pushing it slowly.
The room was dark, as she expected. She took a few steps inside and instantly regretted it as a pair of arms caught her from behind.
