Jackson's POV:

To say I'm grateful is the I understatement of the year. I'm thankful for the doctors that saved Maya. I'm thankful that we got there in time. And I'm thankful that's she forgave me for leaving her.

I look down at her asleep on my chest. She's literally the definition of perfection. She was talking in her sleep a couple minutes ago which freaked me out. Something about a YouTube channel. She's so random.

"Yep, I promise to get the pearls" she mumbles. What pearls? I rub her back and listen to her mumble and argue with herself. I can't wait til I can take her home. I'm hoping they'll release her today. I can tell she wants to go home. All she talks about is going swimming.

I'm still furious at my family. My own damn cousin raped her. I blame myself for this. If Maya found that out she would be pissed. Her phone starts going off, I look over and see her dad calling. Choosing to ignore it, I'll make her call him back when she wakes up. The more sleep she gets the more energetic she is. I love when she's energetic and acts like herself.

She randomly shoots up from the bed which fucking scares me. I stare at her wide eyed questioning if she asleep or fully awake.

"I wanna go home princess" she huffs and turns to look at me. So she is awake.

"I'm not your princess" I grumble out under my breath. "I'll go ask the doctors in a minute if you can" I tell her.

"Thank you sweet honey bunches of oats" she grins at me. I'm bout to throw this girl away.

"Whatever" I mumble.

"Don't get your panties in a twist, sunshine. You should be glad that I'm even talking to you. I'm basically wayyyy cooler than you. Yet here I am, little ol me giving mister big  bad man a chance hashtag be thankful" she rambles out. I kiss her forehead and her face turns red.

"I am thankful more than you'll ever know" she smiles and winks at me. She's so weird. "Im gonna see if you can go home" I say getting up she rolls off of me and falls directly onto the floor. "Are you okay" I know that probably hurt.

"I'm fine" she says angrily getting up. She points at me "that was your fault sunshine." Maya plainly states sticking her finger in my face.

"You're right I should've used my super human speed to catch you. That's on me sorry." I apologize.

"Finally a man that admits when he's in the wrong" she huffs and rolls her eyes.

I leave the room and walk to the nurses station. Ever since maya's  accident, I've been talking to people more. She expressed the other day how proud she is of me. She always says she's proud of me. I could drink water and she'd be proud.

I walk up to the nurses station and see a younger nurse quickly fix her top and stick out her chest. I roll my eyes at her actions.

"Can I help you with anything" she asks in a flirtatious voice. I make sure to keep direct eye contact with her.

"Yes I was wondering when MY WIFE could go home." Her eyes widen immediately. Okay she's not my wife yet but who cares.

"Uh um what's her name" she says looking over files.

"Maya Prince"

"Uh yes, she should be able to leave in a few hours."

I'm mumble a quick thanks under my breath and make my way back to Maya. Only to find her doing yoga?

"What are you doing" I ask rubbing my face.

"Yoga. I heard it helps the muscles." Yoga in a hospital room? She's crazy.

"Well I have good news, the nurse said you can go home in a couple hours." Her face lights up almost instantly.

"I can go home and swimmmmmm" she jumps up and down.

"I swear you're an actual child" she rolls her eyes at me. "I'll give you something to roll your eyes about" I mumble under my breath quietly.

"Huh, what'd you say?"

"Nothing" I smile at her. "Get your stuff ready, so you can be ready to leave." She nods approvingly at my suggestion and starts cleaning.

On the way home

We're about 10 minutes away from home and Maya decided to pass out. It scares me that she always talks in her sleep. She's literally been asleep for 5 minutes and is already talking about the treasure.

"Yes, I found it Dan. Mhm I call you later" Who the fuck is Dan? She starts to violently move around in the passenger seat. Lord, just let me make it home. I send a silent prayer.

I see her massive house in the distance and send a thanks to the big man upstairs and pull in the driveway.

"Maya, get up. I'm not carrying you in"

"Mhmshsbm" she mumbles.

"I'm not gonna carry you, get up" I tell her loudly.

I carry Maya up to her bedroom after she refused to get up. I gently throw her on her bed.

"Well if I knew you was going to throw me I would've walked."

"I knew you were awake" I narrow my eyes at her.

"Indeed I was. I'm just lazy" she gives me a half smile. "Now go lock my door in case my dad comes home and let's go to sleep sunshine"

"You if your dad does come home and finds your door locked and somehow manages to get in. And I'm laying in your bed. I'm going to be dead. You do understand this right?" I question her.

"You won't be dead, I'm won't allow it. You would simply be close to death."

"That makes me feel a lot better." I say sarcastically.

"Good, it should. Now come lay down" she scolds. "I'm going to change"

"You can change it here if you want" I smirk.

"Don't be such a guy" she says face red.

"Sorry I promise to be more feminine"

"Good my love, don't break your promise" her face is still red as she goes to the bathroom.

She comes out in sweatpants and a sweatshirt. She does a little twirl and gestures towards her outfit.

"Wow did you dress up just for me" I joke.

"Yes, I did. It's my best outfit" she sighs out.

"You look like a model" I play along.

"I know." She smiles "okay I'm sleepy now, let's go to bed sunshine" she sticks her tongue out at me for no reason at all and lays down.

School is out updates will be way quicker now. Also I can't believe this book is almost over already.
