HE LEANED IN towards me, his eyes filled with emotions as they locked with my own spark filled brown orbs, his hands brushing away a strand of hair that strayed from my messy bun.

The closer he got, the faster my heart began to pump, the only thing audible being the heaviness of our breathing. Now being able to feel his peppermint scented breath fan across my face, our lips were just one inch away from touching.

Just like he'd heard my thoughts, he leaned in and I closed my eyes.

But his lips never met my own.

I jilted up awake, a groan escaping my lips as I rubbed my eyes and rose to a sitting position.

'What the heck!' I thought, unable to process my own dream correctly.

'Why would I? Why would he? Why would we?' Groaning to myself whilst clutching my head, I continued to ponder why on earth I'd ever dream about me and Caden, like that.

"It's about time." Jumping 5 feet into the air, a scream erupted throughout my room, my heart thumping against my chest and the hair on my arms rising in utter shock and fear at the all to familiar voice.

My head snapped to the right and my eyes narrowed at Caden's amusedly mischievous grin, his teeth softly bitting into his lip as he kept in a laugh.

"Dream about me?" Caden chuckled, his amazingly enticing eyes- wait. What?

"Something like that." I muttered under my breath, still very much in disbelief at his amazing timing to be in my bedroom.

"What?" He asked as my mouth parted and my eyes widened 10 times more than they originally were.

"What?" I replied, trying to throw him off by answering his question with a question of my own.

"I thought you just said- never mind." Shaking his head, he cut himself off.

"What are you here? At this time!" I asked.

"First of all, it's almost 4pm, lazy! And you weren't answering your phone." Caden finally began to explain the reason for his presence lurking in my room without my consent and knowledge.

"How long have you been here?" I questioned incredulously.

"10 minutes." Refusing to remove the smirk across his lips, they curved up, defining the grin even more.

"Still. It doesn't make it any less creepier. You were basically watching me sleep!" Rolling his eyes, my eyebrows raised.

"I suppose. Now get up sleeping beauty. Get dressed." Trying to keep the smile down at the nickname, I shot him a glare and allowed my feet to drag me to my wardrobe, my hands brushing against each item of clothing that hung in my already packed wardrobe.

"Can I just ask what I'm getting dressed for?" I asked, looking over my shoulder to see him raking through a drawer.

A rather- private drawer.

Holding up a pair of my lace undergarments, he swung it from side to side, wiggling his eyebrows up and down as I stormed towards him, grabbing it out of his hands and chucking it back in the drawer, slamming it shut and shooting daggers at his retreating back.

Plopping down onto my messily unmade bed, he placed his hands behind his head, watching me intently.

Breaking the silence, he grinned. 'When doesn't he' I thought sarcastically.

"Didn't take you for a lace kind of girl." Hearing the amusement in his voice, I scoffed at his words and chose to ignore him.

"Moving on." I mumbled under my breath. "Will you tell me what I'm dressing for now?" I asked, crossing my arms against my chest as I watched him pick up the stuffed animal he won me at the carnival.

Smiling softly at the memory, I allowed my eyes to look him over from head to toe. He was dressed up a little more than usual. Finally, I settled in on his eyes and the way they concentrated on the fuzzy bear.

"Like something you see?" Smirking at my flustered self, I cleared my throat and opened my mouth to speak but no words seemed to come out. "I- uh-n-no. I was just-" giving up on trying to find a suitable explanation, I shook my head.

Spinning on my heel to face my wardrobe, I went back to looking for an outfit.

"Oh and- you're meeting my parents." My jaw dropped to the ground. My body swishing round to face him as my widened eyes took in his serious expression.

"What!" I squeaked out. "But I- it's not even been a month yet!" I incredulously stated, arms flapping about in the air as he sighed, placing the stuffed animal back in its original place.

"Yeah I know. I kind of let your name slip out and my parents immediately presumed that you were yet another fling. Obviously, I had to correct them since you're my 'girlfriend' and now they want to meet 'my girl'." He explained, bending his fingers as he quoted 'girlfriend' and 'my girl'.

"Oh god. Oh god. I don't even have anything to wear!" I exaggerated, watching Caden's face scrunch up in disbelief as his eyes shifted to my wardrobe and his finger pointed to the packed wardrobe behind me.

"What are you talking about? You have plenty. You're closet looks like it's about to explode!" Caden stated, rising to his feet as he rolled his eyes at my panicked state.

"Oh god." I continued to mutter and repeat as I paced around my room, wondering if it was fancy or causal or casually fancy. Casually fancy? What?

"Here." Passing me a grey bag, I furrows my eyebrows, peering into the bag and gasped

Dropping the bag to the ground, I pulled out the dress only to admire everything about it.

It was beautiful. The rose gold colour immediately stood out to me first. The dress was all lace, with 2 straps that would sit just below my shoulders.

"It's beautiful." I told Caden, my eyes meeting his as silence overcame us, my heart swelling as the weirdest of feelings erupted within my stomach at the gesture.

"How did you-"

"I guess I just know you well enough to know that you'd panic despite the thousands of other outfit choices of yours." Sheepishly smiling, he stuffed his hands into his pockets, eyes still locked with my own.

"I- thank you." I told him, smiling brightly as my eyes wavered back to the dress.

"For a guy you've got a surprisingly good taste in dresses." I suspiciously told him, laughing at the way he turned a deep red colour.

"No-no- I'm not-no- the lady in the store helped me out." He explained, causing me to laugh even more.

"Alright. I'll go and get ready then." I told him walking away, towards the bathroom.

Smiling at his still position, I reversed back, now standing at his side. Side glancing at me, he looked down, tilting his head slightly as he watched me confusedly.

With the same bright smile, I pushed myself onto my toes and placed a short and sweet kiss on his cheek, moving away before he could say anything or even register my actions.

Rushing into the bathroom, I shut the door, leaning against it as my cheeks flushed a pinky red colour, the tingly feeling in my stomach increasing and becoming less avoidable.

Taking a moment to register my own actions, my finger brushed over my lips.

Oh god.
