THE ATTENTION THAT Caden and I were beginning to receive was crazy and honestly kind of worrying since out of all the things to be going rabid over, they chose the 'Does Caden King have a girlfriend' topic.

Whether we were on our own without each other or together, people always seemed to be looking at us- staring at us even.

Almost as if they were trying to figure out what was going on between the two of us and the more they leaned towards the idea of us dating, the closer Caden and I had to get in order to keep the topic trending.

First, I met his surprisingly friendly and welcoming friends. Then, he'd sit next to me in all the classes we had together. He'd throw his arm around my shoulder the minute we'd step out the classroom and he'd hold my hand at every chance he got.

By that, I meant anytime he had the opportunity to hold my hand when I wasn't look and unaware because anytime he tried to do that, his stomach would receive a painful encounter with my elbow.

"Come on, just let me hold your hand." Caden moaned, his hand trying to catch my own, but failing miserably as I pulled it away every time he'd make a useless attempt.

"No, noones looking so cut the crap you big baby." I stated, rolling my eyes at the way he huffed like a child.

"Yeah, but for practise." He pointed out, eyebrows raising as he tried to throw explanations my way.

Sighing deeply, with a shake of my head. "No, I don't want to hold your big sweaty hand." I snarled, arms crossed against my chest as he chased after me down the long corridor.

"Big, sweaty hands? Babe, the only sweating you'll be doing involving my hands is when your und- ." He stupid smirk lingering upon his lips as my eyes widened and I pressed my hand against his lips to stop him from uttering a single word.

"Don't even bother finishing that sentence off. God you're such a pig." I exclaimed, the tone of my voice so high that it almost came out in a squeak.

"Princess, don't deny it, I know deep down you want me." He winked, which set off my usual reaction to his heartbreaker ways.

"You think- that I- that I- w-w want you." I hysterically laughed, my body hunched over as I clutched my stomach in pain from laughing so hard.

Crossing his arms and furrowing his eyebrows, his smirk vanished.

"Awh, did I bruise the little babies ego." I cooed, my fingers hovering over his cheek as I pinched them, watching his thin lips curl into a scowl.

"Oh please, I know you're attracted to me. You just can't accept that you are." Caden egotistically announced as he lunged forward and grabbed my hand with his own, catching me off guard.

"Perfect fit, dont you think, princess." He winked flirtatiously as it took a second for me to comprehend that he managed to grab my hand. Caden walking ahead as he dragged me to the cafeteria.

"Just you shut it, king." I mumbled as we made our way past several people who I didn't fail to notice the stares that we received from them.

Averting my attention to Caden and I's hands, I couldn't help but feel weird about how normal it felt. And that only made it weirder.

"Come on, my friends want to see you again. They're in the courtyard. Although I can't think why, because you're just such a joyous ball of sunshine." Caden sarcastically started. At his words and tone, I laughed.

"Wow, you being sarcastic is quite the change but sadly for you, that's my forte." I fought back, a proud smile painted across my face as I watched him roll his eyes.

"Uhm, rolling of the eyes is my thing too. Find something else King." Cracking an amused smirk, he didn't reply, but instead fought away a smile with his usual smirk.

"Riley, hey!" Came a friendly and familiar voice.

Turning away from Caden, I looked ahead, only to be pulled into a welcoming hug.

"Hey Jo." I said, returning the smile as she pulled me onto the bench, pushing Jake off, catching him off guard as he was mid stuffing his face with food before he fell to the ground, eyes wide open as it seemed that everything happened too fast for him.

"What the hell." Jake finally shouted, clambering to his feet as he glared at Jo.

"Oh shut up and sit down and continue to stuff that big gob of yours." Jo scoffed as she brushed him off, earning a series of laughter from around the table.

"God, we've missed you Riles. You should really come and eat lunch with us." Lola spoke up, releasing a sigh of relief.

"What do you mean you've missed her?" Caden scoffed as he looked between the three of us in utter disbelief.

"You haven't seen her in three days, that's hardly anything." Caden continued earning a glare from Lola, Jo and I.

"Excuse me for appreciating your lady friends presence." Lola replied causing me to choke on my own breath.

"Lady friend?" I asked in puzzlement as I stared at Lola with amusement.

"Lady friend? Really?" Jake laughed along with Will as Caden cracked a smile.

"Yeah, well if she's not your lady friend, then what is she?" Lola asked, a grin appearing on her face as Jo caught onto what Lola was trying to get at.

'Oh she's good.' I thought as I realised that Lola was trying to pry the information from Caden in the most sly and conniving way.

Sharing a look with me, his eyes travelled between his friends and I, a smile resting on his lips as he reached forward and grabbed my hand with his own.

"She's my girlfriend." He admitted, causing Lola and Jo to go into a frenzy of squeals of joy.

"Awh, that's so cute. We definitely approve." Jo confirmed, squeezing my shoulders as they all cracked smiles.

Will did too, but due to his shy personality, a small smile was all that he sported.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be taking my girlfriend back now." Caden spoke up, standing up followed by me as I followed his action.

Saying our goodbye's, we walked off.

Leaving through the front doors, I felt the cool breeze brush against my face as we made our way towards our cars.

On reaching my car, I pulled my hand away, finding myself unable to move, as Caden's hand gently latched onto my elbow, pulling me towards him, sending me stumbling backwards.

"What the he-."

"Shush." He smiled as my eyes widened at his actions.

"Caden-." Stopping me once again from finishing off my sentence, he placed his finger on my lips in an attempt to silence me.

And goddammit, it worked.

Completed shocked with what he was doing, I remained silent, we both did actually.

We continued to stare at each other, a smile present on Caden's face as his gaze never left my eyes.

To say I wasn't feeling anything out of the ordinary would be a complete and utter lie, because with the way he looked at me, something inside me clicked, I just didn't know what it was.

And then, almost instantly, he pulled away, taking a step back, causing the weird sensation within me to vanish as I blinked, unable to think straight.

Leaning back against his car, a grin appeared as Caden stated his words loud and clear. "I told you so."
