"Oh shit!" Tyrone stumbled back, tripping over the toys.

His heart must have been racing a thousand miles per second when he fell just as the girls staggered his way.

"Fuck!" He hurried to his feet as their faces completely changed.

Regaining his balance, he went to make a run for it but ran smack into the husband.

"Yoooo!" He hollered while weaving when he lunged for him.

Hearing the commotion August and the group woke up but Shadae was the first one out of the room with the gun drawn.

"RUN!" Tyrone sprinted past the door and down the stairs.

Without a question, Shadae fired off 2 shots into the husband's skull.

The little girls glared in her direction as they snipped and snarled while the blood dripped onto the carpet.

"What the hell?" Natasha's eyes widened.

"Car! Now!" She demanded, ready to shoot but Amelia grabbed her arm.

"Don't! They're just kids!"

"What the f- get back!" Shadae screamed fighting with her.

"AMELIA!" August and Natasha called.

"They're kids!" Amelia cried, pushing Shadae down just as one of the girls grabbed her shirt and screamed.

"Oh nah bitch," August quickly retrieved his gun and let off 3 rounds into their heads before they could bite Amelia's arm.

Snatching her up, August headed towards the steps just as Tyrone was running back up wide-eyed with sweat glistening on his forehead.

"We're trapped!"

Everyone peeked at the 6 zombies heading for the stairs.

"Bedroom, now!" August asserted.

Rushing inside the room, Shadae helped barricade the door as Natasha examined Amelia's body for any marks. "Why would you do that?!"

"I could've shot you!" Shadae yelled after pushing the dresser into the bed.

"I-I'm sorry."

"Sorry? Amelia, they were going to eat us, I could have shot you." She stressed pacing back and forth.

"Don't ever let me see you do no mess like dat, you're my child so you should know better. Next time, I'ma let 'em get a lil taste of yo blood." August threaten as he tried to think of a way out.

Terrified, Amelia hugged Natasha and cried softly. "I didn't mean to."

"The window," Leah mumbled to herself as she grabbed the sheets and started tying them together.

"Huh?" They spoke in unison, watching her frantically tie the sheets together trying to ignore the zombies banging on the door.

"We need sheets, lotsss of sheets," she stressed.

Tyrone rushed into the closet and Shadae ran into the bathroom. August picked up their overnight bag and pulled out the rope he remembered packing.

Once they tied everything together, they stared at one another for a moment.

"Women first, and I'll go last," August said.

"What?! Hell no!" Natasha protested.

"Look, I'ma be a'ight, but if something happens to y'all, it'll fuck me up."

"You gotta come with us, daddy." Amelia panicked.

"I'll stay back with you," Shadae spoke up after checking the clip.

"No, you aren't." Tyrone declared.

Amused, she stared at him as if he had an extra head growing. He seemed to have forgotten that she was an Agent and he was a Doctor, two completely different lanes. "Yes, the hell I am! He and I aren't in the same business for no damn reason, so shut the hell up and help them out the damn window. We'll meet y'all around the corner in three minutes." her face held irritation.

"Go," August nudged a reluctant Natasha towards the window.

"You gotta be safe, daddy." Amelia pleaded.

"I will, look out for your mom." He placed a kiss on her forehead. Looking at Natasha, he smiled softly. "I barely know you and here I am feeling like I should be telling you goodbye or some shit." He chuckled.

"Don't... you better meet us outside in two minutes." She said fighting back the tears.

"I hear you, ma." He replied then nodded towards the window where Tyrone was helping Leah climb out.

"Be careful." She repeated.

"I will."

Amelia got on Natasha's back and August helped them get out the window.

Holding their homemade sheet ladder steady, he kept his eyes on them the whole way down.

"A'ight you next." He looked at Tyrone.

Nodding, he went to say something to Shadae but she stopped him. "You just make sure that car is around the corner."

Smiling, he climbed down just as the door cracked.

"Go Shadae," August asserted, cocking his gun, and firing off a shot into the first zombie's head.

She placed her gun in her holster and then headed towards the window but stopped when the zombies busted in.

"Go!" August yelled, firing shot after shot.

"I'm not leaving you!" She removed her gun and began firing with him.

"Shadae get out of here!"

"I said no!" She protested, knocking the zombie in the head with the butt of her gun.

Seeing that she wasn't going anywhere, they stood back to back fighting off as many as they could.

"House will self-destruct in t-minus one minute."

Stumbling back, August yelled frustratedly when the zombie fell on top of him trying to take a bite out of his face. He was struggling but did his best to keep the zombie from biting him.

"Tha' gun... fuck.. get my gun!" He yelled to Shadae after she pushed a zombie out the window.

Each time the zombie tried to bite his neck he sent a blow to its face.

Rushing over, she picked his gun up and fired off 2 rounds.

Pushing the dead zombie off of him, he hurried to his feet and grabbed Shadae's hand pulling her out of the room after grabbing their bag. "Next time I tell you to go, go."

"Ten seconds." The voice announced.

Picking up speed, they saw Tyrone pull the car up directly in front of the door.

Hearing something knock over behind them, they looked back and saw at least 8 more zombies coming in their direction.

"Oh fuck!"

Grabbing Shadae's arm, August pushed her in front of him while he shot rounds behind hitting whatever he could.

"Three,"

"Two,"

Right before the voice got to 1, August and Shadae dove into the back seat and Tyrone took off leaving dust and tire marks.

The house went up in flames just as he sped off onto the dirt road.

"What tha' fuck was dat shit!" August panted sitting up and closing the door. With a racing heart, he reloaded his gun while Shadae cursed and kept checking behind them.

"That damn computer or whoever it was that sent those coordinates set us up."

"I'm starting to believe lil Miss Siri is out to get us and not save us," August said as he looked Natasha and Amelia over then glanced at Shadae.

Giving a nod, she turned to Leah. "You ok?"

"Yeah, I definitely don't wanna make a stop anytime soon."

Everyone laughed but also agreed.

"We gotta find a place to crash, we can stay in the car, but we gotta stop somewhere just for a few hours," Tyrone mumbled, wiping the sweat from his forehead with a shaky hand.

"Nah, we'll just have to take turns driving because dat ain't happening," August spoke up.

"I'll take the first shift."

"I'll take tha' two to seven shift," August said.

"And I'll take over at three," Leah offered.

"I'll do the three to eight," Shadae said.

"That leaves me with the eight to two a.m," Natasha stated and they nodded.

"Drive for another hour or two then pull over at a gas station or something so we can stretch," August instructed as he got comfortable in the back.

Nodding, Tyrone put the car on autopilot and reclined his seat back while keeping an eye on the road.

Amelia laid her head on August's lap and Natasha rested hers on his arm. "I'm glad you made out." She spoke softly.

Closing his eyes, August released a soft sigh and placed his arm around her, "I almost didn't."

11:58 pm

"Where are we going?" Natasha asked glancing over at August.

"Not sure yet, just far from where we came from." He studied the scenery as they drove by.

"I can't believe this... this is not how my life was supposed to turn out." She mumbled and he chuckled.

"If someone told me I would wake up in tha' future married, have a kid, and have to fight off zombies I would've laughed right in their face."

"How do you think we even met?" She sat up.

"Maybe we'll find out as tha' days go by..." he shrugged, "we click too well for dis to just be something they put together. You can't imitate chemistry," He admitted.

Natasha blushed. "So... you like us together?"

August smirked cockily, "I guess you are a'ight."

Natasha playfully mushed him. "Whatever."

"Nah, but I do like us together... just don't... change on me." He added.

"I'll do my best to fight... just promise you won't get yourself hurt trying to be Superman." She reasoned.

August remained quiet. How could stop doing something that seemed to be in his nature? It was in his nature to protect and put his life on the line for others. He couldn't tell her he wouldn't when he knew the protector in him would.

"August?" She called and he continued to ignore her.

"I got you." He finally said.

Natasha's brows creased, "You just lied to me didn't you?"

Clearing his throat he cut the radio on. "Get some sleep ma."

"Bu-"

"Get some sleep, Natasha..." he repeated.

Nodding, she moved a little closer towards him and laid her head on his shoulder. "You don't have to be the tough guy all the time August... it's okay to be scared."

"Guarded is better."

8:35 am

"Any word on anything yet?" Natasha asked August as she sat up in bed. They found an abandoned cabin late last night and decided to crash.

"Nah, how'd you sleep?" He asked searching for his toothbrush.

"It's in the small compartment." She chuckled.

Confused for a moment, August glanced at her with his forehead wrinkled until it registered what she was referring to.

"But to answer your question, uh, I don't really feel like I slept... I've been extremely restless." She admitted.

"Yeah, me too." He replied heading inside the bathroom.

Amelia ran inside with a peanut butter jelly sandwich in her hand and chip crumbs on her chin. "Mommy! Look what I got!" She cheesed holding up her sandwich and Natasha smiled wiping her face.

"Who made that for you?"

"Titi Shadae, she said you can have some too,"

"Ok, I'll be out there. I have to pee."

Nodding, Amelia looked over at August and smiled, "Hi daddy! Bye, daddy!" She waved before running out of the room.

Chuckling, August grabbed his face wash and cut the cold water on.

"I'll wait," Natasha mumbled sitting back down.

"I'm pretty sure I seen you in every which way, come use tha' bathroom I won't look." He assured.

Laughing softly, she got up slowly and headed inside the bathroom. Placing toilet paper on the seat, she glanced over at him, "Where are we going next?"

"No clue... Tyrone and Leah think we should stop listening to tha' lil computer. What do you think?" he mumbled as he rinsed his face.

"Why do they think that?" She wondered.

"Things have been feeling like a setup lately." He answered while moving over so she could wash her hands.

"You think so? I don't feel that."

"So what you think we should do then?" He reiterated while patting his face dry.

"I don't know... I know we gotta keep moving but I'm getting tired and it's only been a week or two. I'm starting to feel like I won't be able to keep up." She shamefully admitted.

"That's just fear talking ma... you got this." He told her as he made his way out of the bathroom just as Leah walked inside the room.

"Bathroom." He said before leaving out.

"What are the plans?" Natasha asked when Leah walked inside the bathroom.

"Not sure yet, we're just trying to survive."

"As the days go on, I feel like more things come into my mind," Shadae admitted as she and August stood outside keeping an eye on things.

"Shit... I've been feeling like dat as well... hard to tell if we're supposed to trust tha' damn computers or not."

"I say we don't trust but we use 'em better than they do us," she whispered.

"I can work with dat, just until we get familiar with shit,"

"So what are we doing? Staying another night here?"

"I would rather us leave. Get rest, grab more snacks and water and some extra blankets since fall is around tha' way... we can leave like at seven." He suggested.

"Sounds like a plan to me. What's the deal with you and Tash?" She quizzed and he chuckled.

He wasn't sure if there was anything going on besides him wanting to protect her and their child. Did he feel as if something was going on? Not at all, but maybe everyone else figured otherwise. What exactly was supposed to be going on between two strangers? He still couldn't figure out the way things were created. There had to be a loophole.

"We're in tha' middle of an apocalypse and you're thinking about... sex?" He rose a brow and she snickered.

"What's wrong with her? Y'all married and I think she has a crush on you."

"I barely know her... I can't lose focus on tha' job at hand. Tha' moment I get a lil soft, shit gon pop off. I would hate to fall for her and then turn around and have to kill her if she turns." He admitted as he stared ahead. This wasn't what he had hoped his life would turn out to be.

"Do you always think the worst in things?"

"Just being realistic." He shrugged before heading back inside.

Sighing, she sat down on the steps and stared out at the empty street. She wondered if there were more people around here in hiding like them. She hoped there were...

2:15 pm, June 2039

"Can I play outside?" Amelia asked August while jumping up and down.

"Don't leave no more than ten feet from tha' door." He asserted.

Smiling, she grabbed her walkie-talkie and ran out.

"Where is she going?" Tyrone asked walking inside the living room.

"Out front."

"Psst Daddy?" Amelia's sweet voice called through the walkie.

"See," He chuckled picking up the walkie. "Daddy in, ten four." He replied and Tyrone laughed patting his shoulder as he headed into the kitchen.

"Just checking, Li Li out." She giggled and he chuckled picking up the remote and cutting the tv on.

Nearly two weeks into this sad situation and we still have no information about why this has happened. We were informed that the military indeed did send drones with mini-cameras attached to them to see if they could find any survivors. We've also been informed that most of Georgia has been affected by some sort of virus, which means if you see someone who looks to be infected, run! Do not try to fight them off, just run and try your best to stay indoors. We have been told that if you shoot for the head, they go down easier. We have some of the best doctors and scientists here in the DMV area working day and night trying to figure out what caused the outbreak and how and if it can be cured. Oh, wait a minute... we have something coming to us live via drone.

The video of the zombies heading down the street came across the screen followed by Amelia.

Oh my God, there's a little girl outside while the day creatures-

Jumping up, August rushed outside and grabbed Amelia up. "We gotta go!" He yelled rushing back inside.

Natasha and Shadae rushed out of the room with their bags already watching the news in the room.

"WE HAVE TO GO!"

"How the hell do they keep finding us?" Shadae stressed looking out the window once the car was out of view.

"I'm starting to think they can smell flesh or they asses just know who is alive and who ain't." August shook his head as he reloaded the handguns.

"Ain't no way in hell they can keep finding us like that, something is up," Leah said.

Natasha nodded in agreement. "We need to find other people... I can't keep doing this. I'm barely getting any sleep, if I start hallucinating it's over." she mumbled as she held Amelia in her arms.

"When your life is on the line, you got no choice but to fight," Tyrone told her.

"Hell yes, and I need every last one of y'all including you lil mama, to be on guard and alert every second of tha' hour," August stared at Amelia. "Y'all hear me?"

"Yeah." The ladies answered.

"Newnan, Georgia, syncing coordinates now."

The group looked towards the GPS seeing the small hologram of the lady.

"Oh bitch, Siri has an actual body?" Shadae gasped and they laughed.

"Actually Shadae, I try to come as you would envision me."

"Ok, so why are we going to Newnan?" Tyrone asked allowing the car to go into autopilot.

"There are a few survivors there, they've seen the news and are expecting you."

"Last time y'all said dat, the bitches turned into zombies." August gritted.

"Correction, the children were infected and they tried to hide them. They were of help but got caught in a sticky situation."

"Yeah a'ight." Tyrone and Shadae spoke.

"This location will do you and your family some justice for a few weeks, hopefully, help would have arrived by then." She said then disappeared.

"What y'all think? Should we trust her?" August asked.

Everyone sat quietly for a moment. "No, but let's go with it."

Hmmm? Should they trust her?
