~Azalea POV~

I growled, kicking against a small rock as frustration took over. I had been running for at least two hours. A groan escaped me as I forced my feet to keep moving, I didn't have a single clue where I was headed. I mentally slapped myself for not bringing the map with me, but it was too much of a risk.

My eyes widened as I suddenly recognized one of the points Camille had told me about. It was a huge statue of a Lycan, veins were slowly climbing up its body but it was still magnificent. I cleaned the small plate and read, 'A myth, my mate, my everything.'

I frowned, it didn't look like Lycaon in the books I had seen. Although the statue had been here for a long time, nature could've broken down some pieces. If I recall correctly I had to move west now, exhaustion was getting the better of me. Maybe if I just rested for a little while, I let myself slide down the statue, leaning against it. Just a few minutes of sleep would help me. Leto let out a disapproving growl, but I didn't care at this moment. The grass was extremely comfy, I closed my eyes and let sleep consume me.

Soft nudging startled me, I groaned as I refused to open my eyes. Once against something soft poked my cheek, following by a lick. I opened my eyes, shocked.

I came face to face with a gigantic white wolf, his blue eyes were staring right into mine. 'Who are you?'

He just tilted his head to the side, his tail wagging as he sat down on his butt. 'Well?'

He didn't respond, he kept watching me his tail only wagging faster and faster. I tried to move which earned a low growl from him, powerful enough for me to instantly sit back down. 'Who are you..?' I asked again, he pointed his large muzzle in the air and he stood, walking around the statue.

I groaned, I must be hallucinating from the lack of sleep. I forced my eyes shut once again and his muzzle poked my cheek again. 'What do you want!' A growl of frustration escaped me, his eyes darkened but quickly returned to a lighter shade. His big head motioning for me to follow it, Leto seemed completely content with the big wolf in front of us but I couldn't help but be unsure of the situation.

Nevertheless I decided to stand up, his large body pressed against my hips as he pushed me forward. Leading me through the forest, flowers I had never seen before grew around the many trees the deeper we walked into the forest. They smelled amazing, I closed my eyes as I took in the amazing scent.

A low bark startled me, my gaze darted back to the blue eyes of the wolf. He tilted his large head again, watching me intensely. 'You don't talk do you?' I sighed, I was highly positive I was hallucinating from the wolfs bane, the lack of sleep and food. Once again he tilted his head before he shook his head, his eyes had a hint of adoration in them. I sighed, 'Well alright then.'

His intense stare was making me uncomfortable, thankfully the sound of my stomach rumbling got his attention as his ears stood high, he let out a low growl before he closed his eyes, his nose high in the air before he ran off.

I frowned, yet the scent of the flowers was overwhelming and there were hundreds of them. The scent was almost soul-food for my aromatic sensibility. My eyes shot to the wolf that had returned, his low bark bringing my attention back. In his mouth a dead rabbit. My stomach rumbled in response and my mouth watered at the sight, but I wasn't going to eat that in my human state.

He dropped the rabbit in front of me, but I shook my head.  I knew I wasn't able to shift at this moment and there was no way I'd eat this rabbit just like that. 'I can't eat that, yet.'

He nudged the rabbit closer to me, 'No, I can't,' I repeated, I groaned it was like trying to communicate with a child. He growled, before he ran off again only to return seconds later his mouth full with berries. He dropped them in front of me, tilting his head waiting for my approval. I smiled, eagerly grabbing them and stuffing them in my mouth. 'Thank you.'

He barked with excitement, his tail wagging fast. I frowned as I watched him, he was larger than the usual Alpha's I knew or well have seen. His blue eyes could pierce right through your soul and his white fur seemed extremely soft, his paws were big which made sense if you had to carry the gigantic body. I quickly finished my berries as his mouth grabbed my shirt, pulling me forward.

'Where are we going?' I asked, I struggled to keep up with his large strides. Loud snarling startled me, thunderous paws were coming right at us. His eyes turned a darker shade as he growled at me, pushing me down behind a rock.

He turned towards the snarling, within seconds two Lycans stood in front of him. Snarling, baring their teeth and ready to rip him to pieces. I feared for his life but he didn't seem fazed with them. He growled, walking closer as he slowly stood on his behind legs, he grew taller and his muscles showed. He stood just as tall as the Lycans in front of him, my eyes widened as I progressed what happened.

He had shifted from a regular wolf to a Lycan.

And he looked insanely strong, he motioned for one of the Lycans to attack. A snarl escaped the Lycan before he lunged forward, in one swift move he dodged the attack before slitting the throat of the Lycan from behind. He dropped the body on the floor before turning towards the other Lycan.

This Lycan lunged a few punches, the mysterious wolf dodged them easily and in one punch he grabbed his arm, twisting it behind the back of the Lycan as he dug his claw deep inside its back, puncturing the skin at the front. He then dropped the Lycan to the floor, twisting its neck.

He growled, his eyes glowing white. I forced myself to look away, but I couldn't as he ascended back on his four legs shifting back into his wolf form. He sat down, his tail wagging softly as he, completely content, licked the blood of his paws.

'Wh-what, who are you? How did you.. you are a wolf.. but also a Lycan? How..?' I stammered, he showed me a wolfish grin and I had to admit it made me chuckle, so childish. Suddenly I saw the missing canine and involuntarily I grabbed the necklace around my neck. He closed his mouth, carefully approaching me as he gently nudged the hand around the necklace.

I opened my hand, showing him the canine that belonged to my mother. His eyes held sadness and anger, but they also showed love. 'You knew my mother?'

His large head nodded yes, 'You two were close?'

Once again a nod, but before I could press for more answers he growled. Nudging me forward, deeper into the woods. My hand wrapped around the necklace as I bit my lip. Was he like me? A Lycan stuck in a wolfs body, would he be able to help me? And why were he and my mom so close, she had a mate Lycaon, my father.

As if he could read my mind he growled loudly at the mention of Lycaon, his eyes burning with hate. Baring his canines, I took a step back. Not sure of the situation. 'You don't like my father?'

A snarl escaped his throat, his large body pressing against me. Strong enough for me to be able to feel his heartbeat through his thick skin. Shaking his large head firmly, 'Well alright, the feeling is mutual.'

He tilted his head, letting me go. Somehow he seemed content with the information of me not liking my father either. He did leave my mother alone, without saying a single word he left her to carry me all by herself during a critical time.

We then reached some gigantic rocks with pillars, most of the pillars had fallen down. Rocks and trees were surrounding the place, his tail started wagging fast as he jumped forward. Squeezing himself through a small entrance in between the pillars. His happy bark was heard in the entrance as it echoed through the woods.

'Where are we?' I asked as I carefully squeezed myself through the entrance. He was gone, I trailed my hand over the wall to guide me forward.

'Hello, where are y-,' The gigantic room cut my words as shock consumed me, we were standing in the middle of a gigantic room. Wolf statues standing around a circle in the middle, flowers from the forest grew over them. He was sitting next to a statue, proud and tall. I carefully moved forward, taking in the gorgeous Lycan wolf.

As I read the tag, 'Deianira, Queen of Lycosura. First Lycan Queen.'
