Jen chuckled as she noticed the confused look on my face, she moved over to Rose helping her clean up the water. 'Years ago, when Deianira ruled over Lycosura. The Moon Goddess fell pregnant, three boys and one daughter. Son Beowulf, Son Amaruq and Son Conan and daughter Kena.'

'Beowulf and Amaruq found their mate, Beowulf a wolf and Amaruq met Ivy, Deianira her best friend and witch. Conan, he killed his mate for just being a regular wolf. He wanted a strong mate, strong and powerful like Deianira. A Lycan.' Camille continued, laughing at the thought of Conan trying to mate her queen.

'After her rejection, Conan got furious and he promised to kill every single Lycan and create a powerful strong army himself, he would take away her first born.' Rose added. 'Deianira wasn't fazed by his words, she believed she would never meet her mate.'

'Yet she met my father? Her mate?' I sighed. Jen laughed, nodding her head. 'Yes, but he wasn't her mate. Ivy warned your mother for him, saying he was an impious and cruel king, he had tricked the Gods, his wife Cyllene and your mother. A while later she fell pregnant and he disappeared. We all think he disappeared because Conan and Cyllene started to work together.'

'What does this have to do with Kena?' I frowned.

'Love, Lycans can only be mated to other Lycans. First we thought it was a mistake, if Kena is a Lycan. Her brothers could be too, meaning Conan would have been more dangerous than we anticipated.' Jen smiled. 'Yet, Kena never showed any signs of being a Lycan. Deianira wanted to train her to find out what was going on.. but Cyllene attacked the day you were born. Ivy took you away and Kena was brought to safety. If Conan found out about Kena being your mate she wouldn't live to see the next day.'

I frowned, my father was a cruel man who got my mother pregnant before disappearing into the night. Some king, dang. We continued to clean the entire kitchen before we moved to the dining hall, it had to be spotless for the upcoming party. I was ready to leave this place, ready to find my true self. If I was able to find the place myself, 'How often did my mom disappear to this cave?'

Camille shrugged, 'Every night.'

The next three hours we cleaned every room possible, we were currently standing on the edge of the room. Watching the men get drunk and fill their stomach with food. It honestly surprised me how much alcohol they need to even remotely feel drunk. Jen had quietly explained to me that Lycans heal faster than a regular wolf, which meant they also needed more alcohol to get frunk. It smelled awful, but Camille was right they wouldn't notice if I left and even if they did they would be too drunk to chase after me. I couldn't help the anxious feeling.

'Are you okay?' Camille nudged me, I smiled nodding my head. 'You remember where to go?'

Once again I nodded my head, she smiled. It surprised me how fast Camille had changed her thoughts about me. Just a few days ago she had seen me as an useless princess, a weak girl to a strong willed woman, ready to fight for her and our kind. 'I do.'

'It's okay to be nervous. Isn't like our entire kind is in your hands.' She teased, but I knew she was being serious. Jen smacked her on the back of her head. 'Are you ready to go?'

'Are you sure everyone is here?' I asked, I didn't want to put Leto in any danger in the state we were in. Leto was exhausted fighting the wolfs bane and being away from our mate was slowly killing us as much as I hated to admit it.

'Most of them are here yeah, even if they're not. They will be wasted, too wasted to even notice. You just got to be extremely careful, keep your heartbeat and breathing under control. They will notice the slightest change.' Camille warned. I frowned, the nerves getting out of control and Rose chuckled. 'Breath Azalea, it's beating louder than the music.'

Jen and Rose disappeared into the kitchen to start the distraction. In the distance I could see Cyllene walking in. Her eyes burned with fire as she walked in, her lover following her quickly. She motioned for some guards to move over as they moved closer to the kitchen.

'I need to know what she is saying..' I spoke to Leto, but once again she didn't answer. I could feel the pain burn through me as my head throbbed with pain. I sighed, moving a little closer to the group as they spoke quietly to each other.

'What did you hear?' Cyllene her voice sounded. 'Just that she isn't attending any meetings ma'am.' A guard answered.

'Good. She is getting weaker. In a week the rogues will roam around the border again. We'll weaken her guards every single day until my little friend can challenge for the Alpha position.' Cyllene spoke, my body trembled with anger as I forced back a growl.

'Over my dead body.' Leto growled softly in the back of my head. I swiftly moved back to Camille who was handing out some beer to the other guards. 'I am ready.' I said, there was no way in hell I was letting that woman get near my mate.

Camille squealed with excitement before her eyes glazed over, 'You got two minutes to run, before the lights turn back on.'

'What?' But Camille didn't answer as the light flickered before it turned off completely. Loud growling erupted in the room as orders were thrown left and right. 'Go!' Camille whispered pushing me away. 'We'll wait for you.'

'I promise, tell Jen and Rose I will come back.'

'Go Azalea. It's dark but they can still see, it is just a distraction.' She whisper-yelled. 'Our only chance.' Leto encouraged me, so I ran through the door and went left through the many halls. It was hard to remember the exact path Jack had lead us through. 'Fuck..' I breathed. I could hear footsteps behind me as I quickly hid behind a wall. I held my breath, seconds went by when suddenly the footsteps stopped. I let out the breath I was holding. Carefully moving from my hiding spot, I frowned. The lights were still off and I was sure the two minutes had passed already.

I slowly moved across the halls when a hand on my arm pulled me hard against the wall. 'Where do you think you are going?' Don growled. Stay calm, breath I told myself.

'The basement, the lights are off and I need to flip the switch.' I lied, I wasn't even a hundred percent sure I needed to flip something but I hoped he wouldn't catch on. His breathing reeked of alcohol and he could barely walk a straight line. His eyes pierced through mine before he nodded his head, 'Ok, but your lost I'll take you.'

Great, how am I supposed to get rid of him now. Although I was thankful for him leading me to the basement, I was sure I'd know where to go when I came down there.

His hand was firm on my arm as he brought me towards the basement, 'Where is the switch thing?' He blurred as he let me go, leaning heavily against the wall. I just now saw the beer in his other hand as he took a large sip.

I roamed around the room and saw the small entrance to freedom, 'gotcha.' Excitement rushed through me as I could smell the fresh air, my eyes darted back to Don who didn't even seem to notice. His eyes were closed, trying to keep himself steady.

I took a deep breath before climbing into the small entrance, my heart was beating uncontrollably. 'Don't look back, just go!' Leto growled, I rolled my eyes as I got back on my feet. 'Glad to know you're back.' I answered, I rushed through the small halls letting the fresh air lead my nose to freedom.

Within a few minutes I fell onto the soft grass, the grass hugged my skin, the wind messing up my hair but I didn't care. The soft rain drops that fell on my skin were nothing compared to the tears that fell down my face. I had escaped, my eyes glanced back to the entrance and I knew I needed to close the door. At least buy myself some more time, I bit my lip as my eyes darted back and forth before landing on a large rock. There was no way I was able to move that, 'No pain no gain.' I mentally encouraged myself as I pushed against it.

It surprised me how easy it rolled almost near the entrance with a loud thud. In the distance I could hear loud snarling and I knew Don had noticed, without looking back I ran deep into the forest.

It was time for me to find the secret entrance to my mother's hide out. The pain in my chest flared up as I moved further away from Kena.

'Please love, hold on a little longer.' I whispered into the darkness.
