Amanda and I decided to have a sleepover at her house since we haven't had one of those in a while and it was also the only way of keeping her from going to one of those Friday night parties that she gets invited to.

We decided to watch a marathon of the walking dead because it's the only show we could agree on watching.

Amanda plops down next to me on her soft comfy bed with a big bowl of popcorn in her hands.

I think it's awesome that Amanda has a TV in her room, my Mom would never agree to that kind of nonsense.

I shove some popcorn in my mouth when Amanda plays the movie.

God, how much I missed this.

Amanda's phone keeps ringing and vibrating from time to time but she keeps hanging up and ignoring the buzzing sound.

I wonder who's so desperate to talk to her, I try my best not to ask her because I know her, if she wanted to talk about it then she would have told me about it already.

I notice that she's looking at the TV but she's not watching, she's so lost in her thoughts.

"Wanna talk about it?" I ask, startling her a bit.

"Huh? Want some more popcorn?" She checks the bowl that is already filled with popcorn.

Oh my God, how did I not notice this sooner?

She's broken.

"Amanda, is there something that you're not telling me?" I sit up, looking into her eyes but she looks down at her hands.

"Nothing." she lies, her voice starting to sound brittle.

I pick up the remote control to pause the show.

"Look at me." I lift her chin up, as soon as her eyes meet mine she starts crying.

I hug her tightly whilst patting her back.

"It hurts Allie, it hurts so fucking much." she says through her sobbing.

"What hurts? Is it your head? Your stomach? Your leg? OH my God, cramps?" I pull away from her, checking each part of her body.

"No, it's my heart, my heart hurts so bad." her voice is barely audible.

"Why? Did something happen with your parents? Are they getting a divorce or something?" I ask.

From what I know, Amanda's parents love each other, infact, they went on a romantic dinner date tonight and they said they won't be back until late.

"No Allie, my parents are fine but I have to tell you something that will probably shock you and make you hate me for about two hours." She wipes her tears away and I laugh lightly at the last part of her sentence.

I don't think anything she says is gonna make me hate her.

Her phone starts ringing, she hangs up yet again. I have a feeling that whatever she has to say has got something to do with those calls.

"Tell me." I give her my full attention.

She takes a deep breath, shifting in her seat.

"Okay I'll start from the beginning in order to make you understand, it started last year at Lilian's sixteenth birthday party-"

"Wait, Lilian? Jason's sister?" I ask for confirmation.

"Yes that Lilian." She nods yes, "she personally invited me to her party because she thought I was 'cool' so I went to the party and it was packed, I remember Sofia and Jason having a huge fight that night, Sofia left the party and Jason went for a swim in their pool, I don't know why but I decided to accompany him. We talked for like three hours straight and I learned that I liked him and that we had a lot in common and I couldn't help but fall for him, at first we were just making out and flirting around but then it got serious and we started dating, turns out that was the dumbest thing I've ever done in my life and I regret it every day." she explains to me in tears.

"Then what happened?" I can't help but feel like there's more to this story.

"Then, one of his friends told me the truth behind all those sweet moments we had together, he said Jason was using me to make Sofia jealous." her voice cracks.

If she didn't love Jason this much, I would probably be telling her 'I told you so' but I won't because its clear that she's in it too deep.

"Do you hate me?" She asks, with tears painted on her cheeks.

"No, look, I don't know much about love but my Dad used to tell me a few things about it, he once said that loving someone is never a crime and that sometimes we don't choose who we fall in love with." I wipe her tears away with my thumbs.

For some reason, what I said to her made her cry even harder.

I do not see myself crying over a guy like this any time soon.

"You are such a good friend." she hugs me and whispers in my ear, we are interrupted by the irritating sound of her phone.

"Is that him?" I ask, pulling away from her, she nods yes.

"He's outside with Nick, he says he wants to talk to me but I don't think I'm ready." she shakes her head in disapproval.

What is so scary about talking to someone who you have been doing (stuff I do not want to think about) with for a months.

I guess I'll never know since I plan on being single until at least after college.

I stand up, helping Amanda up as well.

"Your name is Amanda Sinclair." I place my hands on both of her shoulders, "and you're the baddest chick I know, you never hide yourself inside your room from stupid horny teenage boys, you give them a piece of your cake which is very delicious and show him what he's missing out on." I give her what seems to be an advice.

She stares at me blankly without saying anything then her face lights up like she just hit jackpot.

"You're right, I'm gonna go down there and give that son of bitch a piece of my cake!" She shouts.

"Yeah!" I shout back.

"But only if you come down there with me and be my advisor." she holds my hand and tries to walk to the door.

I can't go out there and face those two after what happened earlier today.

I yank her back.

"I've already advised you my strong soldier, going there with me will not be necessary and you should probably change." I look at the silky pajama shorts that Amanda made us put on because she thinks that my pajamas are too nineteen eighty's.

"Trust me, sweetheart, boys love seeing girls in pajama shorts." she speaks from her 'experience.'

I don't get it, is she going to give him a piece of her mind or a piece of her body?

"And if you're not coming with me then I'm not going." she sits back down on her bed, reaching for the remote.

C'mon Allison, you're just from giving her that feminine advice but look at you being all scared of those twarts yourself.

I snatch the remote out of her hands.

"Okay, fine, I'll go with you." I say in a lazy tone.

"That's my girl." she grins.

Amanda and I hear our own feet clamping against the wooden stairs because of how quiet the house is at the moment, she unlocks the door and we step outside, it's very chilly outside.

Jason and Nick are parked on the street, they are both leaning their backs against the car and exchanging a cigarette.

"I'll be right here if you need me." I assure her and she responds with a warm smile.

She starts walking towards the car, Nick starts walking towards me.

Damnit.

Nick and Amanda exchange a few words that I don't quite catch as they pass by each other.

"Well well, if it isn't little Miss goody two shoes." he comes up to me, lifting a cigarette to his lips, pulling the smoke inhaling it and then exhaling it.

The presence of smoke always makes me wanna run away.

"If it isn't little Mr... douche pants." It didn't come out the same way it sounded in my head, I have goosebumps all over my body because of the cold, I hug my own body tighter.

Jason and Amanda are in Nick's car, well they look like they're having a very mature talk.

I feel Nick's eyes on me so I snap my head to look at him, he's already looking at me.

"Can you please not look at me." I ask rudely, he smirks, moving to stand closer to me.

He reeks of alcohol mixed with smoke mixed with.. him? he's about to lift that cigarette to his lips again but I quickly snatch it from his fingers and throw it into a bush.

"What the fuck did you do that for?" He whines, looking at the bush then at me.

I just saved your life dumb dumb.

"You're welcome." I give him a fake smile.

"That weed was very expensive." he points at the bush.

Oh, it was weed. Even worse.

"I don't care." I shake my head, soothing my arms. "Weed will damage your brain cells." I whisper while looking at his car, there's something about looking into his eyes that I don't like.

"Are you cold?" He asks in a raspy voice.

"No, I'm just pretending to be cold." I say sarcastically rolling my eyes.

He laughs amusingly like I said something funny.

"She was always sarcastic, just like you." he takes off his leather jacket and hangs it around my shoulders.

If I wasn't that cold, I'd totally decline this gesture.

"Who was?" I'm lost by his words.

"Kayla." It comes out as a whisper and he said it like the name scared him.

Probably an ex girlfriend, so he's comparing me to his ex girlfriend? Classic.

"Get over her, moron, I'm certain she got over you." I hug the warm jacket tighter to my body.

He looks down, slightly biting his lower lip. He looks at me through those hooded blue eyes and I fail to look away so we just stare at each other.

"C'mon, Amanda, I said I was sorry." Jason shouts after Amanda.

She's literally running away from him and coming towards the house.

"Come talk to me when you're not wasted, asshole!" she says to him before walking inside the house and shutting the door.

Nick stifles a laugh, I smile at how it sounded.

"But seriously, bro, whose idea was it to come here all wasted?" Nick asks Jason.

"Yours, it was your idea you stupid fuck." Jason sounds really angry, he starts going back to the car.

"Oh yeah it was but hey don't be angry at me!" Nick shouts after him, flying his hands in the air, "Oh well, shit happens." he looks down at me and smiles.

He was right, he is really taller than me.

"Goodnight, princess." he leans in and tries to kiss my cheek but I step backwards.

"What are you doing?" I hold him back with my hand, I can feel his heart beating against his chest, so calm, so alive.

He looks down at my hand, "You just can't keep your hands off of me, can you?" He says, I slide my hand off his chest. He sucks in a breath.

"Says the guy who just wanted to kiss me." I respond.

"Sorry, my bad." he raises both his hands in the air like he's surrendering.

I watch him as he walks down the steps, he turns around, meeting my eyes again and starts walking backwards.

"One day, Allison Parker, one day." he says the weirdest thing.

One day what? Douchebag.

He jogs to his car before I have the chance to ask him, gets in and they drive off, causing the engine to make noise like the ruthless drunk teenagers that they are.

Crap he left his jacket, it smells like him, now I smell like him.

I head inside the house to check on Amanda, I find her sitting in the living room.

"Amanda, what happened? Did he hurt you, did he say something-"

"Boys are such assholes." she starts laughing, clutching her stomach in the process.

I end up joining her.
