"Deku! Are you in there? Open up!" I sighed and placed a hand on my hip, my other hand holding a large trash bag. It was my duty to go around and collect everyone's trash, and after this, I had to clean the windows and after that a million other chores... I mentally groaned at the thought of all the cleaning I had to do.

I was about to turn around and leave before he finally swung his door open, sweat dripping from his skin as he panted. "Sorry (Y/N), I kind of got caught up working out. I hope you weren't waiting too long!" He turned around and picked up his trash bin then handed it to me which I dumped the contents in the large bag.

"It's alright. Anyways, Bakugo was asking about you saying something about the dorms needing to be dusted." Deku gasped before slipping on his shoes.

"I was supposed to dust the windows today! Kacchans gonna kill me!" I chuckled and tied up the bag, walking in the opposite direction to throw it in the dumpster outside.

I pinched my nose as the putrid smell of the dumpster wafted in my face, making me throw the bag in as fast as I could. I dusted my hands off and stepped inside. The lounge area was occupied by one person who stood with clenched fists as he watched the TV.

"Hey Todoroki, what are you doing?" Clasping my hands behind my back I stood beside him and viewed the screen. An interview with the new number 1 hero, Endeavour.

When Todoroki didn't respond, I continued. "He's your dad, right?" A slight nod was my response. "It must be pretty cool having the number 1 hero as your dad." His jaw clenched and his fists tightened.

"It's not. Not him, anyway." I gazed worriedly at Todoroki. Now that I thought about it he never mentioned his parents or talked about Endeavour, especially since he's the number 1 hero now.

"Todoroki... can I ask you a question?" He relaxed his face before looking at me with a slight smile, then nodded.

"How did you get that scar?"

His smile faltered. Regret ate at me and I mentally slapped myself for asking such a personal question. "I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked that-"

"It's okay. I feel comfortable around you anyways." He crossed his arms and looked at his feet. "My father is someone I despise. When I was five, he forced a harsh training plan on me which my mother tried to stop, and when she interfered with my fathers' plans she was the one to get hurt."

He raised his left hand and stared at it. "When my mother was at her breaking point she couldn't stand the sight of my left side as it reminded her of him, and poured a kettle of boiling water over my face, leaving this scar. My father sent her to a mental hospital for what she did to me, and I don't and never will blame her for what she did. It's all Endeavours doing." His eyes burned with anger every time he mentioned his father and he clenched his fists again.

I thought over what he said and came to the conclusion that he needed a hug. I stood in front of him and slid my arms around him. "What are you doing?"

I let out a breathy chuckle. "I figured you needed a hug. I'm glad you told me this, Todoroki. It feels nice to open up about things you keep bottled inside, doesn't it?" He nodded and hesitantly hugged me back and soon eased up in my arms.

We stayed like that for a few moments before I pulled away, a new thought in mind. "Is that why you never use your left side?" He nodded again.

"It always reminded me of my old man, but I started using it again because Midoriya helped me by showing me that it's my Quirk and not my fathers." The corners of his mouth lifted as he thought about Deku.

"I guess what he said back at the sports festival made sense now. 'It's your Quirk, not his.' He's right about that, Todoroki. I'm probably not the best person to tell you this but your Quirk is something that makes you unique and special, and Deku is right; it really is your Quirk, not his. Your Quirk is you." He averted his eyes as he thought over what I said before closing them.

"(Y/N), thank you. I feel... nice after talking with you." I gave him a toothy smile.

"I'm just glad I know more about you, Todoroki! And if you feel like you need someone to talk to, I'm always here!" His eyes glinted for a moment before he slipped his hands in his pockets and turned his back towards me.

"Then can I tell you about something else?" I tilted my head to the side.

"Of course you can." He took a deep breath and looked over his shoulder. "I like you a lot. Just thought you should know." He broke his eye contact with me quickly, waiting for my response.

I chuckled nervously. "I mean, I like you too Todoroki. We're good friends, after all." All I could do was stare at the back of his head, his white and red hair mixing when he shook his head.

"'The act of caring and giving to someone else...having someone's best interest and well-being as a priority in your life.'" Now I just grew even more confused.

"Todoroki, what are you saying?" I raised my hands to my chest and waiting for him to say something else.

"I read it in a book. It's the definition of love." He spun around, his eyes softer and warmer, his hair swishing around his face. "I love you, (Y/N)."

I completely froze to the spot, and so did my heart as it felt like Todoroki froze it. I half expected the little voice from the other night to come and give me advice, but it never came. My legs felt weak and I finally realized I was blurting and stuttering random things, trying to comprehend what he just said.

His shoulders dropped as I didn't give him the reaction that he wanted. "Do you not like me?"

I shook my head vigorously and waved a hand for reassurance. "I-I do! I do, it's just that I need some-some time. Yeah, I just need to think. I like you too, Todoroki." I tried smiling but my head felt light, and I was about to fall over before Todoroki supported me and placed a hand on my forehead.

"Are you okay? Do you have a fever?" That made my feelings and emotions go off the charts, and I started seeing black spots dot my vision. Blinking hard, I shook my head and told him I was fine.

"I'll take you to your room." It felt like I got shot in the heart as he gently took me by the arm and to my room. He opened the door for me and led me to my bed where I started sweating as I laid down. He raised the covers over me and tucked me in. After dying inside from all of my emotions he nodded goodbye and shut the door.
