"Ugh too simple," I groaned, crumpling the spare sheet of paper with a bad sketch of a costume and throwing it in the trash can.

I sighed and tilted my head back, hands on the back of my neck, while my foot rocked the grey swivel chair I sat on. The U.A. application form came in yesterday where I had to describe and draw my costume, but nothing suitable for my taste came to mind.

The conversation I had with my mom the other day replayed in my head, and I frowned. Who was my father? I had so many questions with so little answers. I didn't want to upset my mom with questions about my dad since she seemed pretty upset when we began talking about him.

Shaking my head to clear my thoughts, I got up, walked out of my room, and went downstairs where I slipped on my shoes and headed outside, a cool breeze greeted me and ruffled my (H/C) hair.

It was dusk and the birds chattering slowly died as the grey clouds and sky darkened by the minute. 15 minutes passed and I ended up deep into the city, where the streets were still busy with running vehicles, along with the occasional pedestrian passing by me. By now, the darkness swallowed up any light that was once there and I looked up.  A drop of water hit me, and soon another. It had started raining. Placing my hands in the pockets of my grey sweater, I walked within the city with my head hung low, not paying attention to where I was going. I began blocking out the sounds of chatter and cars, only focusing on the sound of my footsteps and the sound of water hitting the concrete.

Then, my thoughts took over.

'What if I did have a Quirk?'

'What kind of Quirk would it be?'

'Am I the only person who is Quirkless but wants to be a hero?"

'What if I don't succeed in U.A.?'

'Who's my father?'

'What-'

"Gah!"  I was snapped out of my thoughts and found myself on the ground, my tailbone buzzing with pain. I bumped into someone. The other person was on the ground, rubbing their head from the impact. Gritting my teeth, I got to my feet and stretched out my hand.

"I'm so sorry, I should've paid attention to where I was going. Are you alright?" The man took my hand and stood up.

"It's fine, it happens to me all the time!" The man chuckled, pushing back his curly green hair. I smiled and looked at the ground where a notebook labeled' Hero Analysis No.12' laid, getting soaked from the rain. I gasped and picked it up.

"Crap..." I muttered, "Is this yours?" I asked, holding it out to him.

"Ah, m-must've fallen when I bumped i-into you!" He stammered, quickly taking it away from my hand and placed it in his bag. He seemed to be embarrassed, and I chuckled.

"Sorry but, I couldn't help but notice the title of your notebook. Do you... Do you want to be a hero too?" I questioned, suddenly curious of the stranger.

"I- I do. It's my dream to become a hero!" He said, excitement increasing in his voice.

"Really? Me too! I'm already recommended into U.A. High school, and from there I'm gonna-" My rambling was interrupted by the other person.

"Hold on, you're recommended to U.A. High school?!" I gulped.

"Uh yeah, I-I am! Are you?" I said, blushing slightly. I silently thanked the darkness.

"I'm going to take the entrance exam," he said, rubbing the back of his head.

"That's pretty cool! What's your Quirk?"

"M-my Quirk? Well, I, uh..." The phone in my pocket interrupted our conversation.

"Sorry, please excuse me" I held the phone to my ear.

"WHERE ARE YOU!?" I held the phone away from my ear, cringing.

'That's some hardcore ear rape'

"S-sorry mum, I forgot to tell you I'm out walking..."

"I WANT YOU HOME NOW!" The phone beeped, indicating she hung up. I sighed, putting away my phone and smiling at my new friend.

"Sorry about that, my mom can be louder than an elephant on the phone." I smiled when the boy before me laughed. Something about this boy sparked an interest in me.

"Since we're going be going to the same school, assuming I pass the exam, can- can I get your n-number?

"Of course! Say, you're a pretty cool person, uh... I didn't catch your name" he giggled,

"It's Izuku Midoriya!"
