You mindlessly stared at the sky through the balcony of your shared apartment with Jungkook. It had been two months since you two took your relationship a step ahead, hence moving in together.

It was blissful, awfully blissful to live in with your soulmate. Everything seemed to be going so well that sometimes it itched in the back of your mind, a constant check that maybe it was the calm before the storm because frankly life had never been good to you and it was safe to include Jungkook as well.

What bothering you now was Hoseok and Sasha's engagement. Well to make it straight and clear Hoseok had proposed Sasha last month and the engagement was set to next week.

Wonderful wasn't it.

It was except for the fact that you would be meeting Jungkook's mother for the very first time well technically in this life.

Your trail of thoughts was disrupted by a sudden drape of a shawl over your shoulders and a warm radiance from behind.

A grin broke on your lips as you tilted your head out of habit and Jungkook nuzzled his nose in the slot to press a soft peck on your neck.

"It's breezy outside baby", he spoke softly, "be careful to not catch cold."

"How did the meeting go?", you asked leaning in back giving him the access to wrap his arms around your waist.

"They're willing to give me two slots for the year-end exhibition.", he explained, "It was a plausible deal for both parties so we signed the contract."

"Congratulations on another exhibition.", you spun around to face him and placed a kiss on his nose.

"Now tell me what's bothering you?", Jungkook asked and you wondered when ever was your partner not attentive specially if that concerned you.

"Did you eat?", you asked in hopes of diverting the subject, "I made chicken soup, would like to have some?"

"No and yes.", he answered your questions and asked you another one, "It is because of my mom?"

Your mouth dried instantly, your gaze putting off from his curious ones.

"We are gonna get through it baby. I promise.", Jungkook's determination caused a frail ache in your heart and you could only pray for history to not repeat  itself.

"I'm sorry", you whispered out in guilt, "I don't wanna think about all this. I don't doubt you Jungkook. But I can't help on being anxious."

"You shouldn't be the one apologizing", his hands found your face, "To be honest, I'm going by Joshua's words. I believed it when he said we only had good days ahead of us."

"Hopefully."

"Who's idea it was to have the engagement party here?", Ena squinted her pointing eyes across the room.

"Why? Do you have a problem?", you countered back.

Her eyes lit up instantly, as she clasped her hands, "This place is amazing, I'm loving it!"

"Thanks, I recommended it", you said returning a proud smile.

"You'll be meeting her today right?", Yoongi asked with a hint of worry in his voice, "Alert me if you need her gone from this place. Me & Jimin will gladly do the needful", and the next moment he was joking.

"Sure Sure", You laughed, "That reminds me, I need to talk to Jungkook."

Taking a turn you walked through the hall, eyes searching for your boyfriend when you finally spotted him, standing round the corner, hands crossed over chest, eyes already staring back at you with a teasing smile on his lips.

"Can't stay away from me baby?", he said pulling you by your arm as soon as you came in his vicinity.

Rolling eyes you said, "I wanted to tell you something."

"Should I be scared?"

You shook head, "But it will hurt you."

Jungkook upped his chin, urging you to carry on.

"You're gonna officially introduce me to your mother today. Firstly, in previous life my note with her ended in bad terms. I'm still mad about the fate we met, she was mostly responsible for that. Anyways, in this life, she doesn't like me already and if she even remotely insults me, Sasha or any of our friends, I won't let her get away with it.", you held his hands firmly, "If that situation comes, it'll definitely hurt you but I would expect you to not interfere with my part of speech. I just wanted to give you a heads up."

Jungkook exhaled sharply, "I get it Y/N.", he bent to peck your forehead, "I hope that situation doesn't occur but if it happens, I'll be doing what I would feel to be the right thing to do."

You smiled, "I'll go to Sasha, call me if you need me."

"I need you baby", Jungkook inched closer and whispered in your ear, "I want to feel you right now."

You pushed him, hitting his chest, "We're fucking like rabbits yet you're insatiable."

"You teased the hell out of me roaming around the apartment in that tight pretty lingerie and didn't let me touch you.", he complained with big accusing eyes, "Are you going to deny me again? We can pull a quickie, I promise we'll be back before anyone notices--"

You held you palm flat against his mouth, "It's your brother's engagement Mr. Quickie. I think you have a lot else to do, occupy your mind with something else."

He removed your hand and smirked, "You're so in bad after we get out from here. You'll loose the count of orgasms, I'm gonna deny you.", his gaze turned darker as he continued, "I won't let you cum even if you beg for it. And walking? Don't even think of it after tonight."

You're thighs clenched as now the thoughts in your mind ran wild.

"Already loosing it baby?", Jungkook mocked you as if he was reading your mind, "It's gonna be interesting.", and walked away.

You and Sasha were cracking up at some lame joke Ena threw when Jungkook came in asking you to accompany him.

As soon as you walked out of the door, you asked, "Are you taking me to your mom?"

"Yeah.", Jungkook simply answered.

Going out of the passage your eyes landed on her. The empress, Jungkook's mother in both lives and the bane of your existence.

You stand in front of her, eye to eye, unwavering while she threw you a condescending look.

"Mom, this is Y/N.", he gestured his hands at you and reversed it, "Y/N, this is mom."

There was an awkward atmosphere created as none of you spoke, least intersted to initiate a conversation.

You could see the corner her lips curve into a smirk and instantly knew you were gonna hear something unpleasant soon.

"So Y/N, I heard you are friends with Sasha. Birds of a feature really flock together."

Rather than her words, her tone irked you more. Not loosing your cool, you smiled and spoke calmly, "I didn't expect you to be a good judge of character but you took me by surprise there. Yes, we're practically sisters and I can guarantee you Sasha is the best your elder son could deserve. Hoseok is a really descent guy that's why you are seeing this engagement happening otherwise I wouldn't allow someone who's lesser than Sash. I hope you understand what I mean. I'll always stand as a shield if she faces slightest mistreatment."

You got an odd satisfaction seeing her face morphing into distaste.

Jungkook stood rooted in his position, almost sweating seeing the exchange between his girlfriend and his mother.

"You're an orphan right? Also a college dropout. You're words doesn't surprise me either.", she suddenly spoke and Jungkook felt his heart constrict.

"Mom, have you really -", you held his arm stopping him.

"I'm sure, Hoseok and Jungkook are pretty much same even with having a parent present.", you gaze ignited in fire as you made up your mind to spit venom, "Both of my parents wanted to see me, there only daughter, happy. Clearly you don't. I will love, admire and respect my parents till the day I live. Certainly both of your sons don't and won't if you keep this up. You need to question your conscience that what you're actually gaining other then hurting your children and having all of your mental peace being compromised."

You saw her freeze in spot as if you had struck a chord within her. She fisted her hands and looked at you as if she would burn you down with her gaze alone.

"Have you ever thought that whatever you have gone through in this life maybe because you deserve all it?"

You took a deep breathe and looked at Jungkook with teary eyes, "I'm sorry."

With that you walked out of the venue.
