*NEW CHAPTER! YEAYYY!!!!*

Ian :

PRANGGG!!!!!

I could hear the sound of glass breaks.

Leah.

I started to furiously trying to open the door with all worst scenarios playing at the back of my head especially my newest enemy, it can’t be! The door can’t be opened, so I kicked it several times, I kicked it as strong as I could.

Leah!

Hold on baby!

The door went flying. I noticed the hinge already broke due to my powerful kick. I went into the house frantically searching for her. That is when I froze on the spot, where I saw her laying down on the kitchen floor unconscious near the shattered glass. I ran towards her, I kneeled down and took her body in my arms while trying to shake her in attempt to make her wake up again. She didn’t respond so I put my shaky index near her nose.

No breath.

----------------------------

4 hours later…………

She looks fragile in her sleep. Her shiny hair, her pointy nose and her smooth pale skin, all looks so beautiful like a piece of fragile glass. She sleeps so peacefully but my heart hurts so badly. The only time I saw pale faces was in my parent’s funeral, even all the people I've killed I don’t spare the smallest tiniest glances for them, but I never thought I would see it on the woman who sleeps soundly in front of me right now. It scared the hell out of me, like someone just ripped my heart out forcefully. I thought I lost her.
I am waiting at my own private clinic for my specialist to come back with the report after they treated her for hours. I looked at Liam who’s holding her hand right now, his eyes were red and puffy same with Josh who’s seated beside him, both just sat there looking at her while David standing at the end of the bed but his eyes fixed at the picture on the wall. He looks so calm yet his eyes filled with anger. It has been an hour since the operation; we still sat in silence as we wait for the report.

The sound of the door’s creaked open signaling us that the doctor has arrived. He’s my family’s doctor who is trusted by my grandfather to take care of us, Dr Higgins, the chief of all specialists in this building, even with his grey hair, he’s still the best in this country. He then sat on the couch with sheets of papers in his hands, I got up from my seat to sit on the couch in front of him, and the boys just watched both of us from their place. He put those papers on the table before leaned on the couch looking at me with deadpan serious face. He seems to be contemplated with something but then I think he sorted out his doubt after that by judging the determine look on his wrinkled eyes.

“Ian.” He said my real name, which means this is serious matter because if not, he would’ve called me ‘kiddo’, the nickname he gave me since I was a small kid.

“I have good and bad news, which one first?” he asked.

“Good.”

“Good news is, the girl’s fine.” Thank God. We all let out sigh of relief.

“Bad news is, 10 minutes late, we would have not been able to save her.” My breath just knocked out, I even heard their gasps. His words slice through our relief state.

“W-wha-what is that mean?” Liam stuttered. He’s the one who breaks the silence around us even I can’t seem to speak anything despite I have lots to ask.

The doctor averts his eyes from me to the three of them.

“That means your sister almost died.”

We were stunned but I couldn’t let this affect me. I keep on my calm façade.

“Please continue doctor.” I said it with low voice after I found a little strength to speak.

“She suffers from lack of blood pressure, because her pulse was so weak when you brought her here to the point it almost stop beating and also we found out that she’s OD with pills.” We even get more surprised by this. I didn’t know she ate those things.

“But my sister is healthy, she never suffers from that. I don’t even notice any pills.” Liam explained.

“This may sound impossible but I think she’s poisoned.” This time the doctor just dropped nuclear on us. How come poison have to do with her illness?

My gripped on the couch gets tighter and when I glance to the three of them, their hands already balled in fist. Steady Ian.

“I made a checkup on her blood and I found foreign substances in it. I already checked our files; it is the rare type of poison that can be found only a few places in the world. The name is ‘Capri’; it will sneak into the body unknowingly and slowly evolve inside the host’s system. It causes the heart pace to slow down and eventually stop beating, dizziness and fatigue are the symptoms, we usually called this as low blood pressure but the difference is, Capri could cause fatal and even worse the host will survive but paralyze if it is exposed in large dose but shorter exposure. In her case, she would not be paralyze because the dose was little thankfully but longer exposure unfortunately, added that OD so it’s almost cause her death. Her liver too almost damage because of that OD, she’s just lucky we could save it before it’s too late.”

“She went to many doctors before but none of them said anything about this. I thought it was simple, I didn’t know this will become this bad. She even said that she was fine.’ Josh exclaimed after a few moment of silence.

“It’s because we need an advance tech to identify it, random doctor couldn’t do it.” Dr Higgins answered it calmly.

“How does this ‘Capri’ managed to get into her?” this time David ask after being silent for a while.

“Air-borne. It’s the easiest way to do.” He answered.

“You mean all this time unknowingly we could’ve lost her anytime?” The doctor nodded.

Liam’s question just made us realized that we are on the verge of losing her just like that. We’re being careless. We are too busy handle our business to notice her changes.
We went on silent again. I need to do something.

“David and Josh, bring the men to inspect the house and the clinic. Liam, I need you to look out for your sister while we're gone, and doctor, please help her.” All of them nodded in understanding.

All of them were gone leaving only me, Liam and Leah. I look at her sleeping face  before I need to go to somewhere.

“I’m scared Ian, do I need to tell my dad?” Liam asked me as he couldn’t decide what to do. He looks so scared and confused.

“You do what you believe is right.” That is the only thing I could say to him. For the first time I don't know how to handle things.

“She would hate me if I made our dad worried sick.” He said it with a smile that not reached his face.

“I promise you, we will find the person behind this.” I look at him determinedly, I failed her but still they trust me not even blame me. I will search whoever dares to hurt my girl and I’ll kill them. I’ll burn them down!

----------------------

“I’m sorry…so sorry,” She cried for almost 30 minutes after I told her about Leah. I still didn’t get the answer I need because I wait for Carla to calm down but I think this will take more time than I expected.
I’m now currently in the clinic interrogating Leah’s assistant while David searching around in their house.

“I- I swear I didn’t know sh-she’s poisoned. I- I thought it’s only migraine or vertigo, I- I saw her took those pills but I can’t stop her,” she saw her ate the pills all this time, that’s just make me more angry at myself. “She said she needs those to ease her headache, I said she needs to stop but she-she didn’t listen, I’m sorry, I am truly sorry because I failed to notice. I failed to stop her before it's too late.” Me too Carla, it’s the same for us.

I stood up from my seat to sit beside her, I shook her shoulders forcing her to focus on the issue. I need to stop her from rambling even further. “Carla, I need you to calm down, this is not about the OD, it’s about the poison. I need you to tell me anything that you suspect.” I have to raise my voice a bit so she could listen to me. Her body went rigid for a moment and then after that, she relaxed. She stopped crying but still sobbing, she then wipes her tears with the back of her hand. She went silent, maybe trying to remember anything suspicious.

“Everything’s seems normal I think.” She said after a while.

“Try to think more, did she always sniff or smell something, maybe addicted to it?” I asked her. Her face showing that she’s trying to think something

“Oh my God!” suddenly her eyes went wide and her mouth hanging open.

“What Carla? Tell me.” I panicked, she must be remembering something.

“I don’t think it is but…” she’s now mumbling to herself, doubting something that I don’t know.

“Fuck! Just tell me now!” I begin to lose my patience, eager to know what it is. I don’t care if I just yelled at her but she herself doesn’t care too.

“The flower..” she trailed off.

“What flower?” I’m confused.

Suddenly she gets up from her seat, I followed her. Immediately she went to Leah’s office and she open the door before she went static. I stood behind her but my eyes fixed on the white roses on the cabinet just like her eyes did. I took out my phone before dialing someone.

“I think I found it.”

David and few of my men arrived few minutes after I told Carla who was reluctant to go home and rest. I don’t want her to ask about David and my men. They took away the flowers, so my specialist could examine it. Now I’m sitting on the chair, David standing in front of me at Leah’s door watching the men cleans her office. Suddenly his cellphone rings, he took out the phone and talk to someone for a few minutes while I just sat there watching him. He cut the call and then put the phone inside his pocket before turn around to face me. His face was grim when he walks towards me, “they just informed me, confirming that the flower indeed the cause”.

I look down and took a deep breath to calm down my rage, how clever. I barely contained my fury so I stand up before slowly walk towards the counter where I saw a telephone. I grabbed it before throwing it roughly towards the wall cause it to breaks then I step on it furiously until it crushes. I managed to vent my anger towards the innocent phone but still it’s not enough. I’m panting for air, my face red with fury and full with sweats, while David just stood there silently watching me.

“I want this clinic to operate by tomorrow, find any fucking vet and assistant to work here,” David nodded in understanding.

“Call Liam and Josh, we need to kill someone.”
