Austin's POV

My eyes fly open, only to meet darkness.

I can feel cold metal chains around my wrists and ankles and my back is pressed against a cold slab of metal that is standing upright. I can only assume that it is metal, because of the temperature, but I can't see a thing.

"Amanda?" I whisper, hoping to hear her voice. I could only imagine the kind of things this lady would do to an innocent girl.

"Austin." A sickly sweet voice sings.

A single light above me switches on, making me feel like I'm in some kind of horror movie. Maybe this really is a nightmare?

A lady with long red hair and a scar going down her right cheek walks towards me, into the light.

It's her.

"You really thought it was over?" sshe asks, smiling and tilting her head to the side.

"Where is she, you bitch?" I scream, spitting on her face. She ruined my life and if I wasn't in chains, I would tear her to pieces.

Not just because of what she did to me, but because she let random men touch my girlfriend.

"Now, that is no way to talk to me." She wipes the spit off her face and then steps closer to me, harshly but slowly raking her long nails across my cheek.

I feel the sting but it doesn't bother me. I just need to know where Amanda is. I need to know that she is okay.

"I've had worse," I say angrily, trying to pretend that I am not as scared as I feel.

"You want worse? Fine. "

She steps back into the darkness, and I stay still, listening to the clicking of her heels against the floor.

Suddenly, all the lights turn on and I squint at the brightness. My eyes scan the room, hoping to find out what the bitch might do.

My heart stops and everything around me seems to slow down as my eyes go wide in shock.

Amanda's arms are dangling from chains that are connected to the roof. Her messy brown hair is covering her face and she is still in her underwear.

There is blood around her wrists, where she hangs, hardly able to touch the floor.

"Amanda?" I say, hoping she'd look up. She's not moving at all.

The red head bitch laughs, "You think I'd let her stay conscious? You should have heard her crying. What an annoying thing, I'd actually be doing you a favor when I kill her." She walks up to Amanda and lifts her head up, causing Amanda's hair to move to the side of her face.

There is a deep cut on her right cheek long scratch marks on her neck and arms. "What did you do to her?" I whisper.

"I warned you that when you fell in love, I would hurt the person you fell in love with. I never break my promises, sweetheart," she says, whipping her hand across Amanda's face.

I shut my eyes and at the same time, I hear Amanda cry out in pain.

"Austin?" Amanda says, her voice hoarse. This is my fault. This is all my fault. I look up at Amanda and my heart clenches.

I did this to her.

"Please let her go. I'll do anything,"  I beg. I would go through my childhood all over again if it meant she would let Amanda go.

Nobody deserves to be here. I can't let anything happen to Amanda.

The red head bitch walks up to me, laughing as she does so. I stare at the floor, already defeated. I know that there is nothing that I can do but beg. This is the basement that I was locked in for four years, I have tried everything but obeying.

How could I do what she told me? Especially after all the things she did to me. I shut my eyes, trying not to remember.

The way she used blades to cut open my skin because she found it amusing. The way she would sing lullabies as she used me as her little toy.

"I have your little whore in chains. I can do anything to her. You'll do anything for me either way," she says.

I don't reply. We both know it's true. I would do anything as long as she doesn't touch Amanda.

"What do you want?" I scream. A high pitched laugh fills the air.

She turns around and walks back to Amanda. She picks up a knife and then cuts Amanda down the arm.

Amanda shuts her eyes and a tear rolls down her cheek as she tries to hold back any sound.

"Please!" I scream, shaking at the chains to try and get out.

Amanda opens her eyes, immediately finding mine. The pain in her eyes is clear, and I quickly look away.

I'm so useless. I can't do anything to help her and I hate it.

There is a loud bang, and my eyes fly open again. Terror and panicked flows over my whole body as I search Amanda's body, praying that I don't find blood.

The red head bitch falls to the ground with a loud thud, and James walks into the room with a gun in his hand.

"James?" I whisper.

Relief fills my whole body. She's dead and Amanda's alive.

"I went to your house to say happy birthday and saw four guys taking you somewhere, so I followed you guys here," he explains, dropping the gun and taking the keys off the wall to unlock the chains on my arms and legs. "It was a lot harder to find this room than I thought. All I could hear was screaming."

"Thank you," I whisper, taking the keys from James and running to Amanda.

I unlock her chains, holding my one arm around her waist so she doesn't fall. Her arms fall to her side and her head falls onto my shoulder.

"Call the ambulance," I say to James. I hold Amanda's body closer to mine, closing my eyes.

I hurt her.
