"Luna!"

She ripped her gaze from Grayson's face to in front of her. Luna saw a hurried Noah making his way over to them. She didn't want Noah to see her in his friend's arms so she pushed herself away from Grayson's hold.

"Noah," Luna said putting on a smile. He walked up to her and gave her a hug.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't be the one to pick you up."

"Oh no. It's okay."

"Thanks man," Noah said to Grayson. "For picking her up for me."

"Don't worry about it."

"Noah!" A girl came up from behind him and encircled her arms with his. This surprised Luna. "I was looking for you." Sera looked to be several years younger than her older brother. She has a beautiful face with a slim figure, her bouncing hair laid over her shoulders.

"Sera," Noah said removing her arms from his. She resisted and clung on tighter.

"Who is she?" Sera's gaze fell upon Luna.

"Sera," Noah said gesturing to Luna. "This is Luna; the one I was telling you about earlier. Luna, this is Grayson's baby sister; Seraphina."

"It's very nice to meet you," Luna said.

"Nice to meet you," Sera said, but didn't really mean it. Sera didn't seem to care about anyone else other than Noah. "Let's go dance," Sera said dragging Noah away.

"Sera," Grayson said sternly. Sera stopped in her tracks. Still holding onto Noah's arm, she lowered her head and lifted her eyes to look at her brother.

Luna started to feel like a burden. She didn't want to ruin the evening for Sera since it is a party for her. "You guys go have fun," Luna suggested.

Sera's face lit up and she smiled. "Let's go Noah!" She pulled him away from Luna and Grayson towards the crowded dance floor.

"I apologize for my sister," Grayson said putting a hand in his pant pocket.

"Oh no. Really, it's okay. This party is for Sera so I want her to enjoy it." Luna didn't want to be burden. She was really okay with the situation. She wasn't completely ready to be with Noah yet. She was still feeling quite confused—about Grayson.

Luna started feeling uncomfortable just standing there. "Food," she mumbled without realizing what choice of word she had chosen.

"You must be hungry," Grayson said. "I'll show you to the refreshments table." Grayson led Luna to one side of the room where there was a long table filled with all different kinds of foods and snacks.

Luna picked up a plate and started placing food on it. She noticed some stares and uncomfortably nibbled on the food on her plate. Grayson wasn't next to her anymore. Luna assumed that since it is his party, he had to be a good host and entertain the other guests as well. Although she understood that, she was saddened and felt alone in the big room with no familiar faces.

She stepped to the side, away from the refreshment table. As she stood there chewing on the piece of bread, two woman walked over to her. Luna felt her heart starting to race. 'Are they coming up to me?'

"Hello," the tall blonde woman said as she crossed her arms across her chest. "I'm Chloe and this is Miriam."

Luna swallowed the food in her mouth before introducing herself. "Hi. I'm Luna," she said.

"I saw that you came in with Grayson?" Miriam said sounding curious. "Are you two together?"

That question caught Luna off guard. "No," she immediately replied without even thinking.

"I told you," Chloe said to Miriam. She turned to Miriam and said in a low voice. "He wouldn't be with someone like her."

Luna heard her. Those words were a punch to her gut. Luna knows that she isn't the perfect girl, but what did they mean by "someone like her"?

"Luna," Grayson approached the three of them. He handed Luna a glass cup with what seems to be red wine. Luna accepted the cup. Chloe and Miriam nervously said 'hi' to Grayson, whom he ignored so they walked away.

"That was quite rude of you," Luna said referring to how Grayson ignored his guests.

"I don't involve myself with unpleasant things." He took a sip from his wine glass.

Luna burrowed her eyebrows at her wine cup. She put it up to her lips and slowly took a very small sip. She made a disgusted face as soon as the wine touched her tongue. She handed the glass to Grayson. He took it and questioned her.

"You don't like this wine?"

"No." She is a lover of sodas; which she currently swore off so now she is only drinking the all natural H2O. Luna doesn't drink any kind of alcohol. She didn't want to tell him that she doesn't drink so she didn't expand on her reply. She picked up a chocolate covered strawberry from her plate and took a bite.

Grayson put the two glasses of wine down on a plate carried by a server. Luna saw a smirk form on Grayson's face and she wondered why. He walked up to her and reached his right hand up to her face. Luna reacted and leaned back and stopped when she couldn't go any further. She could feel her heart beating rapidly again and her face heating up. With his thumb, Grayson softly wiped the chocolate from the corner of Luna's lip. Luna's eyes widened and didn't know how to react.

Grayson's smirk turned into a smile. He brought his thumb up to his mouth and licked off the chocolate smear. Luna just stared at him, frozen.

"I like chocolate," Grayson said.
