Hazel POV

While outside, I tried getting a car from different ride share apps, but because it's Saturday, and they were super busy.

As I was waiting, Aiden and his date emerged from the restaurant. Aiden noticed me and approached me.

"Hazel, where's the doctor?" he asked.

"He had an emergency and had to go to the hospital," I said.

"Oh," he said. "Let me give you a ride home then,"

"Oh no, I couldn't," I replied.

"Babe, she clearly doesn't want a ride. Why don't we both just get out of here? " the women said. I feel like I've seen her somewhere.

"Stacy. I think it's best if you go home. Your body guard is here. Why doesn't he take you home? " Aiden said.

Oh, Stacy. The ex-girlfriend.

"But Babe," she whined.

"I just agreed to have dinner with you. We had dinner. Now I think you should go home, " Aiden said.

"Humph!" She said. "Fine, see you at your party," she said as she walked away towards the parking lot, and a man opened the door for her.

"So, now will you let me give you a ride?" He asked.

"Yes. Thank you," I replied, not knowing what to say.

I entered his car and he started driving. He looked irritated and mad.

"Would it be ok if we go somewhere, before we go home?" He asked me.

"Sure," I said.

As we drove in silence, the tension between us palpable, Aiden pulled over at a lookout point.

We stepped out of the car, gazing at the city skyline before us.

No one else was around us. There was a small bench and Aiden gestured towards it, and we both took a seat.

"This was my mother's favorite place. she would bring me here as a kid. After she died, I would come here every time I needed to be alone. This place has always been my refuge, Whenever I needed to think or clear my head, I would come here. It's a special spot for me." Aiden said, his voice filled with a mix of nostalgia and vulnerability.

"How did your mother die?" I asked him.

"Cancer," he said. That explained why Alice had cancer.

"I'm sorry," I said.

"It ok. It happened a long time ago, " he responded.

"Why did you come here today? You said you come here to be alone, yet you brought me, " I said.

"You, Hazel Hart, bring me peace." He said. I didn't know what to say, so I simply nodded and said Oh.
"That was my ex-girlfriend. She cheated on me with who knows how many guys, " he said. "Ours dads are business partners. They set up a so-called family dinner and then canceled, but then made me go have dinner with my Stacy. Our dads are very similar. They only care about money. They think it would be awesome business if Stacy and I got back together so they merge their business. That's where I put my foot down. All my life, I've done everything my father asked for. But I won't do this. I won't get back together with Stacy, " he said.

The vulnerability in his voice tugged at my heart, and I felt a pang of sympathy for the pain he had endured.

Then he looked at me. "I'm sorry for rambling. I never really talk about this with anyone, " he said.

"It's ok, Aiden. I'm here for you." I said, looking at him. He smiled at me, and then I smiled back.

"So you and Dr. Anderson, " he said.

"Oh no, it's not what you think. Chloe set it up. It was all her idea, " I said.

"Oh, I see." Aiden nodded in understanding, his expression unreadable.

Then, Aiden turned towards me, his eyes meeting mine.

"Hazel," he said.

"Yes," I asked.

Then, out of nowhere, Aiden kissed me. I was in complete shock for a moment, but then I kissed him back. The kiss was every I hoped it would be. It felt very sweet and tender.

Aiden then pulled away and looked into my eyes. Then he looked away. "I'm sorry about that, Hazel. I got lost in the moment and got carried away, " he said.

That was my first kiss. Aiden kissed me, and then he regretted it. "It's ok. I understand, " I said, standing up. At that moment, all I wanted to do was run away. "Could we go home?" I asked him.

"Hazel, please don't take this the wrong way." He said.

I put on a brave face. "Aiden, I completely understand. I just want to go home, " I said.

"Ok," he responded.

I walked to his car and sat in the passenger seat. Aiden got in and started driving.

We rode in complete silence. I blamed myself for putting myself in these situations.

After what seemed like an eternity
We arrived home. Aiden parked the car, and I immediately unbukled my seat belt. "Hazel, wait," Aiden said as he unbukled his.

"I really need to get home. Thanks for the ride, Aiden, " I said, exiting the car and running away as fast as possible.

I arrived at my apartment and walked inside. As I closed the door, I heard Chloe from her room. "Hazel, are you home already? I didn't go out today, so you could tell me all the juicy details about your date, " she said and walked into the living room.

She saw my face and immediately pulled me into a hug. "Hayz, what happened? Tell me who I have to kill, " she said.

That's when I completely broke down.
