Just under two weeks to the UA Sports Festival.
It was a Saturday evening and Y/n sat at her desk, mumbling a song as she did her homework.

"Sawarasenaiiii kimi wa shojo na no" she sang, more to herself than to anyone else.

"Boku wa yarichin bicchi
no osu day-"

Bling

Her singing was interrupted by her phone going off, indicating a new message. Y/n looked over at the screen and noticed Shinso's name in the notification. She unlocked it and opened up her chat with the purple haired boy.

Shinso: Are you free?

Spidey: Well hello to you too c:

Shinso: Hello, are you free?

Y/n laughed and thought about it for a second. She didn't have any homework to do, or at least, nothing she couldn't copy off of Izuku at the last minute like she normally did.

Spidey: Yeah, I'm free, want to do something?

Shinso: I was hoping we could go for a walk, meet me in front of school?

Spidey: Sounds like a plan, I'll see you there at 6.

Y/n got up from her place at her desk and went to have a shower, mentally picking out her outfit for the day. Something simple and cosy would do.
After washing and drying her hair, she got dressed and applied just the right amount of make up to make her feel confident enough.

"Hey mum!" she called as she walked downstairs.

"Yes baby?" she asked, turning her head towards her daughter from her position on the sofa.

"Aw, you look pretty" she complimented, smiling at her daughter.

"Thanks ma. I'm going out with a friend of mine for a bit, I'll be home in a few hours" Y/n replied.

"Friend? Is it that K-"

"Mum stop obsessing over Kirishima, I mentioned him ONCE. I have more than one friend you know... This is someone else"

Her mother seemed deep in thought for a second, before opening her mouth once again.

"More than one boy then? You're a teenager, you're experimenting, I get it. But this a bit of a dangerous game you're playing" she lectured, making Y/n pinch the bridge of her nose.

"Sure mum, whatever, see you later" she waved and disappeared out of the house, closing the door behind her.
M/n watched her daughter leave, her gaze lingering on the closed door one too many seconds. She sighed to herself and gazed at the calendar hanging just next to door.
Y/n would be 16 in a few months.

"I just wish I could go back in time and make the right decision" the girl's mother mumbled, turning her attention back to the television which was blasting the news.

--

"There you are" Y/n greeted with a big grin on her face as the stoic purple haired boy walked up to her.
He waved and gave her a small smirk as he looked her up and down.

"I'm glad they haven't gotten to you yet" he taunted. Y/n raised an eyebrow at what he said.

"Huh?"

"I heared your little speech the other day. About everyone watching you and no one watching the rest of the students"

Y/n's eyes widened as she suddenly remembered. She hadn't realised Shinso was there, in fact she had completely forgotten about him being part of the group of students she had criticized, well, that group being everyone in the school apart from class 1-A.

Crap

"I'm so sorry about that I-"

"It's ok, you're not wrong" he smiled. They both started walking, the orange light of the setting sun warming up the atmosphere. It was a beautiful evening, the perfect breeze, the perfect light. Every time the two of them would stop talking, they would be engulfed in a pleasurable silence. It was strange nowadays, with the crime rates going up and villains multiplying like flies.

"I wanted to warn you, before the Sports Festival" Shinso started, his hands placed on the back of his head as he eyed the girl strolling next to him.

"About what?"

"My quirk"

Y/n turned to him and nodded, signalling him to continue. They were finally having the conversation they had promised themselves weeks ago.

"Brainwashing. I can control other people's bodies with my mind, however, it only works if they answer my questions" he spoke.
Y/n's eyes slowly widened as he told her about his quirk. The similarity in their quirks was quite scary, but also rather relieving.

"That face. Don't worry I won't use it on you, not unless I have to at the Sports Festival" he winked.
Y/n was quick at shaking her head.

"That's not it"

"What then?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Our quirks. They're so similar" she muttered, placing her index finger on her chin as she thought. Shinso placed a hand on her head and smiled.

"Is that so?" he asked, receiving an eager nod.

"My quirk, Spider. It lets me produce thin fibers from my fingers and I can control other people through them. Plus I get access to their quirks somehow when I have full control on their body" she explained.
Shinso watched her talk and his eyes shone.

"If we had babies, they'd be the perfect manipulators" he laughed soundly. Y/n blushed at the thought he had put in her head but giggled at his comment. This kind of stupid humor was what she needed.
The two of them walked around for quite some time until it was the time to go back home. Shinso accompanied Y/n to the bus stop and patiently waited with her.

"Thank you" he said, out of the blue, interrupting the comfortable silence between them. He brushed his shoulder with hers as he smiled.

"No, thank you" Y/n smiled. She noticed the bus arrive in a distance and she turned towards Shinso. She stood on the tips of her toes and hugged him briefly, leaving a quick kiss on his cheek. She let go and walked through the bus entrance, turning to wave at her friend.

"Don't underestimate me" he called as the bus doors closed.

"Never have" Y/n mouthed back, a big grin on her face. Once her bus was out of sight, Shinso sighed and hung his head. Every time he saw her, she seemed better than the time before. Was that even possible?

You don't need your quirk to have full control over me

--

"TWO WEEKS SEEMED SO MUCH LONGER TWO WEEKS AGO" Y/n shouted as she slammed her head on the desk, Kirishima patting her back as he sweatdropped.

"Come on now Y/n, you've practiced plenty in the time we had" he said, nervously glancing at Kaminari for help. He shrugged his shoulders, unsure of how to deal with the situation. Most students were super excited about this, but Y/n just seemed anxious and prepared to fail.
Well to be fair she did feel that way for pretty much anything.

"Not that it'll help you Spidey, I'll end up crushing you in the end even if you have practiced all your life" Bakugo 'tch'ed. Kirishima gave him a 'you're not helping' look, but the ticking time bomb was completely oblivious.
Y/n lifted a thumbs up towards her ash blonde friend.

Izuku came over and sat on her desk, placing a hand on her head. He looked over at Kirishima and pointed at his hand as if to say 'look'. He slowly started stroking her hair, massaging her scalp as if he could massage all the bad thoughts away.
Y/n hummed at her best friend's touch and kneeded her head in to his palm. Kirishima gave the green haired boy a thumbs up and a grin.
Todoroki curiously watched the scene from the corner of his eye. She had been confident and annoying until yesterday but now she seemed too dead to move. However, Midoriya's touch seemed to regenerate her enough to get some colour back in her face.

Before they knew it, Aizawa stood at the front of the class.

"Alright class, I'll be bringing you down to the opening ceremony. From then on you are by yourselves" he explained and started moving, everyone quickly following. Y/n stood at the back of the row of excited students and sighed.
For some reason, she hadn't realised how real this was until she got in to the moment and now she was regretting the day she was born. Such a big audience.

She felt a cold hand on her forehead, snapping her back to reality. The class was now empty, apart from her and a certain red and white haired boy standing in front of her. She looked him in the eyes with a questioning look as he started roughly rubbing circles in her forehead with his palm.

"What are you doing?"

"Isn't this how he does it?" Todoroki asked.

"I have no idea what you are talking about Shoto but let's go" she jumped up and grabbed his left wrist, pulling him with her. The heat that radiated from that side was quite a difference in temperature compared to the cold hand she had just felt on her head.
Todoroki's cheeks glowed pink for a second at the mention of his first name. He watched her hand hold on to him as he was being dragged quickly through the corridors.
Once they managed to catch up with the rest of the class, they were getting ready to go out with the rest of the students in the huge field where the games would be held.

"There you are!" Kaminari grinned, dragging Y/n away from Todoroki and pulling her beside him and Ashido. They struck up a conversation with her as they waited for the call.
Todoroki stood behind, his gaze suddenly falling on Midoriya, his eyes narrowing as he observed him.

Y/n shuddered as the opening ceremony began, the music starting and Midnight's voice being projected through the whole stadium, calling out the competitors in this year's games.

"LET'S GO" Kirishima smirked, making his way out proudly, soon followed by everyone else, Kaminari having to drag Y/n.
She wasn't happy about all the attention. As they left the perfectly pleasant hiding under the bleachers and the sun shone directly on them, a loud crowd of cheers engulfed them. Y/n lifted her eyes and looked around, hundreds and hundreds of people staring down. This made her want to gag.

"Isn't this exicting?" Kaminari beamed.

"No, not really" Y/n answered flatly.

She noticed a figure moving his arm in a waving motion to her left and turned to see Shinso smirking and saying hello to her. Y/n gave him a sheepish grin and a small wave back.

"OI SPIDEY, WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT THE ENEMY?" Bakugo barked, grabbing the hand she had been waving with and tugging her with him, giving the purple haired boy a horrible death glare.

"We do not simp for the enemy" I repeated, remembering his stupid remark from quite a while ago.

"Good" he grumbled. As everyone stood in front of Midnight's stage, Y/n turned her gaze down to her hand, which was still being held in Bakugo's tight grip. She looked up at his profile, but he seemed completely unfazed by the situation.

I'm just overthinking

"And representing class 1-A, Katsuki Bakugo" Midnight beamed, pointing at the ash blonde in front of her. At that point Bakugo let go of Y/n's arm and made his way to the stage.

"Oh no" Y/n muttered, already knowing where this was going.

"You just said what we're all thinking" Izuku sweatdropped.
Bakugo reached the top of the stage and walked up to the microphone. It was dead silent all around, but unfortunately, class 1-A knew what was about to come.

"I pledge" Bakugo started, taking a deep breath "I'll be number one".
As everyone in the audience and from the other classes went mental, Y/n and the rest of her classmates just stood there, either in disbelief or just wondering how that human being could possibly be the one representing them as a class.
However, whether people liked Bakugo's speech or not wasn't really important, as it did give the official start to the UA Sports Festival either way.

Fuck me
