"Need a ride, princess?" Noah's car stopped beside me, his face laughing at me behind the open window.

"Actually, yes."

His expression turned cold and serious. I took the opportunity and somehow managed to take the seat beside him before he drove away.

For the next few minutes, the silence was flouting around his car.

He didn't expect any of it, and I was too cold to care. The smell of alcohol competed with the feeling of tension between us, both competing on which one is going to get me killed by the end of the ride.

"There is a blanket on the back seat," Noah surprised me, noticing my shaking figure. Without a second thought, I grabbed the purple piece of fabric from the back seat and wrapped it around myself tightly.

"Thank you," I whispered, matching my tone to the quietness surrounding us. He nodded, keeping his eyes on the road.

God, I hope he didn't drink anything.

"Turn left here then-"

"I know where you live," he stated, his voice lower than usual.

"That's because you are a creep," and because you remember things you need to forget.

"Can I use your phone for a second?" I asked him.

"No."

"Thank you," I smiled at him and took the phone away from his tight grip.

Viv didn't pick up when I called her. It was weird leaving her a message with Noah sitting next to me, but I didn't want her to worry about me.

"Hey, Viv, I... umm... found a way to get back home. Don't drink too much and text me when you reach home. Love you."

Text me when you reach home? Nice thinking, Skylar.

It's more like text my dead phone when you reach home and don't wait for an answer, because sadly you won't get one anytime soon.

I ended the message, knowing the silence would come right after.

"You did it on purpose, didn't you?" I pointed at my dress.

"Stop talking to me, princess," the way he used that pathetic name he gave me made me freeze on my spot. His tone was almost dangerous, evil and rude.

The car ride wasn't long. I knew that I had to question him about that day. If he tells people about where I live and my alcoholic father, they will take Jacob away from me. While having a serious conflict with myself, the car stopped beside my house before I was able to even look at him.

I gained courage quickly and cleared my throat.

"Did you tell anyone?" I turned to look at him.

"I didn't," he kept his eyes on the road, his arms held the wheel tightly. He didn't like the idea of me talking after he warned me not to.

"Okay. Thank you, Noah," I told him while opening the door.

"Good night," I called out before I closed the door, finally leaving the long night and him behind me.

"I hope some of you started with your projects. I want to see good work today with your partners. If anyone needs me, I will be waiting right here," Ms. Brown pointed at her desk. Noah, who suddenly took the seat beside me at the beginning of class, was trying hard not to laugh at the poor teacher.

I kind of like her, I have to admit.

She is nice.

We need more nice people in this world.

Although, I am also a bit mad at her for pairing me up with Noah.

For the rest of the lesson, we didn't do anything or speak to each other. I pretended to write random things in my notebook, and he was busy talking to his friend across the class- Viv's partner. After a few minutes of staring at him awkwardly, I figured that he was the stranger from the party who Viv talked to.

Interesting.

After many long minutes of torture, his friend came to our table. He first winked at Noah meaning to tease him about something, which I found extremely weird. Then, he grabbed his bag and ran to the other side of the class.

"Don't you fucking dare touching it," Noah warned him, he looked scary.

"Touching what? That black notebook?" he teased him again, making Noah turn red from anger.

"That's none of your fucking business Marcus," he spoke with so much irritation that I thought he might explode.

Marcus began pulling out a simple black notebook from Noah's bag before Noah punched him hard in the face. All 26 students were staring at him with much fear.

"Don't ever touch my things, man."

Noah took the notebook and the bag away from his hands and walked out of class.

Just like that.

What was wrong with him?

"I am used to his bullshit," Marcus turned to Viv and smiled.

What?

"You need to pull a prank on him," Viv stated as we walked through the hallways of high school.

"You need to tell me about you and Marcus!" I clapped my hands, smiling at her like stupid.

"It's nothing, Sky, really. We are-"

"Just friends. I don't believe that, but feel free to tell me anytime," I kept on smiling. If something happens between her and Marcus, I want to be the first to know.

"Now, about that prank. Are you thinking what I am thinking?" I shook my head to no, getting an eye-roll in response.

"Prank Noah. Go buy a black notebook, tell him you stole his and do something evil with it. There is something important in this notebook. If not, he is probably attracted to these pieces of paper, which can explain that punch."

"I am not sure, it's a bit mean."

"Sky, after what he had done to your backpack, nothing needs to stop you!"

"How do you know it was him?"

"I know everything," she winked at me, reminding me of Marcus and what he did earlier.

Maybe she is right. After all, I will cause no harm to his belongings.

"If you are not going to do it, I will," she pushed.

"I will do it on one condition," I held one finger up.

"Keep going."

"Don't ever make me go to parties again, and help me find something creative that I can make for the project," because Noah is clearly not going to help me with that.

"I hear two conditions."

"I always tell you to visit the doctor."
