*ALEXIS' POV*
Last night was filled with.. surprises, I guess you can say?

I didn't even know Armon would even go that far in coming all the way to New York just to waste his time.

Niggas stay wildin.

Once I woke up, I called Dave to see what he was up to and if Aniyah was good.

Surprisingly, there was no answer. And it was already twelve o'clock noon, so he HAD to be up already.

I then called Alyssa up since Dave wasn't answering.

"Hey, Lex. What's up, girl?"

"Have you heard anything from Christian? I haven't heard anything from Dave. I tried calling him, and I got no answer."

"Very funny that you said that, because I've tried contacting Christian all morning too, and nothing. He usually ALWAYS answers my calls or texts right away."

"Do you think everything is okay?"

"Doesn't he have Aniyah? Maybe you should go over there and check on them."

"You have a point. I'll keep you updated."

I hung up the phone, then getting myself ready to go over to Dave's place.

As I was driving over there, something in my gut was telling me that something just wasn't right.

That feeling wouldn't go away the entire drive over there.

Once I pulled up to his place, I then figured out why.

Once I got out of my car, I seen that Dave's car was still here.

But then, what was on the ground left me more terrified than ever.

"OH MY GOD! WHAT THE FUCK?!"

Tears from the absolute terror just started streaming out of my eyes.

Jacob, MY BABY FATHER, was laying out in front of Dave's doorstep, already dead from a gun shot wound.

Freaking out, I didn't know what to do. I ran up to the front door, starting to bang on it.

"DAVE! OPEN THIS FUCKING DOOR RIGHT NOW! WHERE'S MY DAUGHTER?!"

Banging on the door a few more times, it slowly opened. Before I walked in, I took my phone out and called Maya.

"What's up, Lex? I'm at work right now."

"You need to get over here right mow! I just found Jacob dead, and I don't know where the hell Aniyah is!"

"What the fuck?! Are you serious?! You're at Dave's house?!"

"Yeah, I — wait, how did you know of Dave already..?"

"It's a long story. I'll be over in a few. Just do me a favor, and stay in your car to wait for me. Don't touch Jake. Don't go inside the house. I need you to just stay in the car, you can't tamper with evidence."

Maya quickly hung up. I started to sob as I waited in my car for Maya to show up.

What the fuck is actually happening?!

In less than twenty four hours of being back here, my baby father is dead, and my daughter is missing!

Somehow, I feel like this is all my fault...

Within ten minutes, Maya showed up in her police car. I then got out of my car, walking over to her.

"What the actual fuck is going on, Maya?"

"I'm afraid you got involved with a longtime criminal. He's the main suspect of one of his best friend's murders right now. He's a gang banger along with all of his other friends, he deals drugs —"

"I kinda caught on about the drug dealing part. Which friend though?"

"Bashar Jackson. Do you know anything about him?"

Shit.

One of his friends that I was fucking around with.

What if I was the reason he murdered him?

"Yeah.. I used to mess around with him a few months before I met Dave. BUT, I didn't know they were friends when I met Dave."

"I'll take you back to the station to get more information on that. But also, he's a big time murderer. He's just a straight up thug, Alexis. He's caught at least ten bodies within the last year. Eleven now including Jake. And now you said Aniyah is missing?!"

"Yes! I don't know if HE'S the one who did something with her, now that you tell me all of this!"

"We don't know that for sure. But, it's a strong possibility."

I instantly became sick to my stomach, knowing that the man I was close to calling my boyfriend possibly did something to my daughter.

Why did I ever trust him so damn easily?

If anything ever happens to my daughter, I wouldn't ever be able to live with myself.

"Oh my god.."

"Just stay out here while I go check out the house. You should maybe call your mom or Trevor to see if they've heard anything, even though they're far away."

Maya explained before stepping foot in the house.

This all makes sense now.

My house needed new floors.

I remember Dave telling me.

That was all a lie just to cover his ass up.

Maybe that's where he did something dirty, and had to get rid of his floor..

Possibly where he murdered Bashar.

"Girl, I rushed over here as soon as I — what the fuck?!"

Alyssa was standing behind me. I looked at her in pure sadness.

"It turns out, Dave isn't who he says he is. He's a complete fraud, that I TRUSTED with my daughter, and now she's nowhere to be found!"

"Just try your best to stay positive, I know we're going to Aniyah. So what happened, exactly?!"

"I don't know. Like I said, he wasn't answering my calls, so I came over here. Only to find Jacob dead, and my daughter missing."

"And the house is completely empty. He only took the very important stuff with him. There's no sign of anyone in there."

Maya came back out of the house. I looked back over at her in even more fear.

"There's no sign that he hurt Aniyah?"

"Not as of now. But when I went up to his daughters' room, the window was busted open. It's possible that Aniyah was kidnapped. BUT, don't worry. You know I'm one of the best officers in town, and I WILL help you find my niece. I won't sleep until we find her."

"Was Christian in on all of this, too?"

Alyssa asked, looking worried at Maya. Maya slowly nodded with a slight sigh.

"I'm afraid so, Alyssa. Dave and his friends are a full gang. Whatever Dave was apart of, the rest of them were, too. That's why it's important to find all of them, and throw these criminals in jail for good. Luckily, one of them are already in jail."

"Oh, we know. Clarence. He beat up his girlfriend and stabbed her side piece. We only know because we work with Queen. But I can't believe this nigga! I really let him around Loyal, and this is who he REALLY is?! Not only that, but Aniyah is missing!"

"That's why it's important that you two just sit back, and let me do my job. As hard as it is, you have to let me work on this case. I promise, I won't let you down. We'll find Aniyah, and they'll all be thrown in jail as soon as they're found."

I really can't believe that men are this down and low.

It's official, everybody.

Alexis Bryant ALWAYS has bad luck with men. No matter who it is.
