The General

The hunt for General Grevious was on.
The cyborg was known to be in charge of the massive droid army of the separatists alliance, and for killing numerous Jedi in the ongoing war.

But the Republic hoped to change that.

Standing aboard the deck of the famous Venator-class star destroyer, Obi Wan Kenobi frowned. He and his fleet had finally cornered Grevious and blocked him from any escape. But it wasn't the situation at hand that worries him, it was a bad feeling that something was wrong.

If you had asked anyone in the Republic fleet at this time, this was going to be a decisive victory.

They had finally cornered Grievous to a world just outside the outer rim territories. It had no name or any designation but it's future was to be a new separatist factory/mining world, that is, until the a Republic caught them off guard.

"General Kenobi? Is something wrong sir?" Admiral Yularen asked after seeing Obi Wan simply stare at the battle, showing no sign of emotion as he simply caressed his beard. Anakin has been called to speak with Chancellor Palpatine right before the discovery, and left his Admiral with Obi Wan.

"Oh, nothing Admiral, just a feeling." Obi Wan couldn't help but feel that something was off.

"Well I hope it doesn't have anything to do with this battle, if we can finally grab Grievous."

"I know Admiral, I'm just going to have to trust in the force that this shall go in our favor."

And it was. The three Venators had surrounded and quickly attacked the few munificent-class frigates and Grievous' flagship, the invisible hand. The battle had been going on for several minutes now, the squads of headhunter a and arc-170's had demolished the vulture droid's with fair casualties. Only one Venator was lost in the fighting, while the other two were in good condition.

The invisible hand was taking a lot of damage from the combined power of the two Venators. It's shields were starting to drop, and Grevious was growing desperate for a way to escape.

Bashing at the head of a B1, Grievous was obviously furious at the battle. Not only did the Republic discover his location, but they caught him off guard and unprepared. His forces were dropping and so were the shields of his ship.

"Get us out of here you useless droids!" He yelled in anger.

"But sir, we can't go anywhere with the Republic attacking us!" A B1 replied, then almost expected his head to be taken off, but was 'happy' that it wasn't.

"Then send us into the unknown regions for all I care, just do it!"

"Are you sure? No one has ever been past this part of the sector and returned!" It was true. Most people tended to avoid this system entirely, as it was close to a set of strange wormhole-like objects surrounding large nebulas that stretched for light years. A good place for a secret droid factory.

"This ship should be more than capable when dealing with whatever is out there, prepare to jump!"

"Roger roger." The droids all simultaneously replied.

"Hyperdrive is ready." A B1 called out.

"Waiting for coordinates." Said another.

A third called out after a moment, saying, "Prepare to jump to sector S3-4221 right past the nebula."

"Roger roger!"

The invisible hand started to aim away from the Republic fleet to find a gap for a safe jump. As the Republic continued to fire, the invisible hand made a last minute jump.

"Systems report!" Admiral Yularen yelled after the invisible hand jumped. "Where did they go?"

"The only place they could, the unknown regions."

"But that's insanity! This section of the unknown regions are too dangerous for any kind of ship!"

"At least none this size." Obi Wan thought out loud. Ships the size of the Republic Venator-class star destroyer hadn't ever crossed through this sector of the unknown regions, which was nicknamed,  'the hallow of space'.

A deck officer walked up to Yularen and Obi Wan. "Sirs, systems are functioning well, shields and turbo lasers are currently recharging."

"Do we know where Grievous went?"

"We can follow their trail if we hurry, but are you sure it is truly safe?"

"We'll have to find out, prepare for a hyperspace jump!" The Admiral ordered.

The jump went smooth. Blue and white flashes of light went pass the ship at faster than light speed, and they stayed on this path for several minutes until they returned to real space.

"Sir, we've spotted Grievous' ship over the uh..." The navigator was speechless at the amazing site.

"It's some kind of planet." Yularen muttered.

"Made of metal? This is definitely not natural." Obi Wan said as he and everyone else in the ship's just stared at the giant metal orb. It was silvery and metallic, with blue streaks across it.

"But who could create such a thing? That's simply not possible!" Yularen looked in awe and even doubt.

"Some civilization in deep space, that are obviously really advanced." Kenobi could only wonder who or what could have possibly made this. But he did know, whoever or whatever did, was much more advanced than the Republic or the Separatists.

"Sir, we've detected a ship several clicks towards the planet! It doesn't match anything in our database." A clone deck officer said as he showed an image of said ship.

The vessel was smaller than the Republic cruisers, and seemed to have taken heavy damage from something. It had several strange symbols across its hull, and several gun placements.

"Can you detect any life forms?" Yularen asked.

Obi Wan was way ahead of Yularen, using the force, he felt through the entirety of the ship, only to not detect any signature in the force. He was about to say something, only to be cut off by the deck officer.

"We've detected a single life form, sir, but it seems to be inactive."

"Hold that thought," another officer exclaimed from his post, "several boarding craft are heading towards the ship from the invisible hand."

Just as he spoke, four pods, full of droids, soared past the closing invisible hand, and soon connected to the ship.

"Admiral, we're going to need to help whoever is onboard, and deal with Grievous before he escapes again."

"Affirmative, General." Yularen turned from the viewpoint. "Launch fighters and get in range of the invisible hand, and get some men ready to board that strange vessel!"
