As soon as the broadcast ended that night, the entire country and the world turned upside down. Every police station and law enforcers in the country were so busy that night responding to inquiries one after another from the public. They were also trying to gather all the information that was released during broadcast so that they could make hasty decisions to respond to the public's concerns and anger. There were many people involved and shown on the list that were of high positions and had much influence in the country which was the most concerning for the people.

"Can we trust the police anymore?" some would say.

"There's corruption everywhere. This is why this country is going to hell!" another would write on the internet.

"We all knew that these kinds of things exist. Everyone knows but no one is willing to do anything about it," many wrote on the forums.

"We can't trust anyone anymore."

"The truth is out."

It also didn't take long after the broadcast that many informants and whistleblowers came out to confirm the list of suspects and those involved within such a corrupted society. Many of them hid and didn't say anything for a long time because they doubted the country's justice system and they were worried about their families and their lives if they involved themselves. Many have been fighting a lonely battle and were too afraid to speak up. The hacked broadcast paved a way for those who are innocent and concerned to finally speak up and this was exactly what the Neo Apostles wanted.

This is what Lee ChangIn wanted as well.

While all of this was happening, Taekwoon was not only trying to do his job as a police officer but he was also worried about another thing, Hongbin. Although Hongbin was still in the middle of his suspension, it was very strange for him not to answer his calls. He was growing worried that he couldn't reach Hongbin for the entire day because if anything, after such a big revelation, Hongbin would have been the first to contact the station out of concern yet there was not a single word from him.

Did something happen? It can't be that Cha Hakyeon also kidnapped Hongbin, right? No, it can't be possible. How would he be able to kidnap two officers in such a short time and still not get spotted anywhere in Seoul? As far as Taekwoon was concerned, Cha Hakyeon was probably not in Seoul anymore and wherever he went, he definitely took Wonshik with him. He was confident that Wonshik would be fine and wouldn't be so careless to get taken away by Cha Hakyeon so easily but now that Hongbin also disappeared, his worries were growing. And with the entire police station in a commotion, he didn't want to alarm the entire department about two missing officers without further confirmation. Yet, he also knew that he couldn't sit still and do nothing.

But what were his priorities at this point? Taekwoon is only one person and could only handle so much alone. The pressure was building up.

After the video message from Lee ChangIn was broadcasted all over the nation, and the list of people involved were revealed, the police station also received a package the next morning which contained all of the physical evidence and data inside as affirmation. Some of that evidence included financial records and video evidence that were most likely hacked from highly secured systems which shocked the police even more. Whoever was behind the broadcast last night was definitely the same person who was able to gather all of this evidence and turn it into the police. But thanks to that, all suspects would not be able to talk or pay their way out of this. The public wanted an answer and they wanted something to be done, and with the evidence at hand, there was no escape.

In just a few days, the police were able to catch and arrest the suspects on the list. Those who wanted to escape the borders were stopped and those who have been hiding outside of the country were also forced back for interrogations.

And in such a short span of time, the Lee Corporation's history was also brought to light by the netizens since Lee ChangIn's last messages were highly suspicious. It became clear that Lee ChangIn was forced to step down of his company due to corruptions and foul play and eventually, when both Lee Jinhwan and Lee Bora's names were on the list, netizens started to compile videos and the entire history of the Lee Corporation to show that Lee ChangIn was mostly likely overthrown by his own son. The internet became a massive witch-hunt overnight and the people demanded the police to immediately arrest Lee Jinhwan and Lee Bora for interrogations.

Yet, something caught the interest of the internet and that was, neither grandsons of Lee ChangIn who are still alive, were on the list and both have also gone missing. No one has seen them since the broadcast which caused a spiral of speculations among the net. Some speculated that the two brothers were also involved in the business but were never caught and they knew that the police would eventually catch on, so they went into hiding before the list was revealed. Others believed that the two brothers were the ones who revealed the list themselves as whistleblowers and because they knew that doing so would put them in danger, they decided to hide. And the worst case scenario was that both had already been killed.

With these speculations looming over social media, the death of Lee Jaeho became very suspicious for some. What if the White Rose Killer killed him because the killer knew about the Lee family's corruption and he knew that Lee Jaeho was involved as well. Regardless of what was the truth, even the suspect for the White Rose Killer had gone into hiding. Yet, it didn't take long for the people to stop talking about the White Rose Killer, and all attention was towards the Lee Family and all those involved in the list of people and organizations that corrupted society.

Despite the police wanting to find the truth, the fact that both Lee Jaegwan and Lee Jaehwan had gone missing made it very difficult for them to know the full story. Even though the team in the Homicides Investigations Department had some leads to the list of people, there were still doubts of the full picture. After all, they only had one side of the story and that was from the Apostles themselves.

When Taekwoon and the lieutenant came out to tell the other departments of their investigations for the past year or so, people were upset and angry.

"Why didn't you tell us sooner?!" other supervisors yelled at the lieutenant while Taekwoon stood behind and watched in silence.

"We wanted to make sure. We didn't have enough evidence to say anything. They were all allegations and we didn't know who to trust," InGuk told them. "You all saw the list yourselves. Even those in the police are just as corrupted. So, who do I trust at this point?"

"Just say you wanted to take all the credit for yourself!" another put the blame on InGuk.

Taekwoon couldn't say anything. He was told to keep quiet and stand back. But it was infuriating to watch or listen to as InGuk took it all in. No one knew more than the Homicides Investigations Department that they've been doing so much more than they were assigned to. They've watched all those involved with the organization and the corruption, killed and disappeared one by one.

Although they couldn't find the two remaining brothers, they were able to bring in both Lee Jinhwan and Lee Bora for interrogations. These two were the true masterminds behind it all and despite the suspicions previously in past cases, they didn't have enough evidence to bring them in. Yet, the tables have turned and the police had enough to bring them in for questioning.

The two suspects were placed in different rooms, InGuk in charge of questioning Lee Jinhwan and Taekwoon was in another room to interrogate Lee Bora later.

Taekwoon, who was waiting for his turn, decided to tune into Lee Jinhwan's interrogation on the other side of the mirror room. He had never seen the lieutenant do the interrogations before, so he was quite curious on how InGuk would handle someone like Lee Jinhwan.

Lee Jinhwan sat in the middle of the room wearing a dark gray suit, decked out from top to bottom and sat straight with confidence. There was no waver in his eyes and he was definitely not nervous about the situation at all. He was calm and the atmosphere around him was definitely unsettling.

When Seo InGuk finally entered the room, the two figures had a moment of silence as the lieutenant pulled out a chair and sat down.

Taekwoon, who was watching on the other side, gulped. Even though they were separated, he could feel the heavy atmosphere looming over from the other side through the glass mirror.

"Who would've thought that we'd meet face to face like this again, huh Jinhwan-ah," InGuk said as if they were close and didn't even have to introduce himself.

What? Taekwoon was surprised and noticed Lee Jinhwan flinched a bit at the familiarity.

"Did you forget what I said before? One day, your greed and thirst would get you into trouble and I don't want to be the one having to arrest you," InGuk said. "Yet, here we are."

"I didn't forget," Lee Jinhwan said. "You really haven't changed at all, Seo InGuk."

Around thirty years ago...

"InGuk-ah, how's school?" the old bedridden man asked his grandson one day.

"It's not bad. I joined the soccer club, so I might be a little busy to visit you gramps," InGuk said. "Sorry."

"Don't worry about it. The doctor said that I won't have to be here for too much longer. It's just a few more rehab sessions and I'll be out," his grandfather said and patted his grandson on the head proudly. "I'm just sorry I couldn't accompany you during the entrance ceremony."

"It was really boring so I'm glad you didn't have to sit through it all!"

"Did you fall asleep in the middle?" his grandfather joked.

"You bet I did! It wasn't just me though, the guys around me all fell asleep during the assembly too."

"I was the same when I was your age too. Understandable," his grandfather laughed weakly but happily as he talked to beloved grandson, Seo InGuk.

InGuk was fifteen at the time and he grew up with his grandfather after his parents passed away due to an accident. But he was still very young to really remember anything about his parents, so his grandfather was the closest person he got in the world. InGuk was very caring about his grandfather and took care of the house as much as he could to lessen the old man's burdens at home. But since he entered high school, he couldn't take care of the house as much as he wanted. Yet, his grandfather insisted that InGuk focused on his studies so he could get into a good college and make his parents proud.

That wasn't too difficult to do thankfully. InGuk was athletic and smart even though his school was only average, his efforts could be seen by both his peers and the teachers. He felt proud about his achievements and each time he showed his grandfather his awards, the smile on his grandfather's face made him twice as accomplished.

That being said, after his grandfather got hospitalized and had to undergo surgery, the medical fees were tremendous and the two were having trouble paying it all off on top of his grandfather's rehab fees. InGuk had to lie about his age to work at a convenience store at night and he made sure that the store was far from his school so that no one would recognize him since working part-time was banned at his school.

"Morning, InGuk!" a classmate ran up to InGuk in the morning while he got off the bus and made his way to school in the morning.

"Morning," InGuk said back.

"Did you finish all your homework for Mr. Kwon's class?"

"Mhmm."

"Can I ... check your homework?"

"You mean copy?"

"You know what I mean."

"Just make sure you don't make it too obvious," InGuk said.

"Don't worry! I'll make sure to get some of the questions wrong," his friend said.

As the two walked along the busy street with the others from the same school, one luxury car after another passed by them. Each with a personal driver.

"Ugh, rich kids," his friend said as the two looked onto the other side of the street from their school.

A prestigious rich kids high school was just across the street from their old public all-boys school. InGuk never understood why the two schools that were from completely different worlds would be located so close to each other. It was as if the rich kids were mocking them every morning as they headed to class.

"Hey, that kid is from the Lee family right?" his friend noticed a tall high school kid come out of the car along with the rest. "What was his name again? Lee Jinhwan, I think?"

But something about that particular boy's aura felt different from the others.

"Lee family?" InGuk had no idea what his friend was going on about.

"Yeah! You know that big Lee Corporation and Holdings company? Dude, they're infamously rich."

"So?" Inguk really couldn't care less.

"What do you mean, so? You really don't care?"

"Why should I? It's not like they have anything to do with me. There are rich people and poor people in this world. If I had to know about every rich or poor people in this world, I'd have no time for myself. Plus, their wealth is none of my business."

"Seriously? But people said that they're suspicious. Like they do very underhanded things to get to where they are now."

"And? Leave that to the police to figure that out. Com'on stop being nosy and let's get to class before we become late," InGuk pulled his friend through the school gates.

He turned around once more though and took another glance at the rich kid from the Lee family. Indeed, there was an undeniable intimidating aura around the boy but aside from that, InGuk couldn't care less.

Yet, as much as he didn't want to care, it seems like by fate he ended up being entangled with the Lee family.

One day after school, as InGuk was walking home from school, he noticed a bunch of rough looking adults crowding around someone in the small streets. When he took a closer look at who was so unfortunate, it turned out to be Lee Jinhwan of the Lee Corporation.

"Hand over your wallet rich kid," one of the men threatened the high school kid.

"..." Jinhwan didn't respond and just looked coldly at the adults. He didn't seem scared at all.

"We know you're rich. Just look at your uniform," another said as he pulled the teenager's well-tailored uniform with filthy hands.

Jinhwan pulled the man's hands away and glared as if he was telling them not to touch him with just his eyes alone.

"You!" the guys were running out of patience as their threats were not working.

"Officers! They're over there!" InGuk ran at the crowd and pointed at them.

Immediately, the crowd ran away, afraid of being caught.

InGuk ran up to Jinhwan and looked around to make sure that the guys were nowhere in sight anymore and took a deep breath of relief.

"The police?" Jinhwan uttered as he looked at the kid with a familiar looking uniform, who ran up to him and kind of saved him.

"A fluke. Anyways, you should get out of here before they come back," InGuk said.

"..."

Jinhwan didn't say anything at that time. Not a thank you, not anything. But InGuk didn't expect much. He only did what felt right at that point and it wasn't as if they were going to bump into each other again. There were no reasons to.

But when the hospital called InGuk once again to talk about his grandfather's medical fees and the need to extend the rehab sessions, InGuk became entangled with Jinhwan again.

In silence, Jinhwan found out who the kid who helped him was. He knew what kind of environment the boy Seo InGuk was living under yet remained optimistic.

"We're even now," Jinhwan said as he paid for all of the remaining medical fees that inGuk owned.

"How can this be even? This is way more than just saving you from getting mugged by a few guys," InGuk emphasized as he insisted on paying back the money he now owes Lee Jinhwan.

"They would have figured out who I was and it wouldn't just be a wallet they mugged. So, I owe you and I've repaid that."

"Is that how you handle these kinds of things in your family? As expected of the Lee Corporations," InGuk sighed. "But thanks. I really appreciate it. If you need anything in the future, don't hesitate to ask. That's the least I can do."

The two became an odd couple of friends. They were so different from each other and hung out from time to time. But each time they did, Jinhwan didn't really get involved and simply kept quiet as InGuk tried to find a way to entertain them. It was strange but InGuk didn't feel like Jinhwan was a bad person. He was just stoic and his intimidating aura seemed more of a front than how he actually is.

Their friendship didn't really last long though. They were not exceptionally close and their ideals were just too different. They never seemed to really agree much on anything but at the same time, neither fought with the other during their disagreements.

And InGuk also felt that no one could change Jinhwan's ideals. Not even him.

"One day, being greedy and hungry for power will get you into trouble," InGuk said to him one day. "You're lucky now being born into wealth and power but if you try to fly too high, you'll eventually lose your way and fall."

"..." Jinhwan didn't respond to those words at that time.

That was the last time the two met before InGuk decided to move to the countryside with his grandfather for an easier life.

InGuk spent his time going to college and working in the countryside before his grandfather finally passed away several years later. When his grandfather passed away, InGuk decided to change his studies to become a police officer because both his father and grandfather were law enforcers too. It only felt right for him to do the same. He studied hard in the academy and always came up top in his class. He started out as an officer in the suburbs but thanks to his efforts, he got promoted quickly and was eventually transferred back to Seoul.

The years he spent away from Seoul didn't feel long but the world changed so quickly. The economy of South Korea was booming and things were changing in the cities. The rich and famous were becoming more affluent and he was well aware of how much society has changed. And the one name that consistently popped up on the news was the name Lee Jinhwan.

He probably forgot about me already, InGuk thought as he watched the news.

InGuk was well aware of Lee Jinhwan entering the Lee Corporation, the company that his father founded. And he was also aware that the Lee family was far from white. He had always paid attention to what was happening around the Lee Corporation. First it was Lee Jinhwan taking over the company, then getting married to a commoner and having one son after another. Even though InGuk didn't want to pay attention to what was happening to Jinhwan, it seems like he couldn't escape.

Because deep down inside, he was worried that one day, to his fear, that he might have to arrest Lee Jinhwan who was once his friend.

"I'm sure you know why you're here, so I'll get to the point," InGuk continued the interrogation. "Why do you think that your name was on the list? Bribing and paying for murder, did you do it?"

InGuk took out the files he had at hand
