It was getting late but the evening was restless.

Hongbin went back to his apartment after the phone call with Wonshik and when he got out of the elevator, he saw Taekwoon standing in front of the door.

"Why aren't you going in?" Hongbin asked.

"I was about to," Taekwoon looked anxious for some reason.

"I don't blame you," Hongbin said and patted him on the shoulder. "C'mon let's go."

The two of them took a deep breath simultaneously and went inside. Wonshik was already sitting in the living room waiting for them.

The coffee table was piled up with files and papers scattered across the carpet.

"Seems like you were busy," Hongbin commented and took a seat next to Wonshik. "So, what did you guys find?"

"Take a look at this?" Wonshik turned the laptop towards the two and opened up the file he was looking at earlier. "I found this USB from Cha Yoojae's cell. He's been keeping an eye on Cha Hakyeon as we expected."

"So he really did know where Hakyeon was living all this time," Hongbin said as he glanced at Taekwoon as well, who seemed quite complex looking at all the photos that were taken secretly of Cha Hakyeon.

"That's not all," Wonshik continued. "Cha Yoojae was one of the executive managers and also Lee ChangIn's personal assistant."

"What?" both Hongbin and Taekwoon were astonished as Wonshik showed them the picture he found in one of the photos.

"I did some digging after I found this. Nothing was erased in the past. I looked up other past photos of Lee ChangIn after the founding of Lee Corporations and it seems like Cha Yoojae was recruited personally by the man himself. You can see that no matter where Lee ChangIn went, Cha Yoojae followed."

Wonshik showed them article clippings of charity events, business headlines from the Lee Corporation and a variety of other news with Lee ChangIn's name on it. Some photos had Cha Yoojae in the background while others, Cha Yoojae were in the mix.

But no one would've recognized Cha Yoojae if they weren't deliberately looking for him.

"Wow, he's all dressed up, clean-shaved and everything!" Hongbin commented. Even he couldn't recognize the man.

"What happened to him?" Taekwoon finally spoke.

"He was terminated due to embezzlement allegations from the company," Wonshik showed them an article he found specifically. There was no mention of Cha Yoojae's name in the article but the headlines were a dead giveaway.

"Embezzlement and company turnover... is it the end of Lee Corporation?" Hongbin read out loud.

The article stated that a whistleblower from within the company accused and found evidence of embezzlement done by one of the top executive managers. Millions of dollars were taken from the company, causing the company to go into an uproar and possibly the cause of Lee ChangIn's early retirement.

"Betrayed by his own..." Taekwoon also muttered. "This is talking about Cha Yoojae and Lee ChangIn, right?"

"No doubt about it. It seems that Lee ChangIn brought Cha Yoojae into the company as his right-hand man even though Cha Yoojae didn't come from an economic or business background. No one knew why Cha Yoojae was hired but he was always by Lee ChangIn's side."

Wonshik also showed them the photo of the social gathering with Park WuKyung in it.

"Did Lee ChangIn fire him?" Taekwoon asked.

"No. He retired before Cha Yoojae was terminated. The ones who fired him are - Lee ChangIn's youngest son, Lee Jinhwan."

"My uncle did?" Hongbin asked.

"Lee Jinhwan and Lee Bora immediately took over the company after a vote of the majority from the board, forcing Lee ChangIn to leave involuntarily. From the news articles, however, the wording seems that Lee Jinhwan was doing this as a favour to his father because there were rumours of Lee ChangIn's health deteriorating. After he fired Cha Yoojae, the headlines also wrote that the son of Lee Corporation got rid of a backstabber for the company."

"Then...the reason why Cha Yoojae lost everything overnight," Taekwoon gulped as he digested the headlines.

"Do you think Cha Yoojae really did it though?" Hongbin asked them. "Do you think he really embezzled from the company and did whatever shitty things mentioned in this article? No matter how I read this, it's a very one-sided argument. What was Lee ChangIn doing at that time?"

"If Cha Yoojae did do all those things, Lee ChangIn would've probably felt really betrayed and left him. But we don't know for sure," Wonshik said. "But the thing about Lee ChangIn's deteriorating health caused him to leave the company is suspicious. I found news on him leaving the country not too long after and continued his travelling around the world while cutting all ties with those he knew. It wasn't until a few years later he came back quietly but with no intention of taking over the company again."

"Then, I have a question," Taekwoon said. "The world was already against him, no one bothered to help him or anything, right? Then how did Cha Yoojae get someone to help him keep an eye on Cha Hakyeon all these years? Was someone secretly trying to help him?"

"Do these photos look like they're trying to help Cha Yoojae?" Wonshik asked.

They didn't.

In fact, no matter how they saw it, these photos looked as if they wanted to blackmail Cha Yoojae.

"Cha Yoojae killed his wife, abused his son and went into prison. No family and no friends. No money and no fame. Even Lee ChangIn who helped him get the job was away from the country at the time he was accused. Why would anyone help Cha Yoojae and why would Cha Yoojae care at all about his son?"

"Someone was trying to use Cha Hakyeon against Cha Yoojae..." Taekwoon said.

"That's the only way I can see these photos," Wonshik frowned as he looked at them again and again.

"But who and why?" Hongbin asked.

"Maybe Cha Yoojae knew too much. The things he shouldn't have when he was working at Lee Corporation," Wonshik pointed out. "He got close to many rich and powerful people being Lee ChangIn's right-hand man. There's no doubt he knows a thing or two he shouldn't have at that point."

"Do you think..." Taekwoon hesitated for a moment. "It has something to do with the Apostles?"

"That's what I'm thinking. We've been thinking about it now that the first generation of the Apostles was led by the older generation, in this case, Park WuKyung and Lee ChangIn's generation. If they were the founding generation, and if Cha Yoojae was Lee ChangIn's personal assistant..."

"He knows about the Apostles," Taekwoon suggested. "Or better yet, he might have been a part of it."

The atmosphere in the room was heavy.

"Would it have been that Lee ChangIn sent someone to blackmail Cha Yoojae then?" Taekwoon broke the silence. "He got fired and accused of embezzlement, right? What if the allegations were to cover up something bigger, something he shouldn't have known?"

"But how would Lee ChangIn benefit from blackmailing the man he hired personally? And if Cha Yoojae was really a part of the Apostles, wouldn't it make sense that it was Lee ChangIn who invited him inside the organization?" Wonshik said.

"Maybe Cha Yoojae really did betray Lee ChangIn or the first generation's intentions were not as pure as we thought and Cha Yoojae found out."

"Or..." Hongbin spoke. "It was because my aunt and uncle wanted to overthrow everyone in the first generation, including Lee ChangIn and Cha Yoojae."

Hongbin looked up at his partners. His hands were clenched nervously as he looked at all the news articles and photos on the table. His mind was all over the place looking at everything.

"My uncle was the one who took over the company and fired Cha Yoojae after Lee ChangIn, my grandfather, got kicked out of the company. There's almost no doubt that my grandfather has some sort of involvement with the first generation of the Apostles and I believe that Cha Yoojae is a part of it too. And we also know that there was a second generation of the Apostles that emerged soon after, causing internal conflicts between the first and second generations. If we assume that my uncle and aunt were a part of the second generation, then everything would make sense."

"Then, you think the one blackmailing Cha Yoojae with these photos was... the second generation of the Apostles?" Taekwoon asked. "But didn't they also adopt Cha Hakyeon because of your cousin?"

"I've thought a lot about it and I've always found it weird. Why would they jeopardize their own reputation by bringing in a kid with no background and an orphan, to begin with? At first, I did believe it might have something to do with Jaehwan and maybe it was to save their own reputation, acting charitable. But they could have done other things to redeem themselves, couldn't they? They didn't need to take in another unknown kid, right?" Hongbin said. "But the more I keep looking at these articles, and now knowing about Cha Yoojae's background, I cannot believe this is pure coincidence that my aunt and uncle adopted Cha Hakyeon."

"Cha Yoojae knows something about them, something they shouldn't have... and they're using Cha Hakyeon as a bargaining chip," Wonshik groaned just thinking about it.

"What could be so bad that Cha Yoojae knows to make the Lee family unreluctantly take in his son, though? And couldn't they just hire someone to kill Cha Yoojae or something?" Taekwoon asked.

"Maybe they weren't sure where Cha Yoojae was hiding the evidence and if they killed Cha Yoojae, whatever they were looking for might be in the hands of someone else, who can reveal it the moment Cha Yoojae dies. Because they didn't know where to look, they were hesitant to take a step further," Wonshik thought. "And whatever they are looking for might just be in this USB..."

A password-protected file, now in the hands of the police. As if everything has come in a full circle.

"Should we ask Sungjae? It shouldn't be a problem for him to get this opened," Hongbin suggested.

"I thought about it but how many more people can we drag into this when we're not even sure who we can trust or not," Wonshik was concerned. The more people know about this whole ordeal, the more complicated things might get. And after what happened with Eunji, he no longer knows who to trust and who not to.

"But we don't know anyone else who's better at this kind of thing than Sungjae."

"I agree with Hongbin, it might be best to ask Sungjae. There's only so much we can do on our own at this point. If we ask Sungjae, we might even be able to dig up whatever else the Apostles are hiding. We need a computer expert for this job," Taekwoon said.

Wonshik thought about it for a moment.

"Let me think about it," he told them. "He is helping us on looking for Lee Jaehwan and Cha Hakyeon, so we'll see. That's right, Hongbin-ah, what did you find at your uncle's place?"

Hongbin, who almost forgot about it all, suddenly took a deep sigh.

"I think Jaehwan is a part of the Apostles. Or should I say, he might be the current K," Hongbin told them.

"The current, what do you mean?" Taekwoon asked.

"We were never sure exactly who K might be before, right? And we also thought that K could be Lee ChangIn but now, I'm sure that K was my grandfather and Jaehwan has inherited that name after my grandfather passed away."

"How did you find out?" Wonshik also asked.

"I asked their butler, who's been with the family since the first generation. It seems like he has no idea about the organization but he knows more than enough about some of the things that go on in that house," Hongbin continued.

"Can I ask you something?" Hongbin rushed downstairs to look for the butler after finding the sketchbook in Jaehwan's room.

"What is it, Master Hongbin?" the old butler asked.

"Did Jaehwan ever continue drawing after what happened with aunt and uncle? I remember he used to love drawing a lot so I thought it's a shame that he couldn't do it anymore," Hongbin tried to ask carefully.

The butler looked around to make sure no one was around since the topic was very sensitive in the household.

"The young master never stopped drawing," he said whisperingly. "Master Jaehwan always tried to look for ways to continue drawing even after his sketchbooks were torn apart and drawing supplies were thrown away. Maybe you've heard about that one time when Master Jaehwan ran away from home after having a fight with his father, but that time we all thought that the young master would finally give up."

"He didn't?"

"Actually, he was really going to but the grandmaster stopped him."

"Wait, you mean my grandfather?"

"Mhmm. When was it again? I think it was around the time the young master stopped going to the playgrounds after school and was very sad when he couldn't draw anymore. He shut himself in his room and wouldn't listen to anyone during that time. But one day, the grandmaster came to visit and took Master Jaehwan somewhere."

"Do you know where?"

"Yes, I specifically drove them there that day. It was actually one of the art galleries that the grandmaster founded as a charity project. Aside from the art gallery though, the grandmaster also taught art to children on the weekends."

"Wait, other children?" Hongbin was starting to notice a pattern.

"Yes. The grandmaster has always loved art himself aside from being a businessman but he's always wished to help lost children find inspiration in their life. So, he's done a lot of charity work and even helped send money to many of the orphanages around the world. I remember there were many kids at the art lessons that the grandmaster gave out. He told them stories, listened to their stories, and I think the young master made many friends there too. I wonder what happened to all those children though."

"You mean, Jaehwan doesn't keep in contact with them anymore?"

"Well, Master Jaehwan didn't stay there long. He only secretly went there whenever the grandmaster took him out. If he went alone, his parents would definitely get suspicious so he had to do it in secret. And..." the butler hesitated.

"And what?"

"The young master didn't need to go there anymore after Master Hakyeon was taken in."

Cha Hakyeon filled in the void that was inside of Jaehwan at that time... so there was no longer a reason for Jaehwan to go to that place?

"I looked into that art gallery and art lessons the butler mentioned and found more than I needed to know," Hongbin grabbed a piece of paper from his jacket pocket.

It was a printed page of a website for the gallery.

"When my grandfather opened the art gallery, he had other intentions of making it a place for kids to gather. Or more specifically lost children," Hongbin pointed out.

"Is this the same art gallery that Park WuKyung was involved in?" Taekwoon asked.

"It's one of them. They co-founded several charity businesses together with a few other partners but this one, in particular, was the one that Jaehwan went to," Hongbin took over the laptop and looked up the old website of the art gallery.

"These pictures... These were all the children from the art lessons?" Wonshik asked.

"Mhmm. And look at this," Hongbin clicked one of the pictures and pointed at one of the shorter kids. "This is Jaehwan."

Next to an eight-year-old Jaehwan was the grandmaster of the Lee family, Lee ChangIn.

"Wait," Wonshik noticed someone else in the picture. "Isn't this... Eunji?"

"Yeah. The art lessons were also given out to children at the orphanages but it's not just her, look at the other children in the picture. Do you notice anything?" Hongbin asked.

It took them a few minutes but they did notice something rather 'off' about the children's clothes.

"Some of them are wearing school uniforms from prestigious elementary schools, or expensive-looking clothes. Others were the complete opposite, casual clothes in the mix?" Taekwoon thought it was strange too.

"Exactly. These art lessons didn't differentiate between rich or poor but rather, lost children no matter what their background is."

"But what do you mean by lost children?" Wonshik asked in confusion.

"I asked the butler that too when he told me. He said that my grandfather's definition of lost was simply any person who had nowhere to go, it could be a home or even in life. They could be lost because they didn't know what to do or how to feel. These children who attended these art lessons had this one concept in common, which is also why he brought Jaehwan there," Hongbin continued. "Cha Hakyeon was sent to an orphanage after his mother was killed and Cha Yoojae was sent to prison. That was the reason why Jaehwan stopped going to the playground. At the same time, he argued and fought with my uncle several times over drawing. Jaehwan was very broken and lost at that time, he refused to talk to anyone. He didn't even talk to Jaeho because he knew that his brother would try to persuade him to listen to their father. But the grandmaster was different and has always adored Jaehwan. I think that's why he took Jaehwan to this place where children who were similar to him gathered."

"But wait, you mentioned that the current K is Jaehwan, how do you know?" Taekwoon remembers.

"That I also found out from the butler. My grandfather was an art student when he was young before he became a businessman. But rather than signing his artwork with his name, he used the letter K," Hongbin showed them some of the old artwork from Lee ChangIn long ago but could still be found on the internet. "K was for Khronos, the God of Time. My grandfather cherishes time a lot and values every given minute or second he can get from this world to do something greater for the good. He never wasted time doing something he didn't want to, and strive to do all that he desired. So, K became his alias."

"And when he passed away, the name was inherited by Lee Jaehwan..." Taekwoon muttered.

"Exactly. Not only that, but take a look at the rest of the kids in this picture. Do you recognize anyone else?" Hongbin asked.

Wonshik and Taekwoon took a closer look. But all were too young for them to really notice until Hongbin pointed it out.

"The one on the far left is Lee Minhyuk and on the other side is Jung Ilhoon," Hongbin told them.

"What?" Wonshik was shocked.

They took a closer look at the boys and did see some resemblance. So, in this single photo not only was there Lee ChangIn and Park WuKyung from the first generation of the Apostles but also the children of the third and current "Neo Apostles".

"Then... your cousin..." Taekwoon took a glimpse at Hongbin, worried about what kind of expression could be on his face.

"I believe that Jaeho and Jaehwan are both involved with the Apostles at this point. I'm not sure how but I also think that Jaehwan's possibility of being K is very high. At first, I thought that Jaeho had some kind of involvement with being K but the Jaeho I know doesn't have any artistic abilities. On top of that, the current Apostles involve Lee Minhyuk and Jung Ilhoon, and if we think about all the other members we've encountered before, they're all very close in terms of age. The only one who fits this and also looking at this photo, I think K is Jaehwa," Hongbin expressed his deductions.

"But do you
