Fixing the twisted strap on your dress you dusted off the small amounts of lint that clung itself onto the fabric.

'He picked this dress out for me'

You immediately shook your head to remove the invading thoughts that had anything to do with him. You weren't entirely sure why you were even going to this stupid school dance. You're best friend somehow persuaded you into going.
~
"(F/n) come on, you need to get out of the house!" (B/F/n) groaned.

"What's the point, it's overrated."

"It's been a year already (F/n), come with me, maybe you'll find a cute guy, who knows."

"Hey! That's not the problem here. I'm over it already, geez!" You dejected.

"Then prove it to me," they crossed their arms and stood over you as you laid lazily across the couch.

"I'll just be a third wheel with you."

"No you won't! You'll have fun I promise! You're going!"
~
You were obviously lying to yourself. Of course you weren't over him. When he left your life, you were left demoralized. You desperately tried leaving it all behind, but he was the only guy you ever truly fell in love with. However, you weren't going to deny the fact that you were starting to get better. So a silly high school dance event shouldn't hurt, right?

'Will he be there? No, stop it (F/n) who cares. It doesn't matter. Not anymore..'

Slipping on your heels you made your way outside of your home and was greeted by (B/f/n).

"Let's go!"

Stepping into the large area, you're nerves started to get to you. You weren't used to going to large events since you weren't the biggest fan of them.

The night wasn't too bad, you mostly fooled around with your best friend and their significant other. You also nearly broke an ankle 'cause you tried to jump around while dancing in your heels.

The loud music died down and the series of slow music soon faded in. You decided to walk off to the side of the dance room so you wouldn't get in the way of all the couples who went to go embrace each other.

'We used to dance like this'

Shifting your weight side to side you followed the flow of the music subconsciously. You smiled at your best friend who mouthed an apology for leaving you alone, but you didn't mind, you were glad they were enjoying themselves.

As you were standing around mindlessly until a warm hand gently grabbed yours, immediately grabbing your attention.

"S-semi?" you jolted a bit. Emotions had hit you like a wave. It almost felt like you were suddenly pulled into a rip tide. "What—"

"Don't say anything, just dance with me," He smiled softly. You were getting better, you were starting to let go. And now your here, back to square one. You loved him, you didn't want to, but you couldn't help yourself.

Without saying another word he lead you into the crowd and like a puzzle piece, your arms rested onto his shoulders and his wrapped around your waist. Time almost felt like it had slowed down. He couldn't seem to stray his gaze away from yours. He missed everything. He missed you.

"Hey," his voice was soft, but sad.

"Hey."

A wash of relief ran throughout his body. He didn't realize how much he needed to hear your voice again. A part of him thought you'd just push him away, but thank god you didn't, it would've broke him for sure.

Moments had passed as you two took in every second dancing with each other.

"You're not her," he set his forehead against yours, "you could never be her."

You furrowed your brows not averting your eyes from his.

"To me, you're more," he stated, "right now, nothing else matters to me more than you do."

Tears welled up in your eyes. The feeling you thought you've forgotten suddenly came tumbling back to you. Just when you thought you've ran out of tears to cry.

Releasing you, he draped his jacked over your head to help you hide the tears that were falling down your face.

"Hey, don't cry, you know I hate it when you cry," he attempted the lighten the mood, "It's stuffy in here, let's go outside."

Leading you outside the cold air met with your face drying up most of your tears.

"(F/n), I'm sorry."

"Semi, I already told you that you didn't have to apologize to me," your voice shook.

"I know but, I took the time to think about it like you said," he's expression fell, "I'm keeping the memories I had with her, but me and her are over. The only person I want to create new memories with is you, I want to be with you. I hated having to pretend that I was alright with being away from you."

"For the entire year we've been apart, I've been thinking about you. Did you actually think I that wanted to be apart from you too?"

"No, I know you all too well," he smiled softly, "I caused you pain. I left you alone when you needed me the most. I realized too late. How pathetic of me to come back to you and ask for your forgiveness. Im so sorry, but allow me to be pathetic one more time, won't you call me Eita once again.."

He held your hands and nuzzled his face into your palms.

"You really did keep me waiting, Eita," you pressed your lips against his.

"(F/n).." The tears that he held in for so long spilled from his eyes. Not wasting a second he kissed you once again. Holding you close to his chest, he kissed the top of your head, "You don't have to wait anymore, I'm right here. I love you (F/n), and only you."

"I love you too."
