"This sucks," you sighed to yourself. You pulled your hood over your face to shield yourself from the rain.

You had an essay to finish and it just so happened that your wifi router stopped working all of the sudden.

"Here's your (Favorite drink)," the barista smiled.

"Thank you."

You scanned the crowded cafe only to realize that getting a free table was far from possible. You're gaze landed on an empty seat nearby the large windows, however a guy around your age occupied the other side of it.

'I'm too socially incapable to ask,' you thought. Shaking your head you grumbled, "Now's not the time to be like this (F/n), I'll finish my essay then I'll leave."

"E-excuse me? Do you mind if I sit here for a bit?"

"I don't mind. Go ahead."

"Thanks, it won't be long," you laughed nervously as you pulled out your laptop from your bag.

"It's pretty crowded in here, isn't it?" He yawned.

'Is this guy seriously trying to strike up a conversation..?'

Not wanting to be rude you lifted your head, "Sure is, probably cause the weather's pretty shitty today."

'Way to go (F/n), make it more awkward why don't you?' you mentally slapped yourself.

"Looks like you had it pretty rough out there. Did you forget an umbrella?" He chuckled staring at your soaked hoodie.

'Is this guy trying to square up to me right now?'

"I wouldn't be this soaked if that weren't the case now would it?" Sarcasm dripped from your tone.

"I don't know, maybe you just really like the rain," he smirked.

"Do you mind if I had your name? I'd like to put you at the top of the page in my death note," you smiled sweetly.

"If it's you, I don't think I'll mind so much. Kuroo Tetsurou. Now I'd like to have your name as well, I think it'll look best in my contact list," he teased.

"Touché. (L/n) (F/n)," you giggled and moved your focus back onto your computer, "you don't have anything to do?"

"Nah, I just wanted to chill out here. Why not go home and do your work over there?"

"I wish I could, but my wifi's busted so I don't really have a choice."

"Not the best of days am I right?"

"Yeah.. could be worst. Not hoping for it though."

~

"It's still pouring," you groaned.

"Well, have a nice cool shower on your way home (L/n)," he mocked while he opened up his own umbrella.

"You're cruel."

"I'm kidding," he tilted the umbrella over your head, "here, you can return it to me later."

"What? I can't take it, you need it," you dejected, "you'll get sick."

"I have a pretty good immune system, besides I don't live very far from here and I walk pretty quickly."

"Well, aren't you a man of gifts."

"Yeah well, I don't think you'd want to be buying a new router plus a new laptop once it gets water damaged."

"Fine. You win. Thanks, I owe you one."

"Could I see your phone? I need to call someone."

"Sure?"

After dialing a number on your device you could hear his ringtone ring from his pocket.

"Thanks, now we have each others numbers," he handed you back your phone while you stared at him dumbfounded.

"Okay, that was pretty slick, I'll admit that," you laughed, "Bye, Kuroo."

"I'm sure we'll see each other very soon, (L/n)."

~

"Hey," you sighed as you sat down in the same seat as you did the day before.

"Wow, sitting with me is like second nature to you already?" Kuroo laughed.

"N-no! Ah! Forget it! I'm going find a different seat. Y-you know, meet different people!" You stuttered, hiding your red face.

"Don't be like that, just sit down. I didn't come here for nothing."

"Why are you here again?"

"To see you."

"Stalker," you took out his umbrella out of your bag, "here, thanks again."

"No problem. I'm surprised you didn't get struck by lightning."

"I wouldn't even be here if that were the case."

"Well it's good that you're safe," he mumbled before turning his head towards the window.

"What?"

"You're hot."

"Woww... Aren't you bold," you snorted.

Chuckling under his breath something caught his eye at the entrance of the cafe, "Oi, Kenma!"

"Kuro," A shorter male walked towards his older friend, "Why are you here?"

"I just wanted to drop by for a little. This is (L/n)."

"Isn't she the one you talked about all lunch—."

"W-woah! We better get going now, right Kenma!" Kuroo rushed to cover his mouth, "See you later, (L/n)!"

"...okay," Kenma raised an eyebrow, "excuse us... Kozume Kenma. You can just call me Kenma."

"W-well, it was nice meeting you Kenma-kun," you waved awkwardly as you watched the taller male usher out the blonde.

~

A couple days have passed, and you always happened to be stuck with the same provocative bed head. You didn't hate it though, surprisingly you two got along well.

"What am I even doing?" You sighed to yourself as you sat on the empty table, "am I waiting for him..? No, of course not, I'm just here like always."

It irritated you by how much you would perk up to see if he had walked through the café door every time the small bell would ring.

Losing hope you pulled out your phone and scrolled through social media.

"Did I keep you waiting?" A familiar voice teased over you.

"Kuroo! I didn't think you'd be here... Actually never mind, it's just a coincidence."

"Awe how sweet, did you think I'd ditch you?" He plopped himself in the usual seat in front of you.

"No," you denied, hiding your face in your phone, "I'd feel bad for your date, showing up fashionably late and everything. Leaving someone waiting only makes them feel insecure you know."

"Alright, alright, no need to scold me. I showed up on time for all our other dates though."

"S-shut up! Those were hardly dates. It just so happened we keep running into each other."

"If it weren't for your poor internet connection you wouldn't have found a better one," he laughed.

"What do you mean?"

"A connection between me and you," he poked your forehead playfully.

"You're always saying something embarrassing," you blushed, "GOSH, okay I'm going out."

"Wait for me!~"

"It's pretty chilly outside," you crossed your arms to cover your bare arms.

"Hey (L/n)."

"Hm?"

"Let's go on a date."

"C-Come on! That's not something you joke about you big idiot!"

"No, I'm serious. Let's go on a date, an actual one now."

"You're crazy."

"Possibly, but that doesn't change my mind, and if you refuse I'll keep asking."

"You don't give me a lot of options here," you huffed in defeat, "alright, but let's not go to this café."

"That's a given, okay I'll text you later," Kuroo smiled softly, draping his jacket over your shoulders after patting your head gently, "get home safely, (F/n)."

"Y-you don't have to—!"

"Nope, see you!"

"Just where does this guy get this confidence," you giggled.

Little did you know, Kuroo was a literal blushing mess on his way back home.

"You look drunk, Kuro," Kenma deadpanned.

"I'm not!"
