Ella's point of view

Days had passed since I last saw Hade's and I tried to much avail to get him out of my head. I had met Camila and Davies that evening and had spent hours at the local café chatting away about their weekend. When they questioned me about how my week had gone, I was hesitant to tell them about the mysterious man I had met at the club and again at the café earlier that week. I eventually spilled the beans and spent about 30 minutes telling them all about our encounter.

I left out the part about my weird thoughts about the strange man. I also didn't give them much of a description of what he looked like. When they questioned where he came from, I didn't quite have an answer. I mean, we never really got to that part, all I really knew was his name and the fact that he was new in town. So that's what I told them.

My answer didn't satisfy their eager minds, they wanted to know more about this man I had met. I remember sighing, knowing that I had to tell them more about him. So that's what I did, I sat there and spoke all about what he looked like.

I told them all about his dark blue eyes and how if you looked into them long enough it was hypnotizing. How when he looked at you, you felt special, like the world revolved around you. I told them about how he was godlike, how he was taller then the average man and built to perfection. I told them about how black his hair was. How it was dark like obsidian and was always neatly combed back. I told them about both encounters with him and how he seemed kind and understanding, how he was interested in what I did for a living. Something most people would have laughed at.

I told them all of this, while they sat patiently and waited for me to finish. After a while I realized how I was the only one talking and had completely gone on about some man I had only just met. I blushed deeply and scolded myself internally for getting carried away.

When I looked up Camila and Davies had a smile on their faces which only confused me. This brings us to where we are now. Me sitting sheepishly in front of my two friends after going off on a tangent.

"You're like a love stricken puppy El." Camila said with a smile on her face.

"A love sick puppy who doesn't even realize they are in love." Davies added, him too with a wide smile plastered across his face.

Love? No, that wasn't what I felt for this man. Sure, I felt attracted to him, but who wouldn't? I mean he truly was godlike.

"I don't love him." I blurted out, my eyes wide.

They both laughed at me and Camila replied with a "Sure you don't."

"Camila don't be daft, I can't love someone I've only just met. I don't even know anything about him."

"You know enough to spend the last hour talking about this man to us." Her eyes now held a knowing look, her gaze was sharp as she looked at me.

"That doesn't mean I love him." I defended.

Had I really just spent an hour talking to them about him?

"Maybe it doesn't, maybe it does, only you're the one that knows how you feel." Davies smiled.

"I don't love him." I said quietly, they both smiled at me and nodded their heads. Yet their eyes told me they didn't believe me.

For the rest of the night we chatted and enjoyed the food and each others company. Before long it was late and we all went our own ways. Camila and Davies both lived in the opposite direction to what I did. They lived about two blocks away to the north while I lived about 3 blocks to the South. So while they wandered off into the night I too made my way home in the other direction.

It wasn't too late, only nine pm. The streets were illuminated by the gentle light of the moon and the street lamps that lined the road. The area I lived in was near the centre of town so there was always a lot of people walking around. It was a safe place to live in and I had never felt nervous walking home before.

Yet tonight was different. Sure there were people all around me, the sidewalks were filled with people laughing and talking, but I felt uneasy. It was as if someone was watching me, their eyes burning a hole into the back of my head. Every time I turned around I saw nothing or no one out of place. The people around me seemed oblivious to what was happening. It was like I was the only one that sensed something off.

When I was a block away from home I began to pick up the pace a bit, still feeling a pair of eyes on the back of my head. To say I was scared would be an understatement. There was a feeling in the pit of my stomach that told me something was wrong, very wrong.

As I rounded the final corner I couldn't help but steal a glance behind me. There, in the darkness of the night, was a shadow. A shadow that seemed to represent the shape of a man, but at the same time it didn't seem human.

With that thought a chill ran down my spine and I couldn't help the shiver that passed through my body. Without wasting a second I turned and hurried down the road. My house was in view now, just a little bit more to go.

By the time I reached the front door I was well aware of the presence just two houses down the street. I had reached for my keys when I first felt the pair of eyes watching me, so I was ready when I reached the front door.

I didn't fumble around, I unlocked the door quickly, yet as I was about to hurry in and phone the police, something stopped me. The fear was gone. The nagging feeling in my stomach that had me running for the hills was gone, yet I still felt the pair of eyes on me.

Slowly I turned around, the shadow was still there, just a house away now. It stood unmoving, simply watching me from afar. Neither one of us dared to move, we stood silently in the darkness of the night.

At this point I was having an internal battle with myself, my brain was telling me that I should run and hide away from this stranger that had followed me home, but my legs refused to budge. They stayed glued to the floor, my gut on the other hand told me that I was not in any danger.

I still could not see the face of the mysterious shadow, for he lingered in the darkness which was not illuminated by the street lamps.

After straining my eyes for a few minutes trying to see his face, he stepped out of the darkness. He stunned me for a moment, for his eyes shone brightly in the dim light. They were green, I was sure of it. A dark emerald green, darker than any overgrown forest I had every seen. As he approached, my feet stayed rooted in the ground. It seemed like there was an invisible force willing me to stay.

The closer he got, the more of him I could see. He was only a few feet away now, his slow strides teased me. He was the lion and I was the prey. Up close, he truly was a handsome man. His eyes went well with his dark, rich brown hair and his bone structure was defined.

However, there was something about him that put me off, something made him ugly. None of his physical features made him ugly, but something told me his soul was dark and twisted.

"What do you want?" I managed to speak out.

He laughed at my question, the sound drifting off into the otherwise peaceful night.

"You my sweet Ella, will soon find out that answer." He smirked.

The look on his face made be feel queasy, I couldn't help but scrunch my nose up in disgust.

Before I could ask him what he meant by that he interrupted. "Don't stress your pretty head about it, just make sure to get the message through that humans like you should be protected. Kronos wont let you go next time."

Now I was completely confused, "Get the message through to who? And who is this Kronos person? And who are you?" I questioned. He knew my name, but I was certain I had never met him before.

Once again he laughed at me, nothing was amusing though. "I'm Theseus, but many call me Theo." He smiled, yet it seemed cold and forced.

He once again interrupted me by saying, "Sleep now dear Ella, Hades knows exactly what I mean."

Hades? What does Hades have to do with this? Was he a friend with Theo? Before I could question Theo, he took a step towards me and blew something in my direction.

Soon enough the world faded away into darkness.
