"Y/n?" Two Bit called out from the living-room.

"Yes?" Y/n said as she walked into the room balancing her sick daughter on her hip. She had the flu for the past four days, and y/n had taken 'keep an eye on her' very literally. Being a first time mother to a 10 month old girl, she was very cautious about everything.

"Have you seen my shoes?" Two Bit was stumped. He couldn't find his shoes for the life of him, and was about to be late for work. Two Bit had a job at the local elementary school and was going to be late if he couldn't find his shoes.

"They're in your hand goofball." Y/n walked over to Two Bit laughing and handed him his car keys as well.

"Say bye bye to daddy Daisy!"

"Bye Daddy!" She said in the voice of an infant who was learning to talk still.

"By sweetheart." Two Bit said smiling and kissed her head. "Her temperature feels a little higher."

"What? Really? Do you think we should call the doctor or what? Is it really bad?" Y/n asked with worry laced in her voice, not realized Two Bit was laughing at her.

"It's fine, I love you." Two Bit kisses y/n on the forehead as well before running to his car and driving away in a hurried fashion.

"Come on Daisy, do you want some breakfast? That always makes me feel better." Y/n put Daisy in her high chair and didn't move until she knew she was safe. She turned around and got a jar of baby food, thinking it would be better than solids since she was sick.

"Ok Daisy, how does strawberries and raspberries sound?" Y/n turned around and dropped the jar, but hardly noticed. Daisy's head was leaning back and her arms and legs were over-relaxed and limp. Her neck was the same way, but her eyes were rolled in the back of her head.

"Daisy?! What on earth?!?" Y/n rushed to take her out of her high chair and ran to the table where she grabbed the car keys and drove to the hospital. Y/n held her in her lap instead of the backseat or of fear something would happen to her, as if letting go of her would make everything worse. Y/n was sobbing to the point where she could hardly see the road but made it to the hospital safely enough. She had a tight grip on Daisy as she ran into the building. The lady at the front desk had a look of shock on her face but got up but paged several doctors. They came running out with one of those beds on wheels and placed her on it, not letting y/n follow, much to her disagreement.

"I-I just turned around and-and she wasn't responding and I d-don't know what's w-wrong-"
Y/n choked out between sobs.

"Mam, I assure you we'll be doing everything we can for your daughter. What's her name?"

"D-Daisy Mathews." Y/n sniffled.

"I take it you're her mother?" She asked gently, to which y/n only nodded.

"Would you like to call anyone?" Y/n nodded and walked over to the pay phone and dialed the school Two Bt worked at.

"Two Bit?"

"Y/n? What's wrong?"

"It-It's Daisy." Y/n only broke into tears, thinking of her daughter, thinking she was dying.

"Y/n? What about Daisy? Y/n take a deep breath and tell me what's going on. Do I need to come home?"

"Would you like me to talk to him?" The receptionist asked politely, seeing y/n'a distressed state. To which y/n only nodded again.

"Sir your wife came in a moment ago with your daughter. She was unresponsive and her temperature was very high. It would be best if you came as soon as possible. I assure you though, we are doing everything we can for your daughter."

Two Bit was speechless. He was unaware of everything he did, like a puppet of sorts. He told his boss he had to go, his daughter was in the hospital and drove as fast as he could, almost in a daze. All he could think was: his daughter was going to die.
