You were walking home from school when you heard someone walking behind you. You turned to see your boyfriend Steve Randle.
"Hey Kalee."
He came and wrapped his arm around your shoulder. You smiled but quickly shoved it off.
"What's wrong?"
"Someone might see us."
You had been dating for several months now, but neither of you had told anyone.
"Ok. But I'm still gonna hold your hand."
His hand fit perfectly in yours, like a puzzle piece. You couldn't wipe the smile off your face as you walked with Steve.
"Are you free tonight?" He asked.
"Yep."
"Wanna do something?"
"Of course, what kind of question is that?"
He laughed and smiled down at you, and kissed the top of your forehead.
"So what did you have in mind?"
"It's a surprise."
You rolled your eyes but still smiled. You reached your house and turned to face Steve.
"I'll meet you at the park?"
"Seven o'clock."
He looked around to make sure no one was looking and pecked you on the cheek.
"I'll see you later."
You smiled and walked in your house. Your dad was passed out on the floor so you stepped around him and went to your room. You were in a hurry since you didn't want to be there when he woke up. You changed into a white blouse and left your hair down. You heard the door open and close slowly. You stuck your head out the door of your bedroom and saw Johnny coming in.
"Hiya Kalee. And where are you going?"
"Out."
He rolled his eyes and let you leave. You walked to the park and sat down on the swings. It was nearly seven when you felt someone push you on the swings. You smiled since you knew who it was.
"Well you look beautiful as always doll."
Steve stopped the swing and put his chin on your shoulder. He hugged you and you leaned into him.
"So what did you have in mind?"
"You'll see."
He grabbed your hand and led you to his car. While he drove, you both sat in a comfortable silence. You were thinking about him and why you care about him, all the while you were looking at his muscles. You didn't notice you were since you weren't thinking about it to much, but he noticed and flexed. You laughed a little but felt your ears getting hot. You looked at the road for the rest of the car ride though. He pulled into the drive in and you smiled. Your favorite movie was showing, and you were touched at how he remembered. It was Christmas time so the nightly double was semi decorated also.
"Steve this is incredible."
"I was hoping you'd like it." You looked at him and smiled.
"I love it, and I love you to." He smiled from ear to ear, which made you breath a little easier. Neither of you had said it yet but you knew it with all your might.
"I love you to." You smiled widely, and leaned in to kiss him. He met you half way and put an arm around your shoulder.
"Hey look, it's Steve's car! Wonder what he's doing here." You broke apart but Soda still saw you. He doubled over laughing and called everyone over. You blushed furiously and scooted away from Steve a little.
They kept making jokes about you two but Johnny looked upset. You got out and walked around to where Johnny was. You pulled him to the side and opened your mouth to talk but he beat you to it.
"How long?"
"Excuse me?"
"How long have you been dating Steve?"
You looked down and replied sheepishly,
"Several months."
"And you didn't tell any of us?"
"Well you saw how much everyone was teasing us, we just didn't want that to happen. Plus I was afraid you wouldn't like me dating Steve."
"Kalee, as long as your happy I can't tell you what to do and what not to do."
"So your ok with it?" You asked hopefully.
"Yah I guess."
"Thank you Johnny!" You practically jumped on him hugging him, which made him laugh and hug back. You both walked back over to the gang and their jokes.
"Alright, alright, we get it. Now will you guys just shut up?" Steve retorted.
"Nope!" Two Bit replied.
You rolled your eyes at him but left to sit next to Steve again. He grabbed your hand behind his back and stroked it.
"Aww, now aren't you two just the cutest little thing?" Soda joked.
"How long have y'all been a thing?" Pony asked.
"Yah how long have you been keeping it a secret?" Two Bit said.
"About six 1/2 months." Steve replied.
Soda's eyes got huge.
"And you never even told me?" He pretended to be hurt and held his hand to his heart.
"Oh you'll get over it. Let's leave the love birds to their date." Two-Bit said.
They all left you and Steve to yourselves, but there was something relaxing about everyone knowing now. At least you didn't have to hide it anymore.
Steve out his arm around your waist and you rested your head on his shoulder. It was getting pretty cold, and you started to shiver. He gave you his jacket (as cliche as it sounds), and you snuggled into him. You slowly drifted off to sleep, but before you let it entirely take you, you heard Steve say to himself,
"She's so perfect. What did I do to deserve her?"
