"Mooooom I really don't want to go to school. Can't I just be homeschooled?" I asked for the millionth time that morning.

"No sweetheart. Now I know it's hard moving from school to school but that's not gonna happen so get in the car and I'll drive you if you want." She offered.

"No thanks I'll just walk." I rolled my eyes and left for school. When I got there I had no idea where to go. I found the office eventually and asked where my first class was.

"Ponyboy come over here." The lady called. A boy about my age with light brown hair and greenish grey eyes came over looking bored. He looked pretty cute.

"Ponyboy I want you to show Francesca to her classes. She conveniently has almost the exact same schedule.

"Sure." I smiled at him and he gave me a shy smile in return. He walked out of the office and I followed him.

"Are you new in town? I haven't seen you around before." He asked.

"Yah I just moved. I have to move a lot though cause of my dad's job. My parents said we won't move again till after I graduate but it's not the first time they've said that either."

"Sorry. Maybe I could show you around some time so you'll know where to go while you're still here?" He asked and smiled. Oh. My. Word. That boys smile drove me crazy.

"Yeah that'd be nice, thanks." I smiled back and his smile got bigger if that was even possible.

*time skip*

I was standing outside of school and watched other people leave. My cousin had just told me she couldn't give me a ride and I had no idea which way my house was. I was trying to think of something to do when I felt two hands cover my eyes. I jumped up but relaxed when I heard familiar laughing.

"Hey Francesca."

"Hey Ponyboy."

"What're you doing out here alone?"

"My cousin was going to give me a ride home but she just told me she had more important things to do."

"Well if you're not busy right now, would you want to come over and start that English project?"

"Ok. Could I call my parents when I get to your house so they don't freak out?" I asked, somewhat nervous to go to a boys house."

"Yeah of course. Come on, my house is this way. Were you going to go out for any sports while your here?" He asked, trying to make small talk.

"No, but I saw something about an auto mechanic club. Do you know anything about it?"

"My brother was in it I think, I could ask him but I don't know much about it off the top of my head. You didn't strike me as the kind of person who'd know how to use a wrench." He said win a joking tone.

"Yeah, before we moved to Tulsa I worked in a little mechanics shop in Fresno." I smiled sadly, thinking of my short, yet good, memories.

"What other classes do you have? Mrs. Bates said we had most of our classes together, but I noticed we didn't have the same class fifth period."

"Advanced physics. You?"

"World history. I take it you like science also?"

"I love it, and I'm ten times better at it than English. I still like to read though, just not necessarily in school."

"Well here we are, home sweet home." Ponyboy said as we walked up to a small home with paint chipped off the sides and a few shingles missing from the roof. The yard was littered with weeds and a few beer bottles, surrounded by a fence that couldn't keep out hardly anything. He opened the gate and walked to the porch then up the steps with me and opened the screen door and I opened the inner door.

"Anyone here?" Ponyboy called out loudly, clearly heard over the slamming door. There was no need though, for there was no response.

"Come on, let's go to the kitchen. You can call your parents and we can work on the project in there."

I followed him into the kitchen to see a room as well put together as the rest of the house. I giggled when I saw a fish, about four inches long on a plaque on the wall.

"We named him Chocolate, cause that seemed like a good idea when I was seven." I smiled and walked to the phone to call my mom. Once I did I sat down at the table where Ponyboy had gotten some of his books laid out already. Something else I noticed was a smaller, thicker book hidden under his school books.

"Gone With the Wind?" I asked with a surprised smile.

"Yeah, it's one of my favorites." He said with a small smile before looking down again at his notes.

"Mine to!" I said excitedly. It wasn't often when I found someone with common interests. Ponyboy was actually a pretty cool guy. We talked about Gone With the Wind for a while, though it passed right by.

"Have you seen that sketch on The Carol Burnett Show? Went With the Wind?" Pony asked.

"Have I! It's my favorite scene!"

"Why, I saw it in the wind'a and I just had to have it!" Pony said in his best Carol Burnett voice. I laughed so hard I snorted. My face turned bright red and I ducked down pulling my long blonde hair into my face as to hide myself from my embarrassment.

"Hello? Anyone in there?" Ponyboy teased. He leaned in and put his face almost next to mine, but I didn't see because of my hair in my eyes. I threw my head up and had the intention of saying "It's not funny!" but never had the chance. Ponyboy tilted his head so as to try and see under my hair but when I moved my head up, our lips collided. Talk about awkward! I moved away as quickly as I could.

"I'm so sorry Ponyboy! That was a complete accident. I understand we're just friends i get you don't feel that way about me and i don't want to press anything on you ugh I'm such an idiot i wasn't trying to kiss you I'm so so sorry that's not what I was expecting to happen I-"Ponyboy interrupted me before I could further explain myself.

"What is I told you, I liked it?" Pony boy asked with a cocky grin.

"You did?" I asked in disbelief.

"So much so, that I was wondering if you'd like to do it again?" He asked, his grin only growing.

"I'd like that." I leaned in and pressed my lips to his, almost in an awkward way. I don't have much experience with this sort of thing.

"Woah, look at who finally grew a spine! Way to go Pony!" Someone yells from behind us. We both turned to look at his so fast I'm surprised we didn't get whiplash.

"May I help you Two Bit?" Ponyboy said, very annoyed.

"This is that girl you were hanging around with today at school! She your girlfriend or something?" I looked back at Ponyboy to see his response. He shrugged and raised an eyebrow at me. I smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, she is." Ponyboy said cheerfully. His smile didn't leave his face until I kissed it off.
