"Hey y/n!"
You turned around to see your boyfriend running towards you.
"Hello James."
"Is everything ok?"
"Yah everything's fine." Really, nothing was fine. You didn't want to be with James anymore because there was someone else you would rather be with. Ponyboy Curtis. But you couldn't tell him that. He'd kill Ponyboy.
"Why don't you come over to my house tonight? It'll be fun. My parents are going out tonight and you know what that means." He whispered in my ear huskily.
"I don't know. I think I'm just gonna stay home tonight." I replied. He seemed taken back.
"Why not? You used to love coming over to my house. And my parents aren't going to be there so we can do whatever we want."
"I just don't really feel like doing anything tonight. I'm sorry James. Maybe another time."
"Come on. It's no fun staying locked up in your room all night by yourself." Scared he might find out about Pony, you reluctantly agreed.

"I have to do something for my mom but I'll be there after that."
"I can't wait."
Later
You knocked on the door of James house. He opened it up with a dangerous grin. He opened the door wider for me to come in. I followed him inside. It smelt horrible like booze.
"James, have you been drinking?"
"No! Why?" He's definitely drunk.
"James don't lie to me. I know your drunk."
"No, I'm not. Come on." He started walking towards his bed room, but I didn't follow.
"What are youuu doing?" He slurred out.
"I'm not going in there when your drunk."
"I'm not drunk! Now get in here!" He grabbed me by the arm and threw me in his room. My arm already had a bruise forming and my but was sore from landing on it.
I looked up at him, shocked. When he first asked me out he knew my dad was a drunk and promised he would never hurt me. I guess he lied.
He must of realized what he did, because he sobered up real quick.
"Y/N, I swear, I wasn't trying to-" but you didn't hear the rest. You ran past him and out of his house as fast as you could, ignoring him calling after you. You ran to the park, not knowing where else to go. Your dad was probably drunk again, your mom had to work late (which is why you had to do something for her earlier), and all your friends were probably busy.
Since you were all by yourself, you cried. You cried and cried until you couldn't cry anymore.
"Y/N?"
You wiped away your tears quickly and looked up to see who it was. Ponyboy Curtis stood right in front of you. Seeing the tear marks down your face, he got down on his knees to get a closer look at you.
"y/n, what happened?"
You didn't know what else to do besides tell him the truth. So you did. He was surprised that James had done that. He sat next to you and hugged you. You hugged him back. He looked at you with longing in his eyes.
"Y/n, listen. I know you might not want to, since you just left James a few minutes ago, but would you be my girl? I've liked you for the longest time and once I finally got the courage to ask you out I found out you were with James. I understand if you don't want to, but I really like you and I don't want you to slip through my fingers again."
"Ponyboy, I would love to be your girl. I've been wanting to leave James for a while since, well, I've always really liked you better. But I didn't know what he would do to you if I left him, so I never did." His face brightened and I smiled. We stared into each other's eyes, and slowly leant in closer to each other. Until finally, our lips met. Sparks flew! His lips were soft, and it was a rough yet gentle kiss. His hands found their way into my hair and my back, while I put one in his arm and the other on his face. We pulled apart, noses touching, and stared at each other for what felt like forever.
"I could get used to that."he said.
"I could to." You giggled. You meant into his lips again and slept in the lot together that night. James never bothered you again and you and Pony were very happy together.
