"I'm bored~." Elliot groans for the millionth time.

"I can't take this anymore." I say as I stand up and drag Elliot away from the camp.

"Where are you taking me? Aren't you gonna invite Trevor? Oh Ash, I didn't know you were so naughty." I immediately drop his hand. Stop it with the dirty comments already. OH MY GOD.

"First of all someone needs to watch over the camp. Second, I wanna pee and you're bored, so it's a win-win situation." I side-glance at him and see he's just skipping after me. What a child.

"Mkay. Wanna see what I saw earlier?" This time he grabs my hand and drags me after him. He doesn't for long since we arrive in front of a little stream of crystal clear water. It looks mesmerising with the way the sun hits the water.

"Look how pretty it is. But wait, that isn't the fun part. Look." He takes a small rock from the ground and throws it in. Then, about a dozen tiny frogs appear from under the sand and rocks in the stream. They jump around and a second later they're gone again.

"Cool right? I saw this by accident earlier. I just threw a pebble and they scared me." He laughs, remembering what had happened to him.

"Weirdo," I scoff and roll my eyes, "Let's go. I'll pee my pants." I head back and find a decent looking bush. He starts following me too much so I stop, push him back far enough for him not to see anything and say, "Stay put."

"Aw no fair. I wanted to see your dick." He pouts. I widen my eyes in a look of bewilderment. He just smirks back.

"Shoot me if you want and I won't do that." I say and go finish my job. I then circle around the other side of the bush and head back without him. Of course he sees me and runs after.

"Don't get mad Ash. You know I'm just joking." He says from behind me.

"Mhm, yeah. Everything is a joke to you."

"What does that mean?" Oh no. Why did I say that?

"Nothing. Forget it." No, no. I shouldn't have said that either. No, shit.

"Say it Ash. Am I just a joke?" He reaches my arm and turns me around to face him.

"No. Don't take it to heart." He does look hurt. Ash, you do know how to be an idiot sometimes.

"Hah. I always had my doubts about what you thought of me. Maybe you've forgotten but you said this once before. Did you think I took it as a joke?" I remember. A few days after I met him, I told him some harsh words.

"I'm sorry about that. I may have judged a book by its cover." I can't look him in the eye.

"Do you still think that of me?"

"No!" I say a little too loud. "No, I know you're not like that now. I didn't know you well back then." I say honestly.

"I forgive you for it, but just know that even though I joke around a lot, I'm not stupid. I know what I'm doing."

"I really am sorry Elliot. I'd never think that you're stupid, please believe me." Argh, why does my chest hurt? And...my hands are sweating...

He sighs. "I know...don't stress it anymore, okay?" He pulls me in for a hug and taps my back a few times before he lets go.

"Let's go back now, Trevor must miss us." He's back to his normal smiley self. Is it bad that he changes his mood so quickly or is he still hiding his true feelings. I can't let it go just like this. I know that I did something wrong and he's my friend.

"Elliot, wait. I still feel like this isn't finished."

"What?"

"You took my apology so fast and I can see you didn't want to do that. I want you to tell me honestly, did you really forgive me?" He doesn't say anything for a moment but then he just smiles to himself and says, "I do. I forgave you Ash. Don't overthink it, just trust me. I never fake my happiness, know that." He loops his arm through mine and we walk back to camp.
