- - - - THE SURFACE OF THE MOON - - - -

    In the year 2005, on the surface of the moon, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are in the midst of a deadly battle between Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa. The Rangers are badly injured and can barely stand up. They're surrounded by bodies of puddies and in the distance is a battered and damaged Mega Zord. The last one standing is the White Ranger, Tommy Oliver, who's fighting with everything he has left in him, but it's just not enough.

On the battlefield, Billy Cranston, the Blue Ranger, is crawling to his wife Trini Kwan, the Yellow Ranger, who's struggling to get up. As she falls, Billy catches her with the little ounce of strength, he has left.

Billy Cranston: You remember our vows? I'll always be there to catch you.

Trini Kwan: Yeah. Still beats spending Christmas with your mom.

As the husband and wife duo are having a tender moment, the other Rangers are starting to rise from the rubble and begin to gain their footing. The first to get up is Kimberly Hart, the Pink Ranger, and although she is badly injured, she's still ready to fight.

Kimberly Hart: Guys, get up. We have to help Tommy.

The other rangers who follow Kimberly are Jason Scott, The Red Ranger, and Zack Taylor, The Black Ranger, who are also struggling to catch their breath.

Jason Scott: Kim's right. We gotta help Tommy.

Zack Taylor: How?! We can barely stand up.

Kimberly: That doesn't matter. Tommy needs us.

Without hesitation Kimberly regains herself and immediately rushes into battle, followed by Jason and Zack. As Billy looks at the other Rangers charge into battle he's hesitant to join, until Trini grabs his hand which causes him to look at her.

Trini: She's waiting for us.

With that sentence, Billy nods and helps Trini back up and they charge to join the other Rangers in battle. As this is happening, high above a pillar, Rita Repulsa regains her footing and sees the Rangers charging toward Lord Zedd and Tommy.

Rita Repulsa: Not this time, Rangers.

She then begins to put her hands together and black and red lightning begins to form around her. As she doing this, a wicked laugh comes from Rita as she's enjoying every bit of this.

Rita Repulsa[cont.]: I should've done this years ago. Time to die, Rangers. See you in Hell!!!

A single red lightning bolt shoots for her fingers and aims for the remaking five rangers. As the other Rangers are going full steam ahead towards Lord Zedd and Tommy no one sees the deadly red lightning bolt except for Trini, who notices that it's headed straight for Billy.

Trini: Billy!!!

  With all her speed Trini rushes toward Billy and pushes him out of the way which causes the red lightning bolt to her and shoots her back a foot away, from the battle, and into a standing pillar that collapses on top of her. Billy is horrified as to what has just happened and immediately reacts.

Billy: Trini!!!

   The other Rangers are also horrified and see that it came from Rita. Kimberly has blood in her eyes and immediately rushes toward her. Rita continues to laugh as she's shooting countless red lightning bolts, which cause explosions behind Kimberly.

 
   As Kimberly is headed toward Rita. Jason and Zack continue their pursuit toward Lord Zedd to help Tommy, who's now on the ground struggling to catch his breath. Lord Zedd is standing over a wounded Tommy Oliver, with his foot on his chest, and gets his Z-Staff ready for a kill blow.

Lord Zedd: You don't know how long I've waited for this moment. Let this day be remembered throughout the galaxy, as the end of the Power Rangers!

   Lord Zedd lifts his Z-Staff over his head and before he strikes it through Tommy, Jason blocks it with his Power sword.

Jason: Like hell it is.

  The two break away and begin to fight. As Zedd and Jason are fighting, Zack picks up Tommy and brings him to a safe area. Tommy is groaning in pain as Zack tries to protect him.

Zack: You're gonna be okay, T. We can take it from here.

Before Zack joins the battle, Tommy grabs his arm and the two share a look. They didn't say a single word to each other but the look Tommy gave Zack was more than enough. After that look, Zack immediately rushes back into battle. Although no one could see it inside Zack's helmet, tears were streaming down his face. Meanwhile, Kimberly makes it near the pillar and does a power leap. As she's in the air, Kimberly conjures her power bow and fires a single arrow into Rita's chest.

Rita drops to her knees and looks at the arrow left in her stomach. As she's looking at the arrow, Kimberley lands and slowly approaches her. Rita gives a devilish smile, with black blood covering her teeth.

Rita: Of all the Rangers that I expected to kill me. I'm glad it was you.

After saying that, Rita slumps over and drops dead on the cold and rock-filled ground. Kimberly looks at her body but she had no time to react, as she has to return to the battle against Lord Zedd. Kimberly finally joins the battle and sees that although Jason and Zack are holding their own, they're being overwhelmed by Lord Zedd. With no hesitation, Kimberly immediately jumps into the middle of the two-on-one battle and makes a three-on-one battle.

The combination of these three Rangers has now put Zedd in a corner, as now he's the one who's being overwhelmed by the Rangers. During their fight Jason knocks the Z-Staff out of Zedd's hand and now that he's disarmed Jason stabs Zedd, through the heart, killing him. Zedd grabs the sword and pulls it out of his heart and as he's holding it he drops to his knees and slumps over. Lord Zedd and Rita have died and the day is won... but at a price.

Kimberly rushes over to Tommy, who's barely awake and is constantly catching his breath. Kimberly looks over at Jason and Zack who are just standing over the two as they both know, there is nothing either of them can do. As they look over Tommy, Jason notices something.

Jason: Where's Billy?

As almost on cue, Jason and Zack look over and what they see breaks their heart into pieces. What they see, walking in the distance, is Billy holding the lifeless body of Trini in his arms. The two could see in Billy's black visors streams of tears falling from his eyes. Billy joins his three friends as they check on Tommy.

  As blood comes out of his mouth, Tommy looks around his friends and sees Kimberly who's also crying strands of tears. With the last ounce of strength he had left, Tommy wipes away the tears in Kimberly's eyes.

Tommy Oliver: Thank you all for saving... me.

  And with a smile on his face, Tommy closes his eyes and dies. All the Rangers are now crying as their two closest friends have now died. These four adults have fought the long fight and some have given their lives, for the plane Earth, but at what cost?

                      - - - - ANGEL GROVE - - - -
  Five days later after Lord Zedd and his army attacked the California-based town, now referred to as Z-Day. A memorial service is being held for the many who have fallen on that tragic day. As multiple black motorcades are driving down the street Jason Scott, Zack Taylor, Kimberly Hart, and Billy Cranston, who's holding a baby girl in his arms, are watching the lines of motorcade drive down the street in the membrane of the lives that were lost.

                      - - - - CRANSTON HOME - - - -

After the service, the four friends return to Billy's home. As they all stand on his front porch, Billy gently puts his and Trini's sleeping baby girl into her crib and gives her a gentle kiss on her forehead.

    After putting his daughter to sleep, Billy joins the rest of his friends outside as they're still trying to come to terms with what happened.

Zack: It was a nice service.

Jason: Yeah, I guess.

Zack: So what do we do now?

Jason: Now? We live our lives.

   The three of them look at their former leader as to wonder if he's suggesting what they think he is.

Jason [cont.]: Let's face it, The Power Rangers are over. What more is there left for us to do? Zordon's gone, the base is gone, even Alpha. Tommy and Trini... I don't you guys, but I don't wanna do any more funerals.

Billy: You're right. I'm sorry but I have other things to worry about now and playing superhero isn't one of them.

   The four friends return to their silence as they're coming to terms with their decision. Zack looks around at the three to make sure he's hearing things correctly.

Zack: So that's it? We're just giving up?

Jason: No we're not giving up, we're waking up. Sure, we did some good but sooner or later this game was gonna end. Come on Zack, did you think we were going to be doing this in our 80s? It's time to move on.

   After saying that, Jason reaches into his pocket and pulls out his Ranger coin. He goes over to the front porch railing and sets it on there. Shortly after, Billy follows and places his Ranger coin next to Jason. With some hesitation, Zack puts his Ranger coin next to the other three. The three friends turn around at Kimberly, who's pinching the bridge of her nose.

Jason: Kim?

   Upon hearing her name, Kim reacts and sees her three friends standing in front of her. She immediately gets up and puts her Ranger coin next to the three previous coins. The four now former rangers, look down at the coins as they now begin life as normal adults.

Jason: We're now Rangers, no more.

                     - - - - BABY'S NURSERY - - - -

    Later that night, Billy walks into his daughter's nursery and sits in a nearby rocking chair. In his hand is a framed picture of Trini that he looks at. He lets out a deep sigh as he looks over at his baby girl, who he's then reminded of what's more important. He reaches his hand over the banister and inside the crib and begins to rub the baby's back.

Billy: I'll always be there for you, Mai. Always.

- - - - ANGEL GROVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - - - -

  Five years later, at Angel Grove Elementary School, the kindergarten students are outside enjoying the sunny day, playing recess. In the sandbox, one little girl, in a yellow sundress, is playing with a Red Ranger action figure.

   As she's enjoying herself, a hand comes up and grabs the toy out of her hand. She immediately gets up and tried to get it back.

Young Mai Cranston: Give it back, Butch!

Young Butch: You play with these things? Aren't you a girl or something?

Young Mai: Give it back or I'm gonna tell on you.

Young Butch: Ooh, I'm so scared.

Butch then pushes her and she falls on her back. As she's about to cry, Butch is then pushed from behind and falls on his stomach. The action figure then falls at the feet of a young boy wearing a red coat.

Young Butch: Ow, that hurt. I'm gonna tell Ms.Murphy about you.

Mai watches Butch run away as the young boy reaches his hand out, to pick Mai up. Mai then takes the boy's hand and she's now on her feet.

Young Leo Sanders: Are you okay?

Young Mai: Yeah. Thank you.

Young Leo: You're welcome. Do you like the Power Rangers?

Young Mai: Yeah, I think they're cool. I'm Mai. Mai Cranston.

Leo: I'm...

???: Leo!!!

   Leo then looks over his shoulder and sees two boys, a young Hispanic boy wearing a blue sweater and a young Arab boy wearing a black shirt, running toward him.

Young Alex Ramirez[Blue Shirt]: The teacher said she wants to see you.

Young Leo: But, I didn't do anything.

Young Hari Patel[Black Shirt]: That's not what Butch said.

Young Leo: Well Butch is a big liar, who has a big head and bad breath.

Before Leo can continue his tirade on Butch, he then notices that Mai is still standing behind him.

Young Leo: Oh, sorry. I'm Leo and this is Alex and Hari.

Young Alex: Hi. Young Hari: Hey there.

Young Mai: Hi, I'm Mai.

Young Leo: Mai was getting picked on by Butch and I helped her. I was being good, this time.

??? I find that hard to believe.

The three boys then look over Mai's shoulder and see a young African American girl, wearing a pink leather jacket.

Young Leo: Oh, Princess Lisa came from her ivory tower to mingle with peasants.

Young Lisa Richards: I told you to stop calling me that!

Young Leo: But it's funny.

Young Hari: It's not.

Young Leo: Who side are you on?

    Lisa turns around and pays the three boys no attention and focuses her attention on Mai.

Young Lisa: Hi, I'm Lisa Richards.

Young Mai: I'm Mai.

Young Lisa: Nice to meet you, Mai. Word of advice, stay clear of those three.

Mai laughs and is amused by the banter and friendship these four share. Beforehand she always had trouble finding and making friends, since she was always considered a weirdo to the rest of the students. But now, for the first time, she feels like she finally made friends.

Young Alex: Hey, Mai. You wanna watch Leo get yelled at, by the teacher?

Young Mai: Yeah, sounds like fun!

The five newly made friends walk over to the school building and it was at this moment that these five kids would form a bond unlike any other. A bond that would change the destiny of the entire universe and make a difference for the entire world.
