Choosing not to tell them about those past memories so as to not make them worry, I formulated another question to move away from that topic.

"Do you have any other questions, (Y/N)?" Pearl asked, a small smile tugging at her lips as she centered her attention on me.

"Well. . ." I trailed off. "I've heard about Yellow Diamond being strict - like one of these 'teachers' Steven explained to me. . ."

Early that day, I saw a book about education for human children, so the young one gave me full details about how knowledge was shared here, and about 'libraries' where people here could find books on different things or simply for pleasure.

It was fascinating how humans had changed over the years, since the ones on homeworld lived differently.

I wondered about Blue Diamond, though I was not sure if I could ask about Pink Diamond. Based on most of what I heard, they said she was unique – if not bit of a free spirited Diamond. She was close to Blue, who doted on her more than any of the Gems in her court, yet – when her shattering came up – she was more distraught than anyone.

From I gathered, there was little information I had about the Diamonds aside from White – who knew me better than anyone, as I did her.

I just needed to learn more, since time had kept me locked away as its prisoner in a safety net, so I returned my attention to Peridot, who seemed a bit hesitant from earlier inquiry.

It was nothing I was bothered by from what she said, as even I knew that Diamonds did not tolerate imperfections, that still sounded silly to me. I had no shine or glow unlike other Gems, though I did not think I lacked anything which made me learn to embrace and love my gem colour.

Despite the pain of how that rogue gem reacted to me, I've moved on from those negative feelings and tried to focus on a crafting a brighter outlook for myself.

"Peridot, could you explain to me about more about the Diamonds? I've never met them, so learning more about them might help me."

I wondered what she could tell me about them, though she gave me run down of how they operated everything – which I couldn't help to feel unsure about.

Yellow Diamond was more of the type to love order and discipline, which spoke trust with all the Gems that were within her court, while Blue was the more gentle and compassionate Diamond, even if she became a bit emotional at times. That was most of what I heard when it came to the conversations of Gems from different courts, though I did hear little bits of gossip now and then.

"Of course!" She exclaimed.

The green Gem stood in front of me as well, beginning to share her knowledge about them while the others listened closely.

"Blue is known for her sympathy – a rarity in terms of a Gem of her rank, while Yellow is know for her apathy. Pink, on the other hand. . ."

Everyone seemed to tense at the mention of her name, with Pearl looking down at the floor with a frown and Garnet looking away with her arms crossed firmly over her chest.

"Pink was. . ." Pearl muttered, a hint of sadness present over her pale features. "Pink was shattered – She was an optimistic Diamond known for her bubbly nature."

"I am sorry to hear that." I spoke, placing a hand over the Pearl's back as a tried to encourage her with a smile. "You do not have to tell me about Pink if you feel saddened by it."

"It is quite alright, (Y/N)." Pearl dismissed, smiling back at me. "I understand your curiosity about wanting to know more about Homeworld."

The tension the name Pink had brought up faded away as both her and the rest of the Gems present continued to tell my Pearl and I more about the Diamonds and Homeworld in general, eventually leading for another question to pop up in the midst of all my curiosities.

"What is your purpose for being here?" I asked, directing my question at everyone present.

Everyone's gazes shifted over to me as they thought over my question, Garnet being the first one to speak up.

"I am here to protect Steven and to keep on fulfilling Rose Quartz's vision of Earth." She answered, a hint of a smile slowly showing over her face. "I am also here to be myself – Unlike Homeworld, the people of this planet don't seem to mind fusion between different types of Gems."

"I am here to protect what Rose Quartz found precious – to keep on her legacy and be there for her son." Pearl spoke up, confidence clear in her tone.

"I'm here to fight for the world I was made in." Amethyst added, maintaining a confidence tone and voice herself as she grinned at me and my Pearl. "We're all here for somethin' different, but at the same time, we have something in common."

"And that's having something worth fighting for!" Steven chimed in, arriving next to the purple Gem as she placed a hand over his head and messed his hair up in a playful manner.

"What he said." She let out a laugh.
